    you'd be surprised how many people around the world have lived in a country for quite some time yet still do not (and have no interest to do so) speak the local language. And some of them are actually wealthy groups of people. I can think of at least a dozen people who have lived in Shanghai for over 4 years and do not speak a word of Mandarin (nor do they mingle with locals). Although I do not understand their motivation, I see lots of them in pretty much every country I have been.     I always do the above, and indeed the motions felt almost natural when I had to use the handles. For what it's worth, I always feel my PC hackey when the door opens, then when I get near the door, to make sure the PC is well stowed; I also take a good look at my chest strap routing before heading out... (Don't give too much credit to what I wrote, I have shit for experience! It's only my personal approach.)
