    Tipping

One of my biggest things is tipping for take out orders. Where I work, we get take out daily. Many of my co-workers balk at adding a dollar for tip. Take out is a pain in the ass and easy to screw up. I always leave at least $5 to the girls at Mimi's cafe on every take out order and I am a folk hero there. I also tip at least 20% for good service when dining in and I have tipped 100% for really good service. (waiter did magic tricks)For a few extra dollars, you are a hero. If im on a date, I tip big too. Girls like generous guys. Im pretty sure it was the deciding factor in me getting laid a few times. Mike
  2. I am seriously considering selling my gear and quitting skydiving entirely. Needless to say, it is not an easy decision. Several factors: 1. Lack of Currency - I am working a lot and do not have the time to Skydive almost daily like I did at Perris. Plus I am 1.5 hours from Skydive Dallas and the weather in TX is not always nice. Not only is there a safety factor, but skydives are not as fun when you are not as good a flier as you used to be. 2. The rash of incidents with life changing/ending reprocussions. The last incident was a gut check. There have been 3 people I have known, all way smarter than me, all fairly conservative except for that one brain fart, that have had serious accidents. Both people I know named Rich that skydive have compound fractued their tib-fibs. This sport IS really dangerous. It makes me sick to my stomach to see good people hurt in the name of fun. I feel my number is about due. Im not a chicken, I just have this feeling that I need to quit while I am ahead. Seeing all the pain really distacts from the fun. The thought of never skydiving again is also very troubling, espevially since the people in the sport have had a dramatic and lasting effect on my life and the way I conduct it. I am so much less of a materialistic, egotistical asshole because of all the people that skydive that really have their values in check. ARRGGHHH! Mike
  3. Mine is Cartman doing "DUUUHHH DUUUHHHH" when he pretended to be retarted to join the Special Olympics. When Im in certain situations, I can't answer it fast enough. I should change it but it makes me laugh...

  5. Has anyone ever seen her in a bad mood? Why her? Praying in Texas, Mike
  6. http://www.skaggsapalooza.com/kauai2.html It was a total schlongfest but it was one of the best vacations I ever had. We looked really out of place with all the honeymooners. Next time Im bringing a female or two. Mike
  7. Just got back yesterday from Kauai with Dan Cook and Crazy Larry from Perris. It was AWESOME. Get this book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0963942948/104-0778134-2433552?v=glance We went on this crazy hike for 10 miles, 5 of it through knee deep mud and the rest through these abandoned tunnels that are EXTREMELY hard to find. The first one is a mile long and you see the other end as a pinprick of light when you go into it. This is not a hike for everyone. The helicopter and Zodiac tours are a MUST. Mike
  8. A friend of mine and her friends want to come to my house till 3 am and party until Clubhouse OPENS at 4 am here in Dallas. I have to be at work at 6 am.....I really havent said yes yet (I don't think it matters) but her and her friends are sooo cute....I can be sleppy as hell, right....I CAN do this right? Mike
  9. SprintPCS This phone, and Sprint, kick ass. I went to go see my best friends new baby and forgot my camera. Here is the video and pics I took with this camera phone that I uploaded to my website. http://www.skaggsapalooza.com/ Pretty good quality for a friggin cell phone camera. You can send the pics very easy to antother phone or email address. Mike
  10. Imagine writing an article about a complex sport that you know NOTHING about. This author did an extrordinay job and deserves to be commended. A couple of minor errors but, all said, he did an invaluable service to skydiving. People with his talent are few and far between. I would buy this author a beer anytime! Mike
  11. Sheet Girl, you must be drunker than an Indian on payday to post something this racially insensitive! If you weren't such a Jew, you would offer all negros an apology by buying them a bottle of Malt Liquor. Also, I support gay marriage, as long as both chicks are hot.
  12. Christ, I was REQUIRED to watch Dukes and the A-Team weekly to maintain my status as a redneck. www.skaggsapalooza.com
  13. I actually sat next to John Schneider (Bo Duke) when I was 8 or so flying on Delta frm LA to Dallas. This was during the time Dukes was in production. I remember me peppering him with questions about his Lamborghini Countach (I think it was pink) Today, I would have peppered him with questions about Daisy. Roscoe P. Coletrane
  14. Raining almost every friggin day in Texas too! Skaggs
  15. She is coming over tonight. She is smart as hell, speaks 5 languages, plays every insturment you can think of. Ill get a picture of her tonight. Oh yeah, she's 19. Another observation: Drunken Rednecks are idiots. There were a bunch of locals that showed up uninvited. While I thought all of the cat fights with girls ripping each others tops off was cool but when the guys started after it, I kicked everybody out. Game over. All because someone got splashed in the pool. Fighting is retarted.
  16. More pics. Pilot gave a little thrill ride this morning to this girl I met last night. A true team player. And, I am taking the girl skydiving for the 1st time this weekend. The cleanup begins. Mike www.skaggsapalooza.com
  17. It was actually a Bell 407, and a badass one at that. 5 Place leather club seating. Airconditioned. Pilot is the best in the world.
  18. What we did to some trashed drunk dude that nobody knew but we weren't about to let him leave. The girls talked us out of using the Sharpie.
  19. I had never heard of this thing from Nike until a friend told me about it. I got my shoes today and they look great. The personalization is an actual threaded monogram. I figured it would be cheesy. It is really cool how many options you have. This shoe thing could get addictive. www.Nikeid.com Mike Skaggs www.skaggsapalooza.com

