Well, if you RELLY need/want an argument its MATHS not math This is simply an American vs. British spelling.. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." » - my boss

But if you have not been able to make the person understand, would you not say you have failed to explain it to them? I think you have failed in your objective, but you still carried out the act of explaining. If you didn't enjoy yourself - is it still called sex?!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." » - my boss

In my opinion, some people are *better* at explaining than others.. But the poor quality of the explanation (or low intelligence of the listener) doesn't negate the fact that it's still "explaining", even if done badly. Put another way: what is it if you're *not* making something understandable? Just talking? Edit: that's still not the point I was trying to make.. Which was that some dictionary's are better than others. If you think about it, it's statistically improbable that they're all equally good... Or, the most *logical* answer.. Chop them all up and make a nice stew. Bring it across to the other side in a tupperware container

ATTN: Ladies, do you want to see naked guy post whore glory?
Nataly replied to KawiZX900's topic in The Bonfire
Where have you been?!!! Send it to me and I will add it to "name that pack"!!! Or you can just be a post whore and put it directly on there!! "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." » - my boss -
I had to let it go, because people were getting upset that *I* didn't understand!!! Oh well. I'm not sure why people get so mad about stuff that really isn't important at all??! Like your math question. I'm an accountant, and even though *I* think it's obvious, I can see how it would confuse people - it's designed to confuse!! /i]!!! Sheesh!! Wow! You should have them read this post because everyone knows that if it's on the internet it must be true. I just thought it was funny that the very source I was disputing is what they used to "prove" I was wrong!! And everyone thought *I* was being stupid..! Edit to say: This was one of those very rare cases when it really was *everyone else* who was wrong!! I was more thinking that since they get it in Kent, it might be possible to get it in London as well. Thought maybe it might be possible for me to post you some, although it seems a bit unfeasible!! Drink some Elch Blut or something - I think it has Ligonberry in it & much more potent than beer!!! what else was i going to do, i didn't have access to dz.com. I once tried to explain something at work and *everyone* was against me.. See if you can follow my logic: I proposed that not all dictionary's are created equal.. I further suggested that people seem to assume that just because something has been published in a book, it has to be true/accurate. I gave an example of the word "explain", which according to one dictionary meant "to make understandable". And I went on to say that this is not really *strictly* true, since you can explain all day and not make it any more understandable.. I suggested that a *good* dictionary might say that to explain is "an attempt to make understandable", which would be more accurate. My co-workers ALL jumped in to fault my logic.. They ALL agreed that my definition of explain was incorrect according to the dictionary!!! Sheesh!! That should do it, hopefully... Have to agree, actually.. Although it makes perfect sense to me, I think the above is the best explanation

I've just been to the moosehead website.. Looks like your gonna have to come and visit someone in Kent (England!), as that is the closest place to you that has it!!! Not sure if it tastes anything like it does back home.. Can beer be sent in the post?? Ah ha ha!! Hope your second calculation was a typo It's just that the people *think* they each paid $9 because they only got $1 back.. But what they don't realise is that they didn't get the full refund and that the rooms didn't cost $27, but in fact $25. Put simply, 25 + 3 = $28 28 + 2 = $30 "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." » - my boss
-
That *is* tragic "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." » - my boss

They didn't each pay $27.. They each paid $9.33. 30 - 5 = 25. Divide by 3 evenly = $8.33333 Add $1 = $9.333333 The Bellboy gets $2 Problem solved. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." » - my boss

I first heard about Twitter when it became one of our company's key strategies for "new" forms of advertising.. I was embarrassed, because I consider our *company* to be pretty behind the times and here *I* had never heard about it!! I don't really "get it", but I can imagine that it could become a very powerful communication tool over time. It probably already is, but I don't think it's quite mainstream yet. I will jump out of a plane, but I will not....
Nataly replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in The Bonfire
I think at least some people must be naturally immune to it.. I used to fix aircraft for a living.. I was the only one who didn't mind working in confined spaces.. In fact, I kind of enjoyed it - it felt snugg and cozy -
Yes I have to admit lisah's suggestion will work........ but why not throw down some beers just in case!!! Like he said, drink your beer whilst it warms up
