  1. I find this thread sexist and demeaning. We are not pieces of meat you know!
  2. ... and who is this innocent little angel then?
  3. Its not that disimilar to the reaction I had the other night when someone 'set the challenge' and made me play the game
  4. Another vid worth your attention... http://www.filecrush.com/files/3ball.html
  5. Remember the scary maze game? This video is classic, if cruel... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5823106073263147054&q=scared+kid
  6. Firstly, dont worry yourself before your jump although anxiety is normal. Assuming your using normal seperate cutaway handle and reserve handle then YES! The RSL is a backup. It might work, it might not. Be sure to pull your reserve handle if required. I furthur suggest that you should speak to your instructors as a matter of urgency before you go to jump. These sort of questions should have been covered in ground school. I know I had to do about 20 demonstrations in mock harness on the ground and then 3 in a suspended harness to show I was familiar with the emergancy procedures. If you have any doubts, ask to try out procedures in the harness. I think every DZ has to have one as a BPA requirement for training. May be wrong but I think thats the case
  7. Yeah, be a new discipline. RPG dodging! What a rush!
  8. All I can say is wow! Just downloaded his album. That guy rocks on guitar. Love the music. Its like a cross between Kristian Leontiou and an acoustic Radiohead. Really recommend you check him out if you havent already
  9. Animations are pretty good. I notice for level 7 they want you to exit in a sit. Seems bit odd to me. But whatever
  10. Hardcore is brilliant. I tried mixing some of that into one of my videos but I found it just didnt work. Too fast a tempo although the music and lyrics often go well. attempted.... Chemical Love - Futureworld Your Shining - Breeze & Styles Paradise - Dougal & Gammer feat Jenna Ordinary People - Dougal, Gammer & Smiley feat Jenna Addictions - Dougal & Gammer Total XTC - Breeze & Styles ... to name a few Shame cos they are my favourite songs. If you make it work let me know cos Id love to see it!
  11. Never dreamt of flying but I was an air cadet when I was younger and went on 3 flights in a Bulldog. Got to fly myself and the instructor/pilot took over and we did aerobatics too. Since then I have had a love of the air.

    Yeah, very nice trailer
  13. If its a little grey box from Windows Messenger its an advert, they give you web addresses to visit. Like registryclean.com or some shit like that. You can disable Messenger in control panel to prevent getting anymore. Gimme a sec and ill refresh my memory how. Its annoying, but it doesnt cause any harm. Just get it removed else you eventually end up hearing *ping* and a new box appears evey five seconds or so - took me ages to realise how to get rid of it. I thought was a virus at first. OK... click here for a step by step guide. http://www.lantalk.net/disable-messenger/
  14. Im afraid im no camera expert (or skydiving expert) but I wouldnt recommend getting a camera for skydiving if your profile is accurate and you only have 16 jumps. I believe the recommendation and it might actually be a ruling is 200 jumps. If you do a quick search on the topic you will find lots of good advice im sure. If your profile is incorrect then ignore me making a tit of myself EDIT: Yes, thought so... try here for camera advice http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=all&search_string=new%20camera&sb=score&mh=25
  15. Yeah, nice going. I find it quite difficult to interact with the other regular jumpers. I suppose they see so many faces come and go. Its really nice when people come up and chat, even if its just to talk bollocks. I love the atmosphere and the comeraderie too, thats half the fun of going jumping at the weekend for me. I am in that awkward stage too. Just finishing my consols and soon to get A licence. I remember my very first jump. Was AFF level 1. Last jump of the day, sun was setting, still was in tail part of summer. Everyone dropped there kit and the fridge openend. Beers all round and hung around chatting and getting to know people. Was great, then winter came and they all went into hibernation. Haha. Guess have to start from scratch again!
  16. Hey at least with RAPS you got more chance of jumping over AFF if cloudbase is sufficiently high

  19. My thoughts, as a beginner but I like to think I have common sense, would be turn 180 and pull if worryingly low. Then even if you have a 90 degree off heading opening should be OK. Plus I'd have thought better to have a canopy above your head than a partially inflated one as you hit the ground.
  20. I posted similar query as poll while ago. Check this... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1982880;search_string=uk%20dropzone;#1982880 Ahh... I think I misread. Well if you want to look at UK when you return. Still have a look
  21. Not exactly too strenuous but my AFF level 1 and instructors... Pic 1 - Stop looking at your altimeter like a watch! Pic 2 - Fallrate!? Arch!
  22. Bugsy Malone... that film rocks! Still love it today
  23. it's six days after my birthday.....duuuuuuh 4 days after mine. I win
  24. So she WAS commiting the offence of excess speed then. Expect to get a ticket Play the game. You break the rules, expect the consequences. Dont moan or complain because it just makes it worse If everyone does something, doesnt mean its OK. Explaining to the officer why you feel your being picked on just proves that you have no respect for the rules and a simple talking to wont affect your behaviour. Unfortunately the best way to make people think twice is to hit them in their pocket
  25. I've been pushed out of the aircraft plenty of times. No problem for me, but I did spend time up the wind tunnel. The most important thing I learnt in tunnel (after banging into walls) is to just arch if loose stability.
