Have you seen what else is on TV on tuesday night?
-
I love my Mamba..

I've had one ride on a Raven 282-M and it flew pretty much like what you described, and I was loading it around .88 or .89. I'm not sure how the standard ravens compare to the -Ms, but my experience landing it was not too fun. I ended up buying a Smart Reserve from Aerodyne when I got my own gear.

Yep, looks fun, unless the canopy stalls right in the middle of it... Seen that happen a few times..

I think you would be truly surprised how many people carry guns. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there. Carrying a concealed handgun in Texas is a felony if you don't have a permit. That motivates people to keep them well out of sight. If you do have a permit, the law requires you to keep it concealed from view. Walt Yep, I knew that. As long as they keep them out of sight, they don't bother me at all.

Eh, most parts of TX ain't that bad, hell I've lived here for all of my life and never seen someone with a gun outside of their house or a gun range. If you get too far away from the city there's plenty of trigger-happy rednecks though.

Or "That Smell" by them as well..

Bloodhound Gang - Three Point One Four....

Every time I hear that I think of the Austin Powers movie....

An update: I love flying my canopy again!!!

Yep.... But he was named Michael Bolton first, so it's the "no talent ass-clown" that should change his name... Damn! Now I'm going to have to watch that tonight -
What are some romantic things you do with your SO?

Can't remember... Haven't had a S/O in about 2 years.... and it's been great... -

Delete this before a Mod sees it. You'll get banned without a warning. And rightfully should be. That's gross. And before him I was listening to Bryan Adams. Someone rescue me!!! Ok.. Bryan Adams is ok, however the words "Michael Bolton" and "song" shouldn't even be used in the same sentence together.... -
Most Sabre/Sabre2 class canopies are in the 2.5-2.6 range.

We haven't really had any shortages around where I'm at yet, but I've heard of a few in Dallas. I've been riding the motorcycle to save on gas anyway....
-
What makes you think that because you work for a company that delivers gasoline that you have enough information to tell everyone that there's no gas anywhere? Well, he didn't say "No gas here". I'm not intending to jump all over anyone, I'm just really sick of people making broad statements based on localized observations..(it's been a bad day at work..). Sorry if I came across that way. Actually for a second I did, I've been trying to spend less time in there though...

Where are you getting this information?

Any idea what jump ticket prices will be?

It has nothing to do with you, just the winds.. A 400sq canopy can drag a tandem pair pretty easily even in light winds , so it helps to have people waiting to grab the brake lines and collapse the canopy right after landing. Edit: I'm not sure where the term "catch" came from, but I can see where it could be easily misunderstood.

Dropped a toggle during landing
justinb138 replied to HydroGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I just can't see this as a good idea. If you needed to get out in a hurry, that could eat some time. Four fingers should be plenty to be able to hold onto the toggle. Do you do this with an altimeter on your hand? -C. I'm probably not doing a very good job of explaining it. My hand will come right out of the toggles if I let go, they're not wrapped around my hand, and don't interfere w/ my alti 3. I'll try to take a picture or two tomorrow to better explain. -

That's how I do it, except I keep the line running between my index and middle finger. What altitude do you do so? That's how i usually hold the toggles after i get my slider collapsed, etc... It's pretty much impossible to drop it that way, and I won't get my hands stuck either. So I assume you do so pretty high. How about if you have to chop your main? I'll let go of the toggles and chop it. I have pretty small hands, so even with my fingers around the top of the toggle I can get my hands clear pretty easily. -
