Is there a CRW boogie in England sometime in Sept?

cha-ching CUTAWAY!!!!!!

Sounds like a lot of time would be wasted even when the judges could tell there is some sort of seperation. What about going from point a --> c if you slide along the nose of the canopy to get there. Or... if you go for a wing dock, grab a line in and then walk across the lines to get there? Would these situations cause a bust?
-
Thanks for that. When you say you have to show seperation. Does there have to be clear sky between the two jumpers?
-
Not sure if this has been discussed before but..... What is the best way to do this move? Where the top jumper must remain on top. eg B to B, or E to E. Having trouble with the top jumper surging forward after we break the point. Should the top jumper move to the right and then back in to top dock, can he put double front riser in after the first point then try to back in on brakes or should the bottom jumper try and fly in on rears? This move is causing most headaches at the moment. Is it possible to just "flash" the move by taking the feet out and putting them straight back in without even making a move? What are your thoughts?

Try getting 5 or 6 mates together who would also like to give it a try. Then you can split the cost of hiring a coach to travel from another area. -
Is there a general guide to other CRW disciplines? For 2 way i jump @1.7ish. Is the general thinking for rots as high as possible? What about 4way sequential? I have never done it before. Would they want to be going a little slower for that?

The articles section is a valuable source of information. How about every time a new article is posted, a link to the appropriate forum if applicable is shown for discussion or clarification. Sort of like how the fatality database is linked to the incidents forum. This would stop people like myself PM'ing authors if they have a question. -
He now has a partnership in www.melbourneskydivecentre.com.au. A tan-doom dz in the Yarra Valley, Melbourne. Those guys are rockin over there. Got their own plane now and are going hard.

What did u do for the jump Wendy?
-
Hey Dale, Did a 2 way jump with Matt the other day. He pitched off my opening and as I turned to the first point he was going straight down with the canopy struggling to inflate. It sorted itself out after about 10 seconds but after the jump he said he wanted me to dock so he could chop without losing the gear.
-
What would be the difference in jumping the same canopy but going from a 160 to a 146 etc. Obviously the higher WL means your travelling faster across the ground but what other control issues would there be? Would a 90 degree turn need to be executed higher for example? Or would performing a 90 degree turn start at the same height and just get to the ground quicker?

Thanks mate. Nice site btw. There is some very good info there. The lack of 2 way footage makes it a little hard to get a feel for what a fast team is doing. Matts actually wearing lead on some jumps now believe it or not. We had to get him to jump the 126 while we figure out canopy set ups. Its all sorted now.

If you can see someones foot clearly at the top of a line but not clear separation between canopy and the person docking is that allowed? If the point is a two stack do both feet have to be in? Any general pointers on how to best present the point to judges?
-
Nope. Its Crimson Mist.

Whos going to Russia? What event will you be competing in and have you been before?
-
Has anyone considered the 5th team member on a 4 way? What about your camera guy? I dont fly camera so im not 100% sure if theyre over the top or just off the side but pulling 1st in a 4way might get you a nice close up on the day tape.

Thanks for the helpful responses. Cant wait to go put them into practice. Ill let you know how it goes!

I have been doing a little bit of 2 way CRW lately and have a couple of questions. 1. When coming in to dock on my partners left leg for example I try and place the out side line right over his foot for an easier dock. However the cell sometimes flies behind his body and the canopy turns sharply to the right. Is there any way to minimise this turn? Its hard to keep it there and I usually end up with my centre cell near his torso. Any one have ideas on how to prevent or stop that happening? 2. When actually flying the side step the bottom flyer has to trim out with opposite riser. Otherwise we are finding the canopy wants to come up over the person on top. Obviously in comp you wont be holding the point for too long but I figure the point should be able to be flown without too much tension. Any ideas? 2.1) When releasing the sidestep the increased tension is causing me to get flung off because I am risering. 3. We did a couple of jumps on different canopies where I had more drive and lift. On points where I had to dock on him I was coming of to the side generally to avoid the burble, risering down below him and then driving back up. I found it easy to get the dock in but its probably not the fastest way. Now we have well matched canopies and im finding it a lot harder to catch him. I think I have to make the inputs closer rather than swinging out too far and then back in. Any thoughts or special techniques for moving closer/quicker. I think those questions make sense. We were doing around 5-6 points in time with crappy technique so hopefully it will get better! Thanks

I hit 6 Roos on the way up to the Nox... wasnt my car either but it had a bull bar on it that could take on a tank. Kinda smelt though...