    Party

www.michaelskaggs.com June 19th. All skydivers are invited. See website for more info. Does anyone near here have DJ speakers and an amp? The ones I have are loud, but not ear splitting. We have a classic rock band outside during the day and we are going to DJ at night starting at 10 or so. And, no, you can't jump out of the helicopter but you might get a ride if you are female. 22. Certainly, President Regan is a man we can be proud of and Nancy was the best first lady since Jackie. I saw his White House departure speech on CNN just now. He wanted to make it clear that he led by telling you how good things can be, rather than how bad they can get. He made us eager for the future, not scared of it. Godspeed, Mr. President. Mike
  23. Well, this is going to go somewhere I think. I sent an email full of data to NBC 5 here in Dallas last night. A well known reporter called me first thing this morning and sent a news crew to Northlake. They could not find the actual city for an hour, nobody answered at the Mayors office or the police station. They are done for today but I think they smell blood. More at 10. I think they finally got someone on the phone as they were headed back to Dallas but they said they patrol the Interstate because that is where 75% of all their accidents are. They live in a town with 900 people! Of course thats where most of the accidents will be. I got radared twice on the way home today. Mike PS. That white Yukon with Nitro and DVD and all that didn't look cool enough I guess. I wonder how much this new paint job cost. See attached pic Also, seems their Chiefs of Police cant stay out of trouble. I found this in the City Hall Minutes: MOTION FOR RE-HEARING – RICKY LOVELADY Assistant Attorney General Raymond Winter briefed the Commissioners concerning the case of Ricky Lovelady. The Executive Director filed a claim against Lovelady seeking suspension of his license. Notice was sent to Lovelady at his home address of record according to the Department of Public Safety driver’s license database. Lovelady did not reply to any notices or petition and a default was entered at the administrative hearing. Mr. Winter stated that Lovelady contacted the Commission and filed a motion for rehearing after Lovelady was notified by a colleague, who read in Close Up that Lovelady’s license was suspended. Mr. Winter indicated that based upon his evaluation of the motion for rehearing, it appears that Lovelady did not actually receive notice of the proceedings against him. Consequently the Executive Director recommends that the motion for rehearing be granted and that a new hearing be held in the matter of the allegations against Lovelady for suspension of his license. Attorney Robert Wendland addressed the Commission reiterating that Mr. Lovelady did not receive notice of the hearing that led to the suspension of his license. He pointed out that at the time Lovelady learned of the suspension he was serving as Chief of Police in Northlake, Texas, and since learning of the suspension, he ceased serving in the capacity as a peace officer and has served in a civilian capacity since that time. Commissioner Stivers made a motion that the Commission approve the request for rehearing in the case of Ricky Lovelady. Commissioner Markum seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
