Expired Cypres being sold on Ebay
justinb138 replied to Gravitymaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
With the attitude I've seen from him so far I'd have to agree with that statement. If you're going to jump on the bandwagon, you probably ought to have reasons. Name them. I could link all the posts with personal attacks that you've made, but it'd be easier for you just look at the last few posts. I'm sure Bill has pointed out at least one by now. Personally, I try to do business with honest people. The fact that you approve of the guy trying to pass off the expired cypres as good tells me alot about your ethics. -

Think of it as insurance. is it legal to kill an intruder in your house in america? Depends on the state, but in most is is legal to defend yourself against a threat to your life in your own home using a firearm.

Expired Cypres being sold on Ebay
justinb138 replied to Gravitymaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not really. He was counting on the fact that someone would think it was still usable to get a better price for it. True. Just because it is legal doesn't mean it is right. You can legally have a banana tree in your rig too, however, a rigger cannot legally pack a rig with one that's out of date, and you can't legally jump with one that's out of date. If you think otherwise you need to re-read your FARs. -
Expired Cypres being sold on Ebay
justinb138 replied to Gravitymaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
He intentionally left out the fact that it was expired in an attempt to mislead people that didn't know any better. It may not be a scam, but that doesn't make it right. Not quite the same comparison, as it is still legal to use a helmet after that 5 to 7 year time period. He is trying to sell something that is essentially useless. -
If its already past the 8th year, won't you only have to do one service on it? surely they wouldn't have you do two services in a row.. how does that work? Thats correct. If it's time for the 8 year, the 4 year isn't needed.

so who here jumps at Skydive Temple?
justinb138 replied to TribalTalon's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I didn't know he did any CRW stuff. I'll give him a call this afternoon -
FMC will have a good laugh regardless of the cause, even if it was their fault. In the case of my brother's truck, it took a few laywers to get it fixed.

Wow, what an asshole. -
I wish I had seen it last Friday. I think I'm going to have to go home tonight and see if I can get mine to look a little better.

They've got a guide with pictures on their website now.

Looking at the video, the canopy looks fine right up until the last twist starts to come out, where it looks like one line from the left side gets caught on something on the right side. do you have a higher res version of the video?

I don't think home depot should even be the issue. It's not like they have the resources to check the toilet seats for super glue every 5 minutes at all of the stores they own. It sucks that it happened to him, but given the huge amount of money he wants, it seems typical of many scams I've heard of before. I kind of felt sorry for the guy, right up to the point where he wanted 3 million dollars.

I wonder if they have those paper ass-gaskets in the bathroom at Home Depot. If so, and he chose not to use one, then it's his own damn fault. Still, I think that he was the one that glued himself to that seat. The odds of someone putting enough super glue on the seat in the 1.5 minute window before it dried and he sat down is pretty slim. I'd bet that it turns out to be a scam. I doubt it. He's in it for the money, and money alone. That's why they have paper ass-gaskets and wet floor signs. That's what they're there for. I doubt it. If they payed him anything they'd just be inviting more asses to be glued to toilet seats.

I may have to bug PD for a Lightning demo and make a short road trip. -
The only thing missing from this story is the "It's not about the money" quote.

Really? -
It also sets very fast, fast enough that the possibility that someone else put it there and he sat on it before it set is pretty slim. I'd bet he did it himself.

Personally, I prefer the type 8 chest strap.

Ok, weird moment. I'm at work and just got a call from a guy named Scott Lutz that works at one of our pharmaceutical vendors. I should have asked if he'd ever been skydiving.

PM KellyF and ask him

Wings freefly pud handle and brake stowage

Whats your opinion of the Aerodyne Freefly handle design? -
Thanks! I sent 'em an email.

I know, I'd just prefer the large rings if they're available. I feel that the type 17 risers are easier to grab, and I've got large rings on my rig.
