  1. He was also 20 years old. I don't see what that has to do with anything.
  2. I laugh at her in death the same way I laughed at her in life - because she made herself into a joke. She's an adult and is responsible for all of her actions, including putting her private life into the public eye. I've never understood some people's need to suddenly change their opinion of someone just because they're dead. I certainly don't. The child, however, is a different story. It has not even had the opportunity to make it's own decisions, and will now have to grow up without a mother. That is the only part of this story that is any sort of tragedy.
  3. Check the "I Bet You" thread. Skim for attachments. That's really all you need to know.
  4. And all this time I thought it had to do with brain chemistry.
  5. Better hurry, I just talked to Wendy and there are only 3 slots left now. Edited to add: you can make a reservation with a credit card and it won't actually be charged until later.

  7. The Brian Germain course is the 24th and 25th of this month. As far as I know there are still spots available, but get a check in soon!
  8. That is the question... whether 'tis nobler in the store to...aw fuck it, you get the idea.
  9. Why's it gotta be one or the other?
  10. Whether 'tis nobler to the bandwidth to suffer the PA's and shower pees of outrageous postwhoring or to take respite against a sea of threads and by not posting end them? To get banned, to whore no more.
  11. Not bad, but if you really want to get into some long sentences, take a lesson from Thucydides.
  12. Would you please point me to the exact verse you are quoting, and also to anywhere else in the Bible where Islam is mentioned? Thanks.
  13. They're pretty much equidistant from me so, weather permitting, I could probably be convinced to take some time off and go to either.
  14. Whew! For a second there I thought you were going to post the pics you PMed to me.
  15. Whether or not it *feels* manufactured, it *is* manufactured. And whether or not one chooses to celebrate it doesn't change that fact either.
  16. OOOO, I'm sorry, the answer we were looking for is "yes." But thanks for playing.
  17. Wouldn't it be more like a pop n hop?
  18. Sticking it on what, exactly? Making a bit of a sausage sleeve, are we?
  19. Awww, do you need a hug?
  20. Did you miss the part where this is a joke?
  21. It's the same argument against seatbelt and helmet laws that has been used with varying degrees of success. Basically it seems as though our society knows that we must protect our citizens, but has yet to decide if we must protect each individual from themselves. The only legitimate reason I can see to ban the using of gadgets while crossing the street is not to protect the pedestrian, but to protect the people in the car from injury and property damage due to someone elses stupidity.
  22. Not necessarily. The way that I understand it (and if someone else knows more about it, please jump in) Karma is the sum total of one's voluntary deeds (including thought) over the course of one's lifetime. It isn't a system of retribution or reward, it just is. Some religions who believe in reincarnation do believe that one's Karma affects their next incarnation, but that's not a fundamental precept of Karma itself. But the reason I don't particularly understand the western interpretation of Karma is that there is this idea that a single action is directly punished or rewarded based on that action's goodness (or lack thereof). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't found this concept anywhere but in western philosophy (at least not as it relates to Karma).
