  1. More than welcome! I really don't know for sure what BillVon's response to this will be, i just know he will have a fairly intellectial answer/response as will most that will respond. With all the "HubBub" about SUV's as of late, it's generated my interest in what everyone's opinion will be on this matter if fuel were cheaper. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  2. An emphatic YES! Some times you gotta do what you gotta do. All's fair in love and war. It is what it is. Whether we like it or not, the intelligence community will do what ever they want to anyway, so what does it matter anyway? -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  3. Seems the price of fuel, and the demand for SUV's are very different than here in the states. Question: If the conditions here were the same as there, would you buy ans SUV? Or would you "Stand Pat?" This could make for some interesting conversation! C'mon BillVon, it's your response i'm most interested in!
  4. ARCH fixes everything. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  5. RE: Topic: Not even worthy of reply. I wouldn't even give them the time of day. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  6. Last time i went to work i was gone for over 6 weeks without any days off. We're running way short of personal in my industry. Want a job?
  7. I just happened to have extra tickets for tomorrows race. Two of them to be exact! My wife and i do Texas twice a year, Daytona once a year and Talledega Alabama once a year. It is the ONLY thing we have in common. Plus i get a kick out of it. I attened the Richard Petty Dricing Experience and got to run 20 laps around the speedway with 19 other drivers, i came in 5th with a top speed of 179.43 MPH down the back stretch, unforgetable! I also got to see, touch and feel one of Dale Earnhardt's old original GM Good Wrench cars, the original chassis was built in 1998, when i got behind the wheel, i can't explain the experience. I will post .jpeg images when i get home, i've got a bunch of them to process. Let me know if anybody can use the tickets. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  8. These cars are available, and on sale, all new for 2006. The original inception of the 4-6-8 design was originally placed on the late 1970's cadillacs. When ever the car reaches a certain speed the "fuel rack" just stops sending fuel to the cylinder, they obviously didn't have the design refined enough, because it didn't last but 2 years. Now Chevrolet has come back with their design. The All New Chevrolet Monte Carlo. (Which will take the place of the current Busch Cup, and Nextel Cup bodies in 06, as will the all new Ford Fusion take the place of the Ford Taurus, and Dodge will drop the old body style they currently incorporate and use the all new 06 Dodge Charger)They used one today (06 Monte Carlo SS) as the Official Pace Car at the O'Reiley's 300 Mile Busch Race at Texas World Speedway, Kevin Harvick drove his # 21 Reese's Chevrolet to victory lane. (His wife DeLanay own's this Busch Series Car) Tomorrow, we have the Dickies 500 mile Nextel Cup race at the speedway, Watch that # 08! It was a great time. The Remax skydiving team aborted their skydive (Wise decision, i had my wind meter with me, gusts to 35 MPH) other than that the fly over of the 4 F-16's was cool. More Later! See attached a .jpeg image of my new Corvette 06 C-6 Coupe with the all new LS-2 350 CID with 400 HP and 485 ft lbs of torque at the rear end! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  9. Read my sig line, therein lies your answer. Relax, watch the plane fly away and ARCH. Once your "knees are in the breeze" it's all good. We all go through it at one time or another. Remember, read my sig line. Good Luck, Have Fun! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  10. I never mentioned anything about what you've mentioned here, your cracking wise, and it's not funny. My whole point was that GWB knew in advance what his reception would be like days before arrival. How smart does the leader of the free world look now? I'm particulararilly upset that he would go there and make us all look like fools. He should have never went there given the relationship with Hugo Chavez. It's first grade math really. It's bad enough the people in third world countries hate us the way they do, this little trip didn't help. I've traveled the world, i've personally seen the way these people look at us, they absolutely hate us. One of the main reasons why is in South America now (GWB) -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  11. Check the specs on your container on the wings website. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, call the factory. Otherwise your just getting opinions from different people here who may have different experiences. Contacting the manufacturer is always generally the safest way to go. Good Luck. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  12. GWB made an ass out of himself and every american in the USA today. (He'll be lucky to leave without having his ass handed to him) I'm indeed sorry i voted for him for the third time today after seeing the footage from South America today. I need not embelish any further with the well informed. Nuff Said. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"

