Ok, who wants it? I'm taking bids. 100% legit. I need money and figured a private sale is gonna get me more than selling it to a record store. If anyones interested, I'm happy to give more info. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

Last time I jumped was on tuesday. Did AFF 1 jump. I screwed it up lots, but still passed. I stuffed up the exit count, but was saying it loud enough that the JMs didnt accidently leave the plane without me, then I was looking at my alti but not actually reading it. I was supposed to pull at about 5,500' but realised where I was at just under 5000' and pulled without looking at either JM. Then i cursed my stupidity as my chute opened. My JM's were just happy I pulled! Next jump will be MUCH better! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

Learning here and learning at the real DZ...
nael replied to Liemberg's topic in Safety and Training
I'd go for that option too. If someone says something here that makes me think, or I think might be wrong or whatever, I ask instructors at the dz. I have also asked more experienced skydivers at the dz questions (bad me!), but usually only in conversation. If they told me anything I wasnt sure about, I'd definately ask an instructor to double check what i'd been told. Usually theres an instructor hanging around in these conversations anyway, so I assume they'de speak up if anyone said anything that they disagreed with. I was told on tuesday at the dz that I'd learn who to listen to and whos opinion to disregard, the guy then said "dont listen to me, or any of these fools!". www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store -
I just started AFF last weekend, and I found it extremely helpful reading lotsa stuff before(mostly on the net) and also talking to some people around the dz. I already knew what was what on a parachute which really helped for obvious reasons, but it also helped for idetifying malfunctions and stuff. If you know whats what and can visualise it happening it makes it a whole lot easier. Chances are you're already familiar with that, so go have some fun. Good luck! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I know what you're saying, and I know you're face isnt supposed to have contact with the ground, but you are also protecting your reserve handle by having your hands/arms up, say if you're landing in a tree or somewhere equally as nice, you need to protect it so that it doesnt cutaway the main before you have come to a standstill (so you dont end up falling when the main cuts away). Obviously what I'm saying is all textbook stuff, I have zero experience in this, so I was just wondering if the experienced jumpers can tell me if I'm missing something or if you really do have to either flare, or be ready for a PLF?? www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I just started AFF last weekend, so this is just something I thought of after my first landing. I was told to get ready for a PLF (radio TA), but then told to flare for landing. Now, how are you supposed to be ready to PLF (with arms bent up to protect your face) if you are supposed to be doing a full landing flare? I landed fine, didnt think about it except to hear my TA say I should have PLF'd but later when I was thinking about it, I just wondered about this. Obviously I will ask next time I'm at the dz, but for now, am I missing some vital part of the PLF preparation?? Either my arms are down, doing a full flare, or they are up for a PLF. Which is it? www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

Off topic (since its a weird thread anyway). Gandalf actually says "run, you fools" if I'm not mistaken. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I like my job at the moment which is nice. In the past, I have given about 2 hours notice. My boss was so pissed off at me for leaving like I did, but he was an ass. Then, turns out they liked me so much they offered me my job back a year later when they heard that I wasnt working anywhere (they knew my mum). Turned out nicely I thought! Now, all I need is to win about $10,000! hmmm any suggestions? www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

That's awesome. I've just started AFF, I am slowly getting the money as I do the course. I thought It'd be heaps cheaper after AFF, but then I found out about B-rels, and then getting my A licence, not to mention the price of a rig! Ugh. Looks like I'm going to be poor for a long long time! I've looked around for things to sell, but I can't find anything! I sold 57 cds already, I have about 150 left, so maybe I'll sell some of them. Hell, I'd do anything to be able to afford this, so yeah, I'll be selling more cds soon, but other than that I have nothing of any value to anyone! Good luck with your AFF! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I am starting AFF this weekend, I've already sold 57 cds, and at the moment I'm thinking of selling my car to buy a rig. I wouldn't do it for the next couple of months, but I love my car (I wanted the exact car I have now for 4 years before I got it!), but if I sold it, after I pay the loan back to the bank, I'd have about $4000 left which is enough for what I need for skydiving at the moment. I have 3 jobs at the moment, all of the money from the 2 part time jobs is going to skydiving, as is some of the money from my full time job! It's damn expensive! Good luck with whatever you find to sell! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

Those pics are amazing! I start AFF this weekend, I cant wait to be able to experience that for myself! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

