  3. skymama wielded that paddle....with both authority AND enthusiasm.. tspeed was stoic, as the recipient...!!! the Sounds of the Spank...are still vivid in my mind!!!! Oh mama!!!!! turtlespeed...luv ya Man!!! see ya' next time... jmy
  4. good point... couldn't trained rescuers in harnesses, be tethered by safety lines, to a damn Crane...and lowered into the hole to search for and recover the victim.... , as per reports that i have seen it wasn't real deep.... and it must have had some sorta bottom>>> but Maybe Not...If the soil got unstable the Emergency people could be Pulled UP....no????? amazing that in the State of Florida, a guy named Bush,,, is involved,,, and they don't spend hundreds of millions to go get him......i always thought that Fla. would do ANything.... for someone named Bush... jmy
  5. i must admit M & R are unknown to me..... but i don't get around much... However,,,,,I WILL take your endorsment, as evidence enough, about them..(Him), and will be watching/listening.. good job.
  6. very sorry you broke something...heal quick. But....when someone is "working on a plane" it might be best for the mechanic, the owner and all future passengers... If the A&P person is Not disturbed...at ALL... ..much less "helped"...ya' Know??? time & place for everything sorta thing... jmy
  7. i believe that Dark Side of the Moon is the album which synchronizes to the beginning of the movie The Wizard of Oz..... I have Never checked it out, myself but it IS said to match up well. Begin the play of the album, when the MGM lion,, roars!!! @ the start of the film... has anyone ever tried it?????
  8. for true European Guys....maybe,,, or if a guy is a member of JOES...
  9. while it's always nice to have a "good looking interior "........ wouldn't some sort of covering,,,which is attached to the vertical framing ribs, cause you to LOSE the Usable Space??? between the front of the rib and the actual skin of the fuselage??? i know the depth that i am talking about is only 2 or 3 inches but that space CAN give the jumpers that little EXtra elbow room ,,,,, on BOTH sides of the cabin..... which CAN make a difference between comfortable and cramped... just sayin' jmy
  10. Great pics! Especially the 3rd one. Yes!!! i agree....
  11. not EVERYthing is spelled out in the form of RULES... but your DZO was Not Bullshitting you......whether it's a FAA rule or not, or a USPA " recommendation"...or not.... is just semantics... 200 jumps is the commonly accepted level of experience required......Minimum !!! Common sense factors in, as well.. and usually in THIS sport/business.... The DZO may decide What does or doesn't happen on His/Her Dropzone....Surely you can appreciate that... cool your jets. Learn how to skydive safely...( what's this about a premature opening???) All things in good TIME!!! only for YOU....... NOT right NOW you have to live with That.....

    Meteor?

was this event a surprise?? considering the fact that we have heard about an asteroid for weeks now... which "passed between the planet and some of our orbiting satellites ", it seems that Somebody has had an Eye out,,,monitoring the situation...and watching the skies. If so, why wasn't someone WELL Aware of this other,, "Incoming bogey" or were they???? and i am just not aware of that fact..... i haven't read an awful LOT on it, but did see some information about it... DID the area have at least " a ten minute call"... or did this meteor truly come from, out of the blue???
  13. better yet... never scorn a woman never feel the wrath... sometimes people bring things on themselves!!! and then wonder WHY!?!?!?!
  14. not bad....for a guy who is only 39 years OLD !! congrats...
  15. i have LOTS of friends , and i bet so do YOU.....so that's not the issue between US... more Importantly!!! HOw much SNOW did you get????? do you still have Power.. the news is showing some Heavy duty snowfall in your area... good luck !!! jmy
  16. Have they called in... The national guard or the US Army yet????? "Rambo RAMBO !! " "Come in Johnny",,,, "we'll protect you " ........^..... ......^^^... ....^^^^^.... NOT likely
  17. My point still stands. You can choose to ride the plane down. Nobody forces you to have a long spot. with all due respect.... a group that lingers a LONG time in the door,, coupled with a P I C who "prefers" NOT to do go arounds, ABSOLUTELY forces those who are later in the exit order to "have a long spot".......and that's not fair.. Ride the plane DOWN??? No thanks... jumpers are IN the plane,,, To SKYDIVE... most places do NOT re-issue jump tickets to those who LAND with the plane.... (unless things have Changed ) While it isn't specifically written in FAA lingo OR in the BSRs....a Big part of our sport IS and should always be..... Courtesy to Others.. i sure hope we are ALL in agreement about That. jmy
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=NtpYzeBnuaE ......as they Say...just @ Rotation...... FLY BABY FLY
  19. "from ONE Jimmy , to Another Jimmy ,,,," nice post !!! i figured out a long time ago that skydiving can offer a world wide passport to dropzones near and far... though i have yet to REALLY utilize that benefit... it's great to see solid evidence of IT.... as you have described... carry ON
  20. Re: "anything else to add"... as you progress beyond solos you need to also consider IF others are in the air WITH you... even if they are part of ANother group who may have exited AFTER you..... i'd be careful in recommending that a jumper "JUst PUlls" if he or she is unsure of altitude.... just as you must when pulling at Normal/Known altitudes....be sure to Check for others and clear your back, first . and as you mentioned,,, wave off. safety first and what the Hell,,, safety second too. jmy
  21. not nice ? well it is ALL fact. welcome to these forums. you register this morning, ask a most provoking question and then include some silly comments, two of which i couldn't even understand. you start with your "wants" ...hahaha that made me laugh !! It's better to think about 'needs' when you consider skydiving,,,,, like knowledgeable staff, Safe planes, good gear and instruction, and many other important needs which you don't yet seem to realize..... EVEN exist. No Rules might work in some things,, but usually not.... for Dropzones.. You may never SEE the rules,, and you May think are ARE none..... at a dozen or more dropzones,, here and there.... But you'd only be showing a degree of inexperience to think that such an approach is Ever a working game plan.. I came here in hope of a legitimate discussion about what OTHER forum members might have to say about "the best dz in the World "... ..... So i'll check back later. My travels are limited and certainly NOT world wide...but i always enjoy learning about ANYthing related to jumping..... There already ARE Great and BESt DZs allll over. Few if any have a Hot Air Balloon ON the flight line (maybe Eloy) and so usually make Those arrangements with a local expert in the field, for occasional and special "Balloon Jump" events and boogies. Sorry about your stilleto, It may be better NOT to leave it laying in a heap, unpacked and near enough to the Cat... i could see where they would WANT to get well involved in Playing with it.....
  22. So the foursome is on the 16th tee and as the guy is teeing it up and about to swing....
  23. The Best ??? coffee??? That's EASY..... The One ( or Two ) cups which are offered to me... By friends,, from the coffee maker in their camper/trailer....... within a few minutes of my arrival @ the DZ ...
  24. nothing wrong with BOTH..... digital...if you have one... BUT hard copy as well.. for Back-Up ANd for sign-offs.... i've always been a log book sort of person and sometimes enjoy going back and re-experiencing skydives... EVEn if they are from years ago.... Not enough time???? to fill out a logbook??? nonsense.... it doesn't have to be immediately AFTER each jump....and can be done Instead of spending time ON a computer.. jmy A 3914 D12122
