It's not too mean.. The email I sent below is much meaner: From: ba_bed@hotmail.com To: cimafeedback@bpp.com Subject: RE: Student Guidance - Learning 1 - CIMA Paper P3 Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2009 16:56:08 -0500 Hi there There must be some mistake. 1. I have not registered with BPP for any P3 courses, because 2. I have already *passed* P3. 3. In fact, P3 is the *only* subject I have not failed, but THANK YOU for reminding me that it is on a whole new level compared to Managerial. Since I will be attempting to pass my two other Strategic papers for the third time, I'm sure this unwanted and unsolicited advice for the wrong paper will prove highly useful on exam day. Given I'm extremely busy working mad hours because I have a demanding job, and given this demanding job is the reason I'm unable to do things like study, 20-page essays like the one you have just sent me are a great way for me to pass my "free time". Well done BPP. Once again, your emails are motivational and uplifting and don't at all make me want to scream. Bravo. Natalie PS: Stop sending me your fucking crap. (Note that I had already asked them - nicely - about 10 times to remove me from their distribution lists.. After this particular message, they stopped sending me emails, so it worked ) "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Have you ever been so sick you wanted to die?

English food, eh? Oh, for video. On a flight back from the Bahamas with my ex, she got what was probably food-poisoning. She looked like death-warmed-over, but thankfully didn't start heaving until driving home from the Detroit airport. She was able to give me enough advance warning to pull over, (thank goodness). Italian food, actually.. Funny thing is the flight attendant then came back with a barf bag for me.. I looked at her and thought "oh, gee, thanks, A BIT TOO FUCKING LATE, ISN'T IT?!!" Kudos to your g/f for having more restraint than me!! Fiew!! Well, that's reassuring.. But yeah, sometimes I think I must not be normal, as a woman, for not liking kids.. Like it's unnatural somehow. I used to think that just meant I didn't want kids. But when I inexplicably started wanting children of my own I was really surprised that I wasn't any less annoyed with the little buggers!!! Anyway.. It's not like I'll be having any kids any time soon. Was just thinking about it because of the screecher upstairs. That baby must be sick or something - it just can't be normal to scream soooo much??! Oh well, how would I know what's a "normal" amount of ear-piercing shrieking anyway?!!! Yep - food poisoning.. Had some dodgy food just before going to the airport.. Puked so many times at the airport I thought there couldn't *possibly* be anything left in my stomach.. And yet *just* as the seatbelt sign came on I started turning green again.. The flight attendant obviously didn't see the panic on my face when I got up.. She blocked my way, yelling at me that I had to sit down and before I could explain why I *needed* to use the loo I vomited all over her, myself, and 2 other people.. This was at the *beginning* of a 4 hour flight.. Hmm.. Spent the next 2 weeks feeling like I was already dead.. Not fun. I'm just telling you how it comes across to me - reading further into it would require me to be a mind-reader, which I'm not. But wouldn't it be great if I were?! Oh for heavens sake.. just go find some body's ankle to gnaw on and get over it..... Yeah, but make sure it isn't Amazon's ankle - it's enough she nearly lost her leg in her epic victory in the chainsaw combat!!! I realize they aren't being hurt. They are though, being stressed out. They entertain me enough with their natural silliness. I don't feel the need to tape up their paws to make a dumbass video. And yes, cows are meant to be eaten. Agree with LisaH. I found the narrative witty and very Engineery.. And would have found it funny if they had achieved the same result by getting the cat to purr out of pleasure instead of annoyance. So although in theory it could have been delightfully amusing, I don't think it's funny to stress out an animal "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Ha ha ha!! That all makes sense

Ah, well, the baby upstairs is only a few weeks old, so it's probably not BS screams at this point!!! I know the baby can't help it, but OMG it *still* drives me crazy "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Ahh.. Well in that case I might just be the exception!! My parents were *great*

So, at what age does this occur ? My wife of 10 months has custody of her 2-yr-old granddaughter, and her whining/crying is the only thing we argue about. I never had kids, but it seems her actions are to get her way. My wife raised 2 kids, and her argument is the same as yours -- that she's trying to tell us something. She already has a vocabulary of about 30 words.....I thinks she's acting spoiled. My wife is of the opinion that since I never had kids, I don't know shit from shinola.
-
OK, all interesting points of view.. If you've always loved kids, it makes sense to me to love your own *even* more.. Maybe it sounds awful to say that I've always found kids intolerable, but I was just wondering if anyone else out there felt like that before they had their own and whether it was somehow tolerable when it came to their own children. I'm not planning on having kids any time soon, but I can't help but hope that I would have a little more tolerance with my own kids somehow... My upstairs neighbour has had their daughter and granddaughter over for the last few weeks. The baby has an *impressive* set of lungs and seems to just cry all day/night long. It was driving me absolutely mental until I finally bought earplugs (which happily are doing the trick

*** Not as dorky as "Plan B" on your cutaway pillow. Hee heee!! It probably is a bit dorky, but it still makes me chuckle a little whenever I see it UNLEASH your inner dork, I say!! Wear the "I jump out of airplanes" t-shirt, and the necklace, and the hat - go for broke!!! Oh YAY!!

Good man!! I saved that to my desktop - I have loads of people to send it to!! Thanks also to the OP who made it all happen

I put "no", but it depends on the person/necklace. Ultimately, if the person wearing it likes the necklace then who cares what anyone else thinks?!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

Yep - can't argue with you there.. I think written communication doesn't always read the way you intended. Can't disagree with you there, but would like to point out that although everyone else may have been annoyed, they at least were polite / supportive, whereas you certainly came across as more abrasive. Also true, and that's just me. I don't mean to offend anyone by it, and I expect that in sharing something people won't always react in a nicey-nicey way. That being said, nobody likes a personal *attack*, and sometimes responses certainly come across that way. This was an isolated case where someone made me feel very uncomfortable. Perhaps if you read the PM's that I and a couple of girls received from this guy you would better understand why I started the second thread. I think this is another case of writing not being the best form of communication. To me, that last quote above certainly comes across as a personal attack. I feel it's natural of me to respond. You do seem to have taken a personal disliking to me for some reason - which is entirely your business, really. I don't think it's naive of me not to want to be personally attacked. By all means, give me opinions and feedback and question what I say.. But a little bit of niceness isn't such a bad thing.. You of course don't *need* to sugar-coat responses, but equally, calling someone naive IMO is a little unnecessary. I don't really know you, so I'm not in a very good position to *judge* you on the basis of what you post on here.. I think the opposite probably applies as well, no?!