  14. Not yet, but i'm sure it's coming. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  15. You asked for advice, you recieved it. What you do with it is up to you. If you wish to fly with a higher WL i advised you how you could do it without changing out canopies. (The weight vest) You give me the impression your in too big of a hurry and looking for an excuse to down size. I'm not bashing you for that, i did it myself. It was people who cared about me that advised me during my canopy progression that kept me from killing myself. Take a canopy course, buy some videos, seek out a mentor. But don't down size until you know and feel in your heart the current canopy has taught you all it could. Again, Good luck and be safe. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  16. All too often i've seen sky divers downsize because of peer pressure, the feeling of "fitting in" There are many non legit reasons that sky divers down size. I've even seen sky divers down size against the advice of others. So other than "being bored" there are many other reasons / excuses for down sizing. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  17. That's exactly what i'm saying. I know what it's like to "drag a wagon" because of light wing loading. I transformed from a Sabre1 280 - Sabre1 230 - Triathlon 210 - Triathlon 190 - Hornet 170 (Best damned canopy i've ever owned) Cobalt 170 (Worst canopy i've ever owned) HeatWave 170 (2nd best canopy i've ever owned) To my current and best canopy i've ever owned an Icarus CrossFire2 169. I will stay with the 169 because there is no need for me to "Go Smaller" since i have no desire to compete or be a "Swoop God" If you want to know how a higher wing load would feel, try a weight vest first with your current canopy. (Be sure to ask your S&TA for their advice before you do this) "Every man has got to know his limitations" Be in touch with the fact you are mortal. And do not be in a hurry to down size. When and if you do down size, have a reason other than vanity for doing it. One mistake at a higher wing loading, you'll be in the incident reports. Don't be that guy. I've lost 2 friends to sky diving accidents since i made my first tandem and went through the now antiquated AFP program. Both guys made low turns at too high of a wing load. Not to say a lighter wing load would have saved them, but they would have had a way better chance of survival. What ever you do, make a wise and informed choice and seek the advice of your S&TA at your DZ, and others who have watched you land your canopy. Don't make the decision to down size because you are bored with your current canopy. (I've been there, done that) Good Luck, Be Safe. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  18. While i definitely applaud your zeal in this area of DZ life, Like Lisa said, git over it. It's sad it's that way, but it is. It does keep me from jumping as much as i'd like to. Good Luck, Take Care. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  19. This is a tragic and horrific event. It's sad that society has denegrated to the point that there are folks in the free population who have not yet graduated into a civil society where people treat others as if they would like to be treated. Your nephew Justin looks like a fine young man full of promise and potential. I'm sure he will have a bright future. Here's wishing him a speedy and complete recovery. I'm not sure what denomination he is, but when my wife and i go to bed tonight and say our prayers we will ask Father God, and "Our Best Friend" to include Justin in our prayers and bestow his blessings on him and have his angels protect and watch over him to insure a complete recovery and a chance to realize and achieve his dreams. As for the people who did this to him, they will get theirs, no doubt. Ying/Yang. Dislike the action, not the actor, i think it's very important to keep this in mind. Take Care, God's blessings to you and yours. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  20. See the info below from his profile. I can see how the 1.12:1 W.L. is getting boring, but i think he needs to bore himself some more. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  21. If it doesn't fit, you must aquit! -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  22. Yeah, your right, it's sad, but true. Reality is just that....Reality. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  23. True. The part that "could and may" get you entangled into something you want no part of, is if this person took some of your advice and let's just say lost $10,000.00 He/She then has an option of recouse to fall back on you for the liability for having giving the advice to begin with. Unless your degereed in this field, doesn't mean what works for you may work for your friend. The same way you shouldn't tell a friend with a broken bone let's say, "This is what i did when i broke that same bone" now you do it, and your advice fails your friend. As i said, just food for thought. In our ever litigious society you really have to watch what you say and to whom. Good Luck. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
  24. Why, if i may be so bold as to inquire are you even remotely interested in how, what, when or where he spends or invest / does not invest HIS money? Are you a C.P.A.? If not, you may want to be careful about offering any advice, you could and may wind up liable for something you never intended to be a part of. Food for thought. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall"