Damn boy, good looking and with an awesome tattoo. Pity you're in the wrong country! :p www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

That's an awesome tattoo! I've wanted a dragon tattoo for years, and have looked at literally thousands of designs, and never seen one that is pretty much perfect, but yours takes the cake! I'm not gonna rip it off though, got no money for tattoos now. I have 2 tattoos (no pics, sorry). One is a celtic knotwork on my upper outter thigh and the other is a celtic cross on on wrist. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I am starting AFF on saturday, so I really don't know what I'd do if I was in a relationship and they asked me to stop skydiving (since I havent started yet). I met a guy a week ago who wanted a relationship with me (he moved a little fast!), and one of the reasons I said no is because I want to concentrate on skydiving, needless to say, he was more than unimpressed. His exact words were "I've been ditched for all sorts of things, but never for skydiving!". I guess there's a first for everything! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

Good luck with your AFF. I am starting mine next weekend (I'm counting down the days!). Going out to the dz tomorrow to watch some friends do stage 2. I know what you mean about being hooked, I only ever intended on doing 1 tandem, but now i've sold 57 cds and put every spare cent into saving up for AFF. Its only taken me 6 weeks, and I'm getting there slowly! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I have only done one tandem and I felt like I was falling for the first couple of seconds too. Can anyone explain why that is? Has it got something to do with being nervous? www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

She tolerates it now which is good. She's not being as annoying as I know she can be when she really doesnt want me doing something, so I think she's secretly impressed with my new found fun! I cant wait to start, I'm counting down the days. I cant wait for the day when I am done with AFF and can jump and do everything as second nature and just enjoy the jump for what it is! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I had a crazy full weekend, saturday I spent the day at Coastal Patrol which I have just joined so it was my first day there, and I got to drive a boat and talk on the radio to all the ships, and saturday night I had a big one (on a $20 budget!) and ended up getting home at 4:30am, then got up at 6:30am to be at Daves (neoteng) house by 7:30am to go to the dz. I cant afford to jump yet, so I was just gonna watch everyone else, which suited me fine after 2 hours sleep. When I got home from the dz, a guy i met about 2 months ago when I was on holidays arrived in sydney and suprised me, which sorta sucked at the same time, cause I was hella tired, so we went out all afternoon, and finally at the end of the day I got some sleep. Plus, on saturday night I met a nice guy who just might be nice enough to spend some more time with, but i'll have to wait and see on that one! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

haha nah, you guys weren't too weird for me, you are extremely crazy though! With the money thing, my mum is offering me money not to skydive, so far all she's offered is $60 a week. I'm interested to see how high she'll take the offer. See you saturday! Only 2 more weeks til I can jump! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I already sold those cds and my mum has begun offering me money not to jump. Of course, I've refused, but I start AFF in 2 weeks, and today she told me that means she has "2 weeks to increase the money offer and see just how much I will turn down". I've told her its not going to work, but hey, she can try! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

:) Thanks Dave, it was fun meeting you guys too! I'm gonna come out to picton with you again on saturday, but I'll talk to you before then anyway. My mum told me today that she has 2 more weeks to up the $$ offer to not jump. I wonder how high she'll go! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

9/11 - I was about to go to bed (I live in australia and it was about 11pm here) and a news flash came on saying that a plane had hit one of the towers. I thought it was an accident, but my mum spends a bit of time in america and NYC so I went to wake her up, straight away she thought it was a terrorist attack. By the time I got back to the tv the second plane had just hit. We stayed up til 4am watching it, the next day at work we had the tv on all day watching it. Sorry to anyone who lost someone special. On a side note - I havent heard about what happened in fresno. I have a friend that lives there. What happened exactly?? Edit - Just looked it up. Sad stuff. www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

I did my first (tandem) jump about a month ago,a nd I wasnt taught anything about pulling or flying a canopy. If something had happened to my TM, even if I did realise, I would've had no idea what to do. I'm glad I didnt think about this before the jump! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store

The cds were lotsa old hardcore punk cds that I haven't listened to in about a year and a half so nah, I didn't get copies, but it's all good cause I have heaps of other cds to listen to. Actually, when I look at my cd rack I can hardly tell that any cds are missing! www.TerminalSports.com.auAustralia's largest skydive gear store
