FOR REAL! All I have to say is that that kid has MAAAD skills. What a friggin pimpin kid. If I was him, I would sue for all the trauma and such that I can, he must have gone through a lot of it... after they were found out and he couldn't get any anymore! What a dissapointment on his part! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Wouldn't you agree that whuffo's - in regard to climbing, jumping, kayaking, or any such activity tries to figure out the reasons we do it to justify why they DON'T? It seems like many people theorize on our risk taking behaviours and MOA and childhoods etc. to see why we can do things they are too scared to do. I am personally scared to BASE jump. But I know why people do it, and I don't try to make excuses for not doing it. I'm too scared to climb some routes my buddy climbs with ease, but I know why he does it, and i'm not making excuses, except for "I dunno bro, thats pretty scary stuff your doing". Some of my buddies think I"m crazy, others understand. Some ask why, and I don't even try to explain. Do what you think is fun. If you enjoy soccer, football and basketball, good for you, there is a lot of practice and skill involved. If you enjoy jumping out of planes or off of cliffs, good for you, there is a lot of risk calculation and guts involved. Do what you want to enjoy, and be at peace with it, quit trying to figure people out and you'll be allright with me

The difference now, Edwards said, is "we have a material that we can use to actually build it." Edwards said he probably needs about two more years of development on the carbon nanotubes to obtain the strength needed. After that, he believes work on the project can begin. "The major obstacle is probably just politics or funding and those two are the same thing," he said. "The technical, I don't think that's really an issue anymore." My dad told me about this a while ago. The strength of these tubes doesn't need two more years of research. My dad's place is already producing this and were the first ones to do so. These "microstrands" are incredibly strong. Pretty cool stuff. It'll be awesome to see pictures of the real deal. But I don't quite see the goal in the whole mission. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

I remember how me and my instructors/buddies did a hybrid on my 16th dive. Then in the end one of 'em just "tackled" me, pulling me downas he rolled around me. I was stunned, it kinda took my breath away. Instructor buddies can be way cool sometimes -

The V600 kicks all other's asses. but I dont see it on the list. If you go with sprint - go sanyo - this website has a good selection of sprint phones - the ones I sold sukked ass. R225, V66 is very basic. The 3595 is basic. very easy to use, and very durable. Nokias rock. The Nokia 3650 is your best bet. (compare it to the V300, see what you like better.) The T610 is also a great phone - although a little fragile. Has some nice features, like the joystick. Hope it helps

I like my "plakkies". But only because they are small to carry when I"m walking barefoot. - I need to go to the store, pull out my flips flops - - You walk in a crowded dirty street, pull out the flipflops - Otherwise i'll be barefoot edit to add: Walmart supplied my pair for 1.89. THey have been really durable and super comfotable. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Just returned from an "interview". I got the job starting saturday. I had a job selling phones, then left that because of ethics reasons. It was very high pressure sales. That was start of May. I like sales, but def. not the high pressure and never being good enough. After visiting with my family who were here for a month (with my first niece), back togethter for the first time in three years - coming from kentucky, toronto and australia. So then I sat around on my ass for another month, working in my parent's garden every now and then, mostly sitting on the net and playing some g-tar. My dad got pissed and said - YOU NEED TO GET A JOB! I had already aplied everywhere I thought would be good jobs, and didnt want anything else - being picky. I was sick of a crappy jobs. (but that is probably why they pay you). So Saturday Canoe Kentucky called me, and said - we have a job for you. I went there this morning, and the "interview" was basically my new boss describing to me what my new job would be. So now I will be an outdoor store sales rep. It's a family business - and she spent quite a while telling me they don't encourage high pressure sales. Thats Awesome! So hopefully I'll be really happy there, get some more money and have some good times! Who wants a KAYAK?! The river is right behind the store, and I can just swim or boat anytime. I hope this job is as kickass as I think it will be! (there is also a bouldering wall in the basement!) So thanks all for helping me with my interview techniques, but I didnt need it! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Sweet pics man, but how about the interior? A friend of mine flies medical fixed wing - and his company just bought a Bell 222UT - sweetass helicopter man. We were in downtown getting lunch, he points to the chopper, tells me they are doing a ILS approach on the helipad for the hospital - right down the main road of town. We get back to the airport, just as it does it's ILS on the runway, hovers, taxis over about 30ft in front of me turns, faces me - abt 5ft off the ground. The pilot drops it down, stops at 5 inches - holds it there for a minute, then sets it down. It was a pretty cool dang experience! I love the Bells, they are sweetlookin! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

