ATF Wants to Ban Import of "Non-Sporting" Shotguns
piisfish replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
I think they want to promote US non-sporting shotguns, and only keep the possibility to import sports guns. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

Or you can take the USAPR course and get a copy which is included in the course cost. Got my first copy from Sandy at the PIA in Barcelona. The spiral binder original is on a good solid paper and as it is on a spiral it can be used flat while working without pages turning. I wouldn't print it out myself in order to respect the author. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Aerodyne Icon with Skyhook: Service Bulletin
piisfish replied to gzimmermann's topic in Gear and Rigging
Wow you must be THE one case in Switzerland. Do you know of any others? Who gave you the info about the SB ? Was it Aerodyne or your local rigger? When did you get the info and where do you normally jump ? You can reply via PM if you prefer scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

posted a link to this thread on the french forum www.wuza.com I would seriously reconsider relining a Merit. If it needs a reline, it certainly also needs a re-fabric. Unless the lines were damaged n a "young" canopy I wouldn't do it. The old PdF fabric is CRAP scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Theo Fritschy, pioneer of Swiss parachuting
piisfish replied to piisfish's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
Theo Fritschy has left us and will be sorely missed. I bet he will be able to show a couple of tricks to the others up there. There are people you are happy to have jumped with, and some people you are proud to have jumped with. For me, Theo falls in both categories. He checked my spot for my Para-Commander jumps. A great moment for me. I had around 200 jumps, he had 10 times more. And he KNEW how to spot. Thanks for the great times shared. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

wingsuit landing without parachute project
piisfish replied to profesorlino's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Loic's accident was speedflying., not wingsuiting. He is flying indeed, the Porter in Gap, France. Concerning the jumping, I do not have accurate info but it seems that for the moment he is not jumping anymore. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

I jumped my 1st packjob at my 8th jump, before that I had 5 jumps in the US (tandem progression), 6th jump (1st in Switz) the rig was already packed, 7th my instructor packed it for me as a demonstration. I actually didn't think about it too much, the instructor said he'd jump it.... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

How much forward speed would you be carrying if you had your HG going 30mph down? 30mph is 44f/s, 13.5m/s which seems to be a GREAT dive for hanggliders. Would be interesting to know what kind of speed you would reach in such a sustained dive. MAybe need to trim the glider to be able to keep it in such a dive ? maybe need to detune it ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
