We were recently all issued with beutiful new radios for duty and are advised to turn them into TXI mode (transmission inhibit) when filling up our vehicles. Its not the signal that is dangerous as that is in the air all the time anyway. We were told that the danger lies in operating electrical equipment rather than any mythical signal manifesting itself as a spark. Thats th eonly reason we are supposed to do it, but in practice, just make sure you dont transmit on the forecourt.

No, maybe they could explain what they do because the videos don't paint a very good picture. I understand the private security stuff, defending positions but not entirely sure about the shooting from helicopters and sniping. Just seems a bit.... wrong.

I think I'd be more surprised whos funding them. A private militia independent of the coalition with seemingly the ability to do what they want. Hmmmmmmmmmm, makes you think huh.

I'd guess so. I don't know but I believe most private firms out there are charging extortionate rates. I just didn't realise these type of cowboys were out there too

I've looked them up since and they look like some private security firm renting themselves out to people in Iraq. Seem to have strepped straight out of a 5.11 catalogue. With idiots like that around is it any wonder they get pissed off with us?

Had to take a screen capture. I think someone needs to fire and rehire their research department Its a few years old though, maybe its not a Mamba but looks like a skydiving helmet. Not too sure of their ballistic rating

Apparantly much like in a call centre the staff are monitored for the average amount of customers they can get through in a n hour, or average time taken, they take time on the express tills now and again to help reduce their time so I suppose its not unusual that they put one of the slow people on their to try and fiddle their stats. Sorry to ruin your rant

I got out in cloud (Spanish DZ), last to exit as 2 way, also pulled a tad low and had no chance of getting back to DZ. Hindsight... GPS isn't always 100%, Check where you are before pulling on the lower end of your comfort scale, If the clouds are black stay on the ground, you can't see a thing and the rain stings like fuck

I've found some legislation and websites displaying what weapons can be legally owned here and its actually quite easy to get hold if your a member of a club. Pinched the following off a gun enthusiast (right terminlogy) website...

OK, I remember some posters out there saying they possessed some serious hardware and all were held legally to UK firearms laws. I paticularly recall seeing a photo of a rifle on the range. So whos got them and what are they? NOTE: I'm not here to debate on whether control is too strict or not, thats been done to death (pardon the pun) or any issues of gun crime.
