  1. ohhh, to be back in texas..... Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  2. i own a glock 26, called the baby glock. its compact, its a C series, which means its compensated (recoil tamer) 9mm. great gun for a woman. my husband works out of town over 50% of the time, so i felt i needed the protection. i was raised around guns my whole life, shooting with my dad at age 9. and am real fond of glocks. i did own the glock 17, which are what police officers carry, but i like the 26 much better. rugers are also great for women...but i much prefer glocks. i say ROCK ON to any female learning to arm and protect herself. i dont go as far as to carry a concealed weapon, and im not even very familiar with the laws regarding that in illinois. but its something ive considered, just too lazy to do
  3. dude! wheres the cinnamon toast crunch?!!!!!!!! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  4. very cool! i wish they would call us nurses here!! 'technician' to me makes my job sound like less than it is. we are, by most literal definitions of the word, nurses!!! ie: we do all the work and the doctor signs the charts lmao. kidding, kidding. no but thats cool. i dont meet too many people on my level in the field. anyways, it doesnt get easier lol. the enthusiasm and frustration just keeps growing. its been 5 months for me and i feel like im gonna explode. use your time wisely and read read read! thats what ive been doing, too. and ive downloaded tons of videos to watch when the cravings get to be too much to handle hehe. have fun! mel Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  5. while im in no position to make a call as to what is too heavy to jump, i can say that when i did my tandem i was about 60 lbs over a healthy weight limit for my body size. im 5'10 with a larger bone structure, so while it may not have been too visible to my TI or anyone else, i could FEEL it. we slid on our landing, basically landing on our butts, and you have to hold your legs out in front of you. that was a little hard for me! now i know that jumping solo is different, but while skydiving may be less physically strenuous then say..football, i can tell already that being larger or out of shape makes things harder! i would say lose the weight first, at least some of it, just so you can enjoy your experiences more. and of course, be more safe. i know i am! ive lost around 30, 30 more to go, and am now at a point where i feel i can skydive more safely solo. just my .02. dont let anything hold you back, though dude. do whatever it takes to reach your goals. if it takes some time, and some hard work, the end result will be THAT much more satisfying. not only will you be skydiving, you'll be healthy. thats a hell of a deal. as for that jeremy guy, have some respect and regard for peoples feelings in this forum. no one attacked you, and what you said was totally uncalled for. what right do you have to be so insulting and critical of people you dont know? you could have just as easily gotten your point across without hurting peoples feelings. grow up dude. mel Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  6. hi nicole! im as new to skydiving as you are, so you're not alone here lol
  7. stuffed shells. i married an italin, so its pasta at LEAST 1 night a week. but maybe ill leave the pasta for him and grub at your place lol. that sounds really yummy! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  8. i agree. i dont know too many women who orgasm EVERY single time they have sex. i envy those who can though lmao. id never fake it, and my husband knows that just because i may not get there that night, it doesnt mean i didnt enjoy it! and it has nothing to do with his 'performance'! that poses another question that may have kind of been answered already: do men really feel defeated and/or inadequate if their partner doesnt have an orgasm? Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  9. im in the chicago(land) area. joliet to be exact. not a big fan of this city lol. not yet a skydiver persay..but on my way! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  10. its been a while since i followed electronic music (other than breaks) but i can tell you that dj tomcraft remixed that song, and john kelly did a breaks edit of it. so that may be a place to start. wish i could help more Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  11. i waited tables at 2 restaurants. cheddars, which is comparable to chilis or applebees, and rockbottom brewery which is considered to be 'finer dining' or whatever. at cheddars during a lunch shift we dropped the check on the table with the food.and if not then, when you do the first check back. and i LOVED it that way. i never got a complaint from a table, as everyone was in a hurry to get back to work. at dinner, no. you drop the check after taking plates and offering dessert.... at rockbottom if we didnt do the latter EVER, be it lunch, dinner, whatever...it was an automatic write up. our mgrs considered it SO rude to drop a check with food on the table. and the funny thing is, the customers seemed to always ask for their checks the minute i brought their food out at lunch time. of course you'll always have those few people who do it differently, and you can never please everyone, but in my experience it seems that during lunch, they want their food and their check as quickly as possible so they can get back to work! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  12. you're a buffet fan i take it? or just a fan of parrots with little sunglasses? vanilla (rosa?) makes a good point though...shaven is a definate plus for both parties on the underside. but on top, if you dont wax you're destined for itchy yucky razor burn with shaving, and thats no fun for anyone! i dont know too many men who'd go to the length of waxing, so a SHORT -emphasis on the word short-trim is good enough for me [:) im becoming slightly concerned at the amount of thought ive put into this thread lol...so im done Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  13. LOL! dirty dirty. well if we're talking facial hair, there definately needs to be some. the grizzly adams thing is a bit much, but a lil is nice
  14. lmao either my mind is totally in the gutter, or he meant another area of the male anatomy! either way, i vote trimmed! while for hygeine (sp?) purposes, shaved may be good, theres something about men being bald south of the border that just doesnt do it for me lol but overgrown and unmanicured all together is just a no no. on girls though, shaven is the only way to go...imo of course.
  15. thanks! im lookin into that restaurant..i never thought of the beer thing, but we'd both love that. and who can pass up free beer?!! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  16. hey guys. my husband and i have decided to drive down to st louis tomorrow for our anniversary weekend. problem is, we have no idea what to do once we get there. any ideas on nice restaurants, sights, clubs, bars, etc would be appreciated. we're up for just about anything, so if you have a favorite place let me know! thanks. mel Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  17. i got it all set up and im SO excited! thanks for the info! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  18. hello to you too! i feel you on the money issue...theres 2 of us trying to pinch pennies for training...we havent even started yet! this site has been helping me calm the cravings through the winter too lol. anyway, welcome and nice to meet you
  19. awww, that gave me goosebumps! it wasnt until a couple years ago that i realized how much about our world children really see and understand, and it still amazes me. thanks for sharing that! A+ for sure! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  20. hey, welcome! im new here too...to the site and to skydiving. you're 1 jump up on me, buuuuuuuut...assuming i get some info on a dz ill make my 2nd this weekend!!!! nice to meet you! btw: the DJ kid icarus? you look a lot like him in your avatar.... Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  21. i cant offer any help as im not in the area or even a skydiver yet, but i wanted to say how great i think that is. ive yet to even start training, and already ive had concerns and aprehensions about what happens once you're done with training and off student status. making friends, having/finding people to jump with, continuation of education, etc. hopefully the program you're putting together will have great success and other dzs will follow your lead! i know id welcome an offer like that! good luck with getting the ball rolling!! Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  22. lmao let me clarify: too cold where they wont let me do a tandem!
  23. hey guys, my husband and i have knocked off 1 tandem on the way to AFP at skydive chicago. you're required to do 2 there before you can start the solo training. my question is this: if i do my 2nd tandem at another DZ will it still count at skydive chicago? its been like 5 months and i dunno if i can go another 2 w/out jumping!! grrrr our wedding anniv. is sunday and jumping is top on my list of ways to celebrate. sooo..if anyone knows the answer to that question id appreciate it! oh and also, for anyone that jumps in MO (st louis area dropzone?) could you tell me if you are really open year round, and whether it will just be wayyyy too cold at altitude this weekend for a tandem? thanks yall! mel Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
  24. HAAAAAAAAAAAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY darlin'!!!! see you soon!
