Avignon (Pujaut) Le Luc Gap these would be I believe the 3 closest DZ's If you drive to Lezignan (between Montpellier and Perpignan), that is around 2 hours drive, there is a nice DZ and very soon a kickass wind tunnel (should be flying around next month or so) add a couple of hours and you are in Empuriabrava scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

sometimes you can't, sometimes you don't want to wait. Some of the 2nd hand I bought I tried before buying. Don't think I ever tried any of the new stuff I got before buying. Actually the most ill-fitting piece of equipment I have was 2nd hand, tried before purchasing, but just HAD TO buy it scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

I think the Paragliding thingy looks pretty much the same as the one PD uses. http://youtu.be/A8GC3newXQQ Them Swiss products.. Might be too "slow" to test high speed landings... ***Vane trailing sensor speed vane diam.: 16mm wheel bearing: sapphire conical bearing head housing: hard Nylon – vane mounting in chromium steel ring starting characteristics: 0,5 m/s (1,8 km/h) measuring range: 0,5 m/s – 33,4 m/s (1,8 – 120 km/h) To Popec, depending on where you are, you might be able to ask Flytec (or some user of the products, generally paragliding manufacturers) if they can loan you one scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

How to safely buy gear through classifieds?

pretty close to the 6 degrees of separation theory... Traditionnally in skydiving my WAG is that there are around 3 degrees of separation. With the modern internet social networks, you are down to 2 degrees of separation. Talk to people, activate your network. You will almost always get some feedback scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM -

-his body position doesn't seem to help -aren't Cobalts meant to be opened in a track ? His "good" ones are having closed end-cells. His "bad" ones look quite snappy. I got my own collection of Cobalt openings, but I was too lazy to edit them together. I prefer the fast/positive ones over those slow one coming with closed end-cells. I would not open that canopy from track if it opens in 2s. I don't know the Cobalt, but it is what I remembered from an old thread, like THIS ONE scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

Planning on doing a couple of commemorative jumps during the summer (and the next summers). I need to find a (or several) places where to find clothing etc to "look like" a US GI who jumped over Europe in the 40's. Preferrably close to Deland or Eloy, as I will be over there in april scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

I don't own one, but have jumped a couple, packed both main and reserves. A very nice harness/container. Lots of very well thought details, good comfort and quality. Shoot a PM to BKR here, he knows quite a bit about them rigs (he is the manufacturer). Also they used to have (don't know if they still have that programme)an "exchange" plan, where for a small amount of money, you jumped your new main canopy for a year or so, and exchanged it for a smaller size new main. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

not a good day ? I bet that Jeb will say it was the best day ever. Pitching the pilot chute 2 seconds later would have been a bad day. He knocked on Death's door twice on the same jump, and now is staring to walk with crutches. Could it be any better than that ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

which ? Mine ? It is something that we call a spaceworm, but then again it depends of your level of alcohol Fugly as hell, but keeps you warm when you pass out in sub-freezing temperatures. Better than a kinky nurse outfit, or a gladiator outfit, or going in a kilt with nothing under... And generally the kinky nurses are kept warm by other people. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

loose fitting gloves, plus loose fitting suit, plus loose fitting harness, plus full face at 18 jumps.... that's a lot for 1 jump.... he doesn't seem to go for reserve, but for the breakaway handle, and that is once he is stood up by the deploying main scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
