Hi JT, I think it ONLY affect the canopy ride (as long as you dont forget to un-collapse it when u pack...) There's 3 things I can think of that this does: 1- reduces drag (so more horizontal speed hence more lift)(wow.. I used hence!) 2- reduces canopy "flutter": next time you see a canopy land with an slidder not collapsed, look at the stab of the canopy, they'll be flapping about, and that has to increase drag 3- if you lower the slider to behind your head, it will let the risers open widder, giving the canopy a flatter shape making it fly more efficiently; if on top of that you put some slack in your chest strap, you'll really let your canopy fly its best the end result is reducing drag, alot, which will give you more horizontal speed and more lift

Very true Emma, I've had that discussion before, and some debatable things came up: 1- I do remember that recently, a study came up showing a genetic pre-disposition to doing hi-risk activities. Maybe there is an explenation why our sport is so white and male (dont ask me to quote the name of that study... I have a brain like a seive) 2- We also had a dicussion around the amount of disposable income "white" people have vs. other ethnies. I know in Canada, we had the same situation: very much a white sport, but, for exemple, the asian community was not necessaraly less affluent then average either, so not sure if that argument holds.. That being said: WHO CARES! I know that I dont care about the color of the skin or sex of who I jump with!!! The more the merrier! I havent seen one of those in EVER!!! last time I remember seeing one was about 1994..... It may be good gear: my ProDytter, allthough it functions great, needs battery once a year and now it had cracks all around the case!!!

Camping at Quincy rocks! The camping site is big enough that you dont have to be close to the parties (the 1st year I swent I was right next to it to enjoy the "full experience"; the 2nd I was further away and had a more relaxed week wiith friends) Plus, if you camp, you'll end up waking up fairly early with the sun, and get to do more skydives! After all, thats what Quincy is about.... that and partying.... or is it the other way around??? Question to the people who have been there recently (1994 and 1996 for me): has it really toned down alot on the party front? Remi

Ur right Geoff, they are south african. When I lived in Alberta, Canada, there were load of Vortex'x and their canaopies around. I dont think that its a Wings copy since that container was around before I heard of Wings... Now if you ask if its a Javelin copy, then its another story...

Aerodyne specialises in 7 cells (Tria and Diablo), of course they will say their 7 cells outperform comparable 9 cells And Icarus was positioning their VX as even more "fastester" then the FX, so of course they will say 9 cells outperform 7 cells... Personnaly, I think the only rule that can be applied and is true 100% of the time: you will go faster with 0 cells then 7 or 9 cells! (whatch out, that Luigi with his 46 will prove me wrong by going more then 120 mph vertical speed!) Remi