I lived in Canyon City CO for a while... Depending on what you want to do and how long you want to stay, it's a pretty cool place if you know where to go. Skydive the Rockies is close by, as well as a great river to raft and have ton's of fun on - there are some great cliffs with pools to jump. (rafting companies won't let you, but you can always go back without them). Edit to add: Oh... right.... oct/sept...ish.. i missed that. forget the river then! VERY low and LOTSA rocks. still might be swimmable on some days though... There is some great hiking all around - nice creeks, canyons and hot springs - including "bootleggers" where they made moonshine back in the day, still there, all busted up Royal Gorge Bridge is close, (lotsa touristy stuff), the bridge is cool nonetheless, there is also one of the A frame swing things you see at Sixflags, on the edge of a thousand ft cliff, a cable car over the gorge, and a steep incline railway that will take you down to the river and back up. And CO springs is 45 min away - Garden of the God's, Pikes peak (which I thought was crap), Some bigass caves, etc. etc. so there is my essay on where YOU need to go... --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

SFC Frank Pelaez, Airborne Again At Age 81
bertusgeert replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thats awesome! Older people that skydive amazes me, and I will one day strive to be like them. I saw a lady show up one day with her grandson, and silly me thought that she was there only to watch her grandson tandem (she bought him his bday gift). I get on the load, and see grandma get on it with me! It was awesome, she was 86, and aparently some kind of national champion from back in the day. It was awesome watching an 86 y.o lady jump out of a plane before her grandson! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei! -

Where I bank they've waive all service fees for my accounts. Any -one- of these guarantees the gesture. 1) Direct deposit of my paycheck (which I really like doing anyway) 2) Overdraft protection with their credit card (I never have needed to use it, so that's o.k. too) 3) Home mortgage loan through them....(might be a tiny bit more interest, but it cost me absolutely no fees or points to open it....and just refinanced it too for a lower interest rate with the same free deal). So, if you play...they'll pay, not you. ltdiver I direct-deposit (like u said, i like doing it anyways). I have overdraft protection for my CC on there too. I don't have a loan, but I don't need one. I dont' bank at any other banks, I've alkways dealt with just them. I have a CC through them, a Debit Card, and a savings acccount. They have plenty to be happy about. But system errors do occur, and thats probably what happened. But dangit, its money, dont make errors! to ramone: when they overcharge me, ima get mad dammit! But I agree with you. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

I'll bet you $1,000 that if you max at ten pull-ups with both hands, that you most certainly can not do one pull-up with one hand. Very few people on the face of the earth can do an honest one-handed pull-up. Go try it. It's incredibly difficult to even move an inch. I know, I've tried. And, I can do pull-ups like a madman. Ok, I am only talking about the idle mans holding on to the wrist one handed pull up! Damn straight I can't do one with my other arm hanging by my side!! Now check this out, I can't do a one handed (my buddy can) But I can do a one hand one pinky pullup! its funny, i dont put much weight on the pinky, but the balance helps a ton, i can't figure it out. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

And friggin service fees. I see some money dissapear out of my savings (which I dont monitor often). I see the bank took it. I call them. "oh yeah, we charge a $4.99 service fee for under $250". Damn, thanx for telling me that you are charging me money to give you money if I dont give you enough! Then, three months later, after I kept $500 in the acount...I still see the same money dissapearing. I call them...."oh yeah, sorry, our bad, we shouldnt have done that." Keep your hands out of my pockets damnit, or i'll take my pockets elsewhere! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

HAhah, I know what your saying. I just "lost" my sister a few weeks ago. She is older, but she is my "little" sister in many aspects. I didnt know when how and where the proposal would be, but i knew it was coming. Well, she probably knew as well, but the guy faked Very well and ended up surprising her. I'm ver happy for her, and now i'm next in line. I dont think it will happen any time soon, if at all. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

nah, never was. I always knew I would skydive, I just waited for the opportunity to come along. Same thing with a lot of other things. My dad built us a big swing in the backyard, and we would often try to go "all the way around". My older brother told me he had done it, and I need to try. I got hurt several times. I also would swing Very high on it, (it was a pretty tall swing), and then jump of, (My older army bro showed me how to PLF). Fun stuff. I might go do it now....mmm... laters! --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

So why don't you simply redo the music? Make a copy of the tape so you won't mess up the original. Get two VCR's, pop in the tape, link it to the second VCR with the v-cable, link a CD-player to the second VCR with an a-cable. Now simply re-record it, playing the songs you want to when you want to. If it is worth THAT much to you, then it wont be too much of an issue to redo it. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!
