Please show evidence that I prefer magic to science. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Love is not an emotion except in its crudest sense. Love would be that thing, for example, that keeps a man alive and strong in spirit after enduring seven years of being a POW in North Vietnam. In this case it might be the love of his family. There is no biological component for that. You have confused love with infatuation. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Your personal experience is that you exist. You have no other evidence of that unassailable fact. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Personal experience is evidence. Does love exist? If it does, then it exists only in your personal experience of it. Others, apparently experiencing the same situations, may not experience it, or even believe that it exists. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Gun shows in the US must follow all the rules for gun sales. Tell us, when was the last time you bought a gun at a US gun show? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Truth is Truth however and whenever it is expressed: If it can be spoken of, that's not it. Lao Tzu Curving back within Myself I create again and again. The Bhagavad Gita That One Thing, breathless, breathed by It's own nature; apart from It was nothing whatsoever. Rig Veda The reality we can put into words is never reality itself. Heisenberg Quantum Theory thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe. Fritjof Capra There is only One Thing, ever unmanifest, without attributes, and therefore ever imperceptible. Is this God? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Hang on a minute--I'll ask her. She says she never heard of you either. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

I'm going to solve this once and for all. This is the realm of metaphysics, stompin grounds of philosophers. My wife happens to be a philosopher, full time. I'll ask her what she thinks. She says there is only One Thing in the universe and It regularly manifests as multiplicity which we experience as the dream we call "life", and then returns to Its unmanifest state-- over and over again. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

We are such stuff as dreams are made on; And our little life is rounded with a sleep. The Tempest, Shakespeare "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Whose dream? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

No, I don't there can be Nothing. How do physicists explain this paradox? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy
-
Maybe we are asking the wrong question. Rather than ask "Does God exist?" maybe we should consider "Can there be Nothing?" For if God exists and God IS then there never was nor could there ever be Nothing. And if God does not exist then everything came from Nothing, which is not possible. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Hmmm. The "Creation Myth" of the Vedas sure sounds a lot like the Big Bang: the expiration (creation) and inhalation (dissolution) of Narayana (personification of that which exists beyond the physical universe). But I am not an apologist for any religion. As I said earlier, when the Truth is misunderstood it becomes a religion. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

What about Lord Shiva? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

The universe allows all sorts of evil beings to exist, apparently. Some of them are gods. None deserve worship--on that we are, I think, agreed. Let's say that nothing is "no substance". The Big Bang would be the origin of substance. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

You were evidently traumatized by your experiences in Sunday School and are therefore stuck on the notion of God as a super anthropomorphous being full of vindictiveness, cruelty and other human weaknesses. You must try and transcend your prejudices. Can something come from nothing? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

I'm pretty sure it's "gnab gib". "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Now I can die. Thank you. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

What happened before the Big Bang? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

It is the word "God" that is preventing us from communicating. Everyone thinks he knows what "God" is. I am suggesting that we haven't a clue what God is. Entirely beyond "our frail and feeble mind(s)". Imagination is required to conceive of such a God, even for the sake of speculation. "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy

Who said anything about the God in Genesis? Can you not imagine some other supreme being? "Here's a good specimen of my own wisdom. Something is so, except when it isn't so." Charles Fort, commenting on the many contradictions of astronomy
