I was raised to believe in a Lutheran School (Grades Pre-k - Grade 8) That any attempt to judge someone for whatever the reason, the same judgement you impose on others wil be imposed upon you. Regardless who did what and whose fault it was...if anyone's. The fact is i'm sure Gus signed a waiver just like everyone else who skydives. Ultimately this means if you jump and get killed as a result of your skydive....no matter whose fault, you indemnify them for any liabilities for any accident or injury you sustain during skydiving operations. Assuming the pilot didn't "run him down like a dog" the pilot - dz and everything else included cannot be held responsable for this most unfortunate incident. -Richard- "You're Holding The Rope And I'm Taking The Fall" -

It's that Love/Hate thing. You love it when they visit and you hate it when they leave. I've noticed the older i get, the more my kids drive me nuts when they visit me. It's sort of they're invading my space kinda thing. I don't know for sure. I do enjoy when they come, and they do aggravate me when they're here. But when they leave i'm thinking "Don't let the door hit you in the ass" So this could be the "flip side" to what your expressing / feeling? If this is true, then the PIC should not take him up on loads providing he/she is aware of the situation. One could lose their USPA ratings for this type of alleged offense. Well of course we all agree with that. Unfortunately, yes. I've seen a lot of off the wall stuff go on since i've been sky diving. Sometimes it's best to let the DZO and the S&TA do their jobs and have fun jumping. You could've discussed this situation with the alleged offender instead of dragging it in here. Jesus, i hope not. That's not what i meant. Those that are aquainted with my wife and i know her doing ANYTHING such as cleaning...cooking...washing...etc...etc...will NOT be done by her. I don't have time as i'm always working, as does she. So we just send everything out and we have a maid. My wife told me many years ago before the nuptials were uttered "If you think even for a moment your getting a Susie Homemaker, or a Betty Crocker, don't say the I Do" Honestly, at first i thought she was jesting, but time has proven she wasn't at all. Personally, i don't think it was out of line, but then again i'm just a freaking observer and i've transgressed far worse than you ever have or will...hopefully! The question was, and you interpreted it correctly, would you buy an SUV if gas prices were cheaper? The gentleman in the article mentioned he had a wife and family. I can see how someone like this would be attracted to a big SUV. I generally drive a 1/2 ton chevy 4 door truck with a short wheelbase. when all 4 of my children were home i had a 1 ton crew cab dually, good for work and family. Now my wife drives a Chevy trailblazer, because all we have now is the occasional grand child to tote around. I think the Gigantic SUV's are U.G.L.Y. the H-2 comes to mind, what were they thinking? But if someone likes it...no problem! I wouldn't have one. And your right, that Subaru Outback is cool.
