  1. OMG.. Funny you should say that.. He let himself in today *again* without telling me - I'm fucking furious. Something about the phone repair man.. Seriously, though, the landlord would have known about the repair man like 2 weeks ago when he first booked the appointment.. Kitchen was a complete mess.. Again.. GRRRHHH.. 4. Thanks mate - I will look into that. My mom is in NB and we *are* French-Canadian, so I will pass on the info to her as well
  5. Andrea's poll made me think.. Someone once told me she regularly looked at her husband's text messages just to keep him in check.. And I thought "fucking hell - don't you trust him??!" Until that day, it had never even occurred to me to mess around with someone else's phone.. I still think it would be a massive violation of privacy/trust.. Any thoughts on this? Ever been guilty of it? Ever caught someone looking through your phone? Or email? 6. This is an interesting question, which has made me think of something else (I will start a new thread).. I will answer for a man's wallet instead of woman's purse.. Generally, I consider it off-limits, unless specifically given permission to look. I think any time you look through someone's stuff and you're doing it in a sneaky way, you *know* you shouldn't be doing it!! 11. Yeah.. Been reading up on Altitude sickness.. Reckon even though I'm in good shape it sounds like it's mostly about being sensible and not climbing too high too fast.. 12. My mom has been talking about wanting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.. It's been obsessing her a little bit lately.. And I started thinking.. She and I could do it together. The only thing I'm wondering about is how tough it is?? I mean, I'm reasonably confident that I can do whatever training is appropriate to get myself in shape for the trek, but I have no idea if it would be appropriate for my mom.. Has anyone here climbed it? Or do you know anyone who has? My mom used to be super-fit, but as with a lot of people her age she's not the athlete she used to be.. She has the typical sedentary-office-job/back-pain/bad-knees you would expect a lady of her age to have.. Overall, though, she is in good health. And about 10 times more stubborn than me, so that must count for something!! Any tips or advice would be great
  13. You should, you'd be more than welcome (tho' I probably would be jeallous - Cheers Squeak).... But I'm away in France from next weekend 'till April ... just the right time to be riding again. I'm torn between getting a cheap as chips Honda CBF125 or a slightly funner Kawasaki Ninja 250R.. I can hardly wait!! Though I'm not so sure I'll be riding it all the way to France!! 14. I don't know, but I sure as hell wasn't gonna stand for it!! Stop prattling on and go for a ride Ride out to Tonys and make him jealous As soon as I find a good deal on a bike I might have to do just that
  15. Did you get it in previous years? If so, did it make you sick those times? Nah.. It's the first time I got it. And I'm not keen to try it again just to "test" whether my sickness was a reaction or just a coincidence!! 16. And why aren't you allowed to do that anymore? Something about them falling out of the sky.. "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss

  18. Years ago I used to own a Ford Probe (with the headlights that flip up..) I had to change one of the headlights whilst I was visiting my folks and my dad rocked up to me and told me like I was the biggest-moron-on-the-planet that all I had to do to change the headlight was pop open the hood, reach behind and twist the bulb out.. I almost lost it (I used to fix million-dollar-aircraft, ya know!!) but instead just stepped aside and said "fine, why don't you try and do that?" I stood there barely able to contain the tears of laughter as I watched him fumble around with it for over 40 minutes... In the end he admitted defeat, mumbled an apology and let me get on with removing the bracket, etc., to access the whole headlight. 19. I will NEVER AGAIN get a flu jab.. I'm pretty sure the H1N1 shot is only available to certain "at risk" groups over here.. But even if I could get it I got so sick after the regular flu shot I got in October that it really put me off. I don't even know if the sickness and the shot were related and I don't care - there's no chance in hell I'm going to be trying it out next year "There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
  20. I find it ironic that a pet owner could be incapable of understanding an animal's nature.. Honestly.. She lets her cat run wild & it freaks out a *contained* dog and blames you for it.. Well shit.. Dogs will bark at cats. If her cat is so traumatised she needs to keep her fluffy little pet indoors so it doesn't have to face "real life".. Or maybe you could explain to her that fluffy probably has indigestion from all the molly-coddling she gives it!! 21. Yeah.. They are a branch of the government.. The thing is.. I appreciate that I can't be the only person who has experienced problems with my licence, especially as there have been postal strikes in this country around the same time as I was doing my riding test.. That being said, however if they're going to shout about how great they are, it's only fair that they should be able to back up their statements!!! I'm glad I escalated it to the next step.. Heck.. I could have been without a licence (and unable to take advantage of winter motorcycle sales) for a LOOONG time... 22. Think I've mentioned this before, but I've been waiting and waiting to get my updated licence that shows I'm allowed to ride motorcycles.. It's supposed to take no more than 15 days.. Well, I was chasing it up and on Monday was told I had to wait 4-6 weeks like everyone else for them to look into my "query".. The same day, there was a big article in a motorcycle forum about how driver's licences would never again be lost due to a new and improved process, blah, blah.. And I thought - how ironic because *my* licence got lost about 8 weeks ago!!! So I wrote to the Press Officer that was mentioned in the magazine and quoted the article and explained my situation.. I got a phone call today from the licensing authority - they apologised to me for the problems I'd experienced and reassured me that it had been sorted as a matter of priority given the long wait I'd already experienced.. Got home today and found my licence had been mailed to me by special delivery yesterday
  23. I don't even really fill a B cup and no one has complained about my submissions to the rack thread!!! I think all boobies are lovely - even fake ones if they suit the person

Mate.. I'm not giving you excuses.. I'm giving you several examples of where I've done exactly what you suggest and demonstrated that you're wrong - it *doesn't* work. Sorry to disprove you.. I know one thing.. I hate bars and clubs.. So I'm pretty unlikely to find someone there.. The thing is Shah.. Walking up to a random stranger and getting a phone number isn't difficult. Heck.. Men who do this have a pretty good chance of walking away with a phone number as well.. It's not difficult to find *someone*.. It's difficult to find a good partner. Someone who is compatible with you & has similar goals & outlooks on life. You could spend all evening in a pub, go up to each and every person in there, and chances are you will not bump into a viable match. Then again, you could go out and do something you enjoy, and meet someone like-minded that just instantly clicks with you somehow.. This isn't about getting phone numbers. I can get phone numbers. Been there, done that. What you're suggesting isn't some kind of revolution.. Women approach men much more often than you realise.. We just don't always seem to get a response because the guy is either uninterested or clueless - either way, we face rejection too.. I don't think it's true that women just sit around waiting for men to make the first move.. Come on.. This isn't the Victorian Age.. Most of us go after something if we want it.
