To the O P ...Regardless of whether it is a Recommendation....... OR a BSR..... It could be wise to consider this... once a person reaches any such > " Magic Number"..... that alone does Not Automatically Qualify one, to do ANYTHING.... some need twice the number. some ten times the number... One reason why "just a # "... should NOT be the determining factor.. with camera(s).. it takes an awful lot MORE....like good judgement, SECOND nature.. flying skills... ( and THAT often takes a ton of jumps...) an Open Eye and an open Mind, and the ability to not allow our enthusiasm to overshadow our common sense.. It's the type of discipline where,,, at first at least, those who are always at the EDGE of the envelope,, need not apply. imo jmy

maybe Santa Claus can look into getting him a 6 month 'renters insurance' policy..... just in case... never owned such a policy (have had HomeOwners for 30 years ) so not Sure of costs, and terms etc.. but it could help with any sort of mishap and even cover loss from theft or burglary either while the place is vacant, or anytime through the end of his stay. Sure HOPe that freezing pipes won't be an issue,, i think it has to get REAL cold, for a long time..... however if the supply lines are PVC, instead of copper... they could be more vulnerable.. lots of good suggestions here.. i can remember it distinctly... I was in the 5th grade... the teacher had asked me to carry "the S R A Reading Program BOX." which was a color coded reading program, with short stories that were increasingly complex, as the colors changed, from our class room to the 3rd grade Classroom, on the second floor of the school.. I was waiting at the door of the 3rd grade Room, when the loudspeaker came on. with.. "May I have your attention, Boys and Girls"..." President John F Kennedy has been shot"...i stayed in the hall for a while, then delivered the Box and returned to the 5 th grade...I could Tell it was SERIOUS.... It was the first time that i could recall that the normal TV schedule was interrupted for 3 days... With specials, news reports, and funeral services....I too WAS watching, during the transfer of the 'accused assassin' when the man with the Hat, stepped forward and shot the prisoner right in the belly... WE could SEE the grimace on the face of Oswald, as he went down... quite dramatic.. 3 years later i would start High School at the newly built and named, John F Kennedy High School in Westchester...NY It was within the NY City Archdiocese and On the Day of the Dedication, (actually a few years later, '69 or so,,,,) for the school , Jackie Bouvier Kennedy and the Arch Bishop, were in attendance...I saw her step out of the limousine 20 feet from where i was standing on the sidewalk. Amazon..... I Too have OFTEN wondered,, just where this country would have been,, had JFK remained alive and continued serving as P O T U S .... ....Might very well have been... Camelot!! Real hard to believe it was 47 Years ago.. wow jmy

we don't HAVE a healthcare program in this country we have a SICK care program..... poor choices are made constantly by people who maybe unknowingly,,, eat All the wrong foods... over indulge, and do NOt excersize nearly enough.. The "fast food industry" while starting to come around, now,,, has helped to create the obesity crisis over the last 20 or 30 years.... People are waaay too easily influenced about what to eat, or drink, and quick and easy,,, is certainly NOT always the best for us... We've eliminated recess and High intensity Phys Ed programs, from our schools.... Kids' idea of Play.... no longer consists of running around outside but simply hunting under the sofa, for the remote control... who can we blame???? anyone who recognizes the seriousness of the situation, yet does little to make any changes. Individuals, Parents, Educators,, BIG Business... ADVERTISING agencies,,, and of course, the local , state, and federal Govts..... I fear it's gonna get worse.. before it gets better... and i wouldn't want to be working in the medical care field,, for all the money in the world.. Doctors, who start out with all the best intentions, and optimism, and energy, certainly have to be scratching their heads,, when they see, patient after patient who has put himself or herself, into bad physical shape... through poor choices...day after day... not sure what the answer is..... capiltalism coupled with our "freedoms"... leaves little room to make the needed common sense decisions and changes.... since absolutely NOBODY today,,, wants to be, "told what to do ".... jt

Old Country Grandmas are the absolute BEST..... Always the greatest of cooks... Always there, to comfort a "sad little italian boy" when he needed it. Always wore an apron,, EXCEPT when it was time for church, in which case she sported a fine and elegant dress, the approriate head wear,,,,and those Black Shoes, with the bulky heels, that grandmas ( at least Mine ) always wore...!! i too had blast handle triggered reserve deployments,,,,,,twice Both of them were on a piggyback rig. without a "main ripcord, with handle cable and pins..." The main was a hand deploy, soft padded handle. Square, throw out pilot chute. First one,,, was a total on the main, # 1 jump on the rig, the belly band was too loose,, ( cause i listened to one of the DZ "experts" who said,, "you don't wanna tighten that down TOO much ")... i grabbed the handle AND the mouth of the pouch all at once, and while pulling.... MOSTLY Nothing !!! was happening.. I had exited at 3 Five,, and was booking along pretty good,, when i went to Plan B.. second was a P C I T due to a twisted belly band... same rig... YIKES!!! That Blast handle Now serves as a Pull chain on a ceiling light in my basement..!!! I used a bench grinder to shape the end of the pin,, in such a way that i could clip it onto the little attachment point that normally holds the tiny steel ball of a pull chain... I smile,, every time i see it..... as for jump suits.... the standard was "Sears" , until of course the "DynaSoar" and "Brand X" came around... jmy

airtwardo, I did not stop... but certainly DID slow down... There were a few local dzs within an hour and a half drive, some within 30 minutes, and i always felt welcome at all of them. I LIKED the people with whom i jumped and i would have missed them if i quit... Plus... who was I to deny all those drop zone friends, the pleasure of having ME around !!!!?????

i have felt, for a long time now.. that elected offices should be filled by Economists Scientists Engineers Educators Physicians and a few ( middle of the road type ) Religious Leaders.. Not Attorneys Career Politicians Ego Maniacs Party Partisans and other Spotlight Cravers... i think it will happen NOT in MY lifetime!!!! too bad.. jt

surgery 5 years ago, YESTERDAY!!!! had both the block and general.. my rotator cuff was a real mess, the result of a number of injuries, over many years.. The repair was only partial... i'm just "ok " now. the whole idea of the nerve block,,,, is so that they can SEND YOU HOME,,,, the same day.... and you are not screaming in pain... Once that wears off.... it's a tough first week.... hang in there.. good luck jt
