I'm a first year (fish) at Texas A&M University. I'm an undeclared general studies major at the moment. I was hoping to study architecture a few months ago, but my one and only architecture course is so damn boring.... yeah... Sarah
-

would you be the infamous 'cabana boy'? Sarah

Yeah, I'm so grateful that my parents are willing to pay for my education, but at the same time... I'm sure I would probably be making better grades If I were paying for it myself... My grades are by no means BAD, they just aren't what I'm quite used to making...
-
LOL ... better watch out ACME!

See, thats awesome!!! FallinWoman, are you happy with your decision? I went into college thinking I would love to be an architect, and now... I'm looking at becoming a teacher... and math is something I enjoy, for the most part. I don't think anyone could pay me enough money to teach English. College and success are touchy subjects in my family. I have a brother who is 5 years older than me, who went to college... failed out once and then failed out AGAIN and then the University politely asked him not to return. My brother is by no means an idiot, he just couldn't manage his time and a wild partying fraternity. My parent's stopped supporting him financially after he failed completely out of college and my dad still resents him for his 'failure' (as my dad would say)... My brother has by no means failed... he works as an assistant general manager at a restaurant in Hawaii... he's happy and he's learning to manage his money... although, he does wish he had stayed in school... My parents are paying for my education under the assumption that my grades are to stay decent.... and this semester is looking a little rocky compared to the last.... But, my main concern is letting my father down and losing financial support. Becoming an architect is a decent and worthy profession in my father's eyes and he really wants me to pursue it... but I don't have the nerve to tell him I'm not at all interested in architecture anymore... If I were to tell him I wanted to be a high school teacher he would tell me how little money they make and blah blah blah.... I feel like I'm going to college, just to go to college... I suppose that's just the way it works... or am I wrong?

heh, my 2 favorite 'pub' friends posted! SWEET! Do you ever get burnt out on whatever it is you are studying? I wanted to study architecture... but I took one class about architecture and I'm like ahhhhhhhhhh this is SO boring! Do I REALLY want to do this for the rest of my life? Maybe, I can just marry a rich man and be a house wife?!?! hmmm.... maybe ... maybe not! Sarah
-
GFD, you amuse me... Sarah
-
So, who are the college students? What year are you? What university do you attend? What is your major and how did you decide what you wanted to study? Heck, even if you're not in college anymore... how did you know what you wanted to study? Sarah
-
Good luck with that... I'm gonna go to sleep now...or try at least...g'night...

I lived in England when I was very very little, but I went back to visit a few years ago... I liked it... I visited London and Cheltnam (where I lived) I've also visited Scotland... those people are so hard to understand... Oh but I remember waking up one morning in our hotel room and it was snowing... I'm from Texas, so snow was a BIG deal... I've also been to Italy... spent most of my time in Rome... EVERYONE and I mean everyone smokes... I'm not a smoker, so all the smoke kinda got to me, that and quite often, random men will hit on you as they pass you walking on the street.... kinda weird... but I would go back in a heart beat... we visited Florence and Capri... WOW- Capris is such a beautiful island... I wouldn't mind living there!
