they are having a field day with the beer rules, my 25th jump was at a boogie that we traveled 12 hours for, my home dz is a cessna dz, so now i still owe 8 cases of beer and already bought 5 cases since then...ha ha I have been spending more money on beer than i do jumps and gear. the upside of it is that all my freinds are the ones i am drinking it with and we have a blast! __________________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?

does anyone out there know of a crash coarse A&P school that is less than 6 months and on or arounjd ohio or kentucky? What's the worst that can happen? -
think you have it bad? I am trying to sell everything I own to get a rig and a monday thru friday job so i can skydive every weekend instead of everyother weekend. My truck, boat, motorcycle, and old camaro are all gone if I can find a buyer. I won't even date a girl unless she is a skydiver because I wanna spend all my time at the dz. I myself was a static line student. The best advice I can offer is relax, make the big X and keep your eyes on the aircraft. Looking up at the plane will help you hold your arch, if you look down for any reason you will probably be de arching and it causes your flips. You will have to look at your ripcord when you do PRCP's but remember to look with your eyes and move only your head, not the trunk of your body and you will have no problems. Don't forget your hand movements to, doing them smoothly is a must. Practice them at home until you are sick of them and then practice some more. Make it burn into your muscle memory. Remember practicing on the ground is free and do-over jumps cost a bunch. Good luck! _______________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?

you should feel fortunate that someone is trying to take the time to teach you to pack. I have 35 jumps now and still can't pack because no one has tried to take the time to show me. I have been stretching my canopy out and trying to flat pack it and in our small packing area they have to help me because they can't pack thier own rigs until i get mine out of the way . __________________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?

Being nervous is perfectly normal, I only have 35 jumps and am just now getting rid of the butterflies. What really made me feel better was jumping with a guy who was coaching me late last summer. We jumped together again a few weeks ago and he had taken a layoff of a few months, he was way more nervous than me. Staying away from caffiene before a jump seems to help me stay more calm too. Just think about how much fun it is, but at the same time expect a malfunction on every jump. That way you will be ready if it does happen. Stay safe and BLUE SKIES! I saw a camera set up at the Mardi Gras boogie a few weeks ago that had a lens only mounted to his helmet and a wire that ran down to a camera inside a fanny pack. The helmet part was only about the size of a tube of lipstick. I would think that with a lil modifiction to smooth out the edges, it would'nt add much at all to the risk of the risers tearing it off or anything snagging it during a malfunction. A fanny pack floatation device is required for students at our dz. Would anyone endorse a set up like this for someone like me to capture my freefalls with? _______________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?

i'm not wanting to film tandems or other people in formation, i just wanna capture MY skydives on video. I know this adds to the danger during deployment and really adds to it if a malfunction is the case. that is a risk i am willing to take. ____________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?

There is not a day that goes by without me thanking God for letting me be one of the few people that really look cool on TV, one of the few that everyone else sits back and talks about how much of an idiot we must be. Every time I hear that it makes me realize that I have woke up and started "living" and not just surviving. I really love it when people read my shirts and just give me that funny look! Skydiving for me has filled every part of my life with happiness and confidence. It has given me new friends and and a new outlook on life. I am ALIVE! The downside is that it keeps me broke and I can't concentrate on anything else other than skydiving. Whats even better about it for me is that I am the only skydiver in eastern KY, so I am very different from normal here....lol. But on the other hand I am over 2 hours drive from the dz. Yeah it truely does kick ass! ________________________________________________ What's the worst that can happen?

tandems / HIV - PART 2
adrenalinejunki replied to aliveboy2004's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I support your decision, I think you should keep doing tandems. What's the worst that can happen? -
i live in kentucky as well and i jump at www.tristateskydivers.com we have a good static line program there and the people are just to freindly. we just got another plane so getting on a load is easy, we are very small but have alot of fun. by the way what part of KY do you live in? What's the worst that can happen?

I drive 2 hours on the way to my DZ, I drive 2 hours and 20 minutes on the way back! There is 1 certain spot about 3 miles from the DZ where you can see the canopies on thier way down if there is any. When I get to that spot and if I see skydivers it makes me wanna shove the traffic out of my way with my truck so I can get on the next load. (which never happens).

Have your relatives come to see you skydive?
adrenalinejunki replied to Vertifly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
my mother refuses to come out and watch me "kill myself". she cries and begs me to not go every time i get ready to go to the DZ for the weekend. both my parents have offered numerous times to pay off all my bills if i would stop jumping. the way i see it they will get used to it in another year or so! i have an exit weight of about 220lbs. i downsized from a 288 student canopy to a sabre 190 all at once. every landing since has been beautiful stand up landings. and only had 24 jumps. I would try jump a 190 to a 210 a couple jumps first. then if you feel confident that you can land it then go for it. just be careful and open high so you can try to get a feel for it before landing. breathing during freefall
adrenalinejunki replied to adrenalinejunki's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
thanks everyone for the info. i am relaxed during freefall, i know i only have 33 jumps but even on a motorcycle i can't breath with wind in my face. i can walk up to an air conditioner and put my face infront of the vents and have the same problem. it is really beginning to piss me off... lol What's the worst that can happen?
