We're having a cold spell in South Florida right now, at 10:10 pm it's down to 61 degrees and the ocean temperatures is only 74 Degrees. GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

I have to agree with Rob on this. Things were different years ago. It's not that difficult to get the required paper work and waivers to make the jump legal and enjoyable for all. Too many times the jump is made by inexperienced jumpers and things can go bad quickly resulting in a bad rap for the sport and worse, serious injuries to the participant. Not to mention the legal repercussions. GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

What wind? If the air mass is moving at 50 and your moving at 50 with the air mass, the relative wind is zero. Hypothetically there is no wind! GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

Yes! Especially those of us that only weighed 120 lbs. We would back up in any thing faster than 8 to 10 MPH winds. GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

$50.00 Civil penalty in 1969 for the jumpers. Pilot would have been subject to license suspension or revocation if he were identified (or if he even had a license). No first hand knowledge here! (However today if you opened over a SAC base you'd probably be shot down.) GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

Good explanation of translational lift! GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843 -
Lived in Texas (5yrs), Georgia (6yrs) and Florida(17 yrs) My vote would be Florida for all the reasons Kramer mentioned. Yes Central Florida and the Gulf coast get very hot and humid, therefore I would recommend the East Coast from Melbourne down to West Palm. Too crowded everywhere else. Plus the fishing is great and the water much bluer( cleaner) than the Gulf. Just my opinion

Too funny. "Watch Engineer" aka "Shift foreman" at a nuclear power plant. Not a nuclear Rolex!

Thanks Skymama. Yes that is my sister that raised me. Whatever she says is true, but I'll still have to deny most of it! GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

I've never met a shy skydiver. Mostly extraverts. Maybe just slow in posting because some of us are computer stupid! GW685,D3888,C5052,SCS843

Hello everyone! I"ve been lurking for a while and finally registered last week. New to the forum but not the sport. Thought I should introduce myself before I started posting messages.
