Hey Brent, the Russian troll who just posted a pro-conspiracy theory meme agrees with everything you just said. Surely you realise that can’t be good?
-
The ‘instead’ in that sentence refers to what the school is focussing on, not what the governmental systems are. Learn to read. (BTW, even if you are claiming you’re only wrong because you were copying someone else, you’re still wrong.)
-
Yes, you’re not even on the same side as your own dictionary.
-
Hey Brent, this is the one guy on your side again. Doesn’t that worry you?
-
That's literally you. The US is a democracy. It is a perfect fit for both the definition of a democracy and for the popular understanding of the word. The US Government source you quoted explaining that the US is a particular type of democracy does not make it not a democracy. You are pushing a semantic argument that is both pedantic and wrong.
-
What does who is winning have to do with peace? You don’t want the war to keep going until one side definitively wins, do you? We know that right now Ukraine will only make peace if Russia leaves their land. In the name of peace Russia should retreat from Ukraine, shouldn’t they? That would make you happy, wouldn’t it?
-
Not one person ever said that And isn’t that just a pointless tragedy? Russia should retreat and make peace instead of pursuing this war, shouldn’t they?
-
And all 8,000 could have been alive if Russia had withdrawn and negotiated peace. They really should do that, shouldn’t they?
-
Hey Brent, this guy agrees with you. Do you think that’s a good sign or a bad sign?
-
And you didn’t see anywhere they said it wasn’t either. They said the USA is commonly called a democracy and they didn’t disagree. Which is no great surprise, since both the fundamental dictionary definition and popular underrating if the word ‘democracy’ both apply to the government of the USA.
-
No, you have misunderstood. All of that means that the US is a particular type of Democracy.
-
In what way does that change the reality that you are wrong to state that the US is not a democracy?
-
That sucks. Russia really should stop surrounding Ukrainian forces and retreat to their internationally recognised borders so there can be peace, shouldn’t they?
-
The two are not mutually exclusive, as you should have learned. democracy dɪˈmɒkrəsi noun a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. If you’re going to be pedantic, you should at least be right.
-
You just said a third of all Americans are. Imagine how popular an action must be if a third of the population is happy for their tax bill to go up in order to support it.
-
It very much sounds like that’s the plan now. The UK government has been the first to actually talk about jets to Ukraine, but giving them our Typhoons makes no sense operationally. Eat theory is well help provide air cover over Poland while their Migs are backfilled with newer jets. Problem for Ukraine is that while the Migs are far better than nothing they’re not equipped with the kind of weaponry that will really help near the front line now that Russia’s air defences are solidly set up.
-
But not that. You just said he’s doing that completely wrong.
-
But that’s the opposite of what he’s doing. He’s wasting time and resources on stuff like that, instead of focussing on education.
-
That was the thing Trump understood like no-one else. Admit nothing, apologise for nothing, double down on even the craziest falsehoods and people will see it as 'strength'
-
Ah he knew what he was doing with this one. It was good line, I’ll give him that!
-
No one has suffered like you have suffered!

BTW, regardless of the absurdity of totally not-gay people becoming gay because it’s cool, why is it a problem for you if it is cool? If the thing is ok, why is the fashionableness of the thing a problem? Like, since streaming came along vinyl has made a massive comeback because the sound quality is better, but now a lot of people are also into records because it’s trendy again. So even though being into vinyl is ok, should I have a problem with it being fashionable enough that people buy record decks just because it’s cool? Is that a bad thing now?
-
Oh get a grip. At what time in your life do you feel you’d have been susceptible to being peer pressured into having sex with a man because it was cool?
-
It's not only Conservatives mucking up our schools

But they do. You know what else their utopian tablets let them find out about? Porn. Andrew Tate. Neo-Nazi recruiters. There is an insane amount of information being thrown at their little sponge brains by bad actors, more than ever before. You think they all just naturally see through that? How naive are you? But what is ad nauseum? We know it's not every lesson, don't we? So what are we actually talking about? -
Your point, specifically confirmed several times, was that it is literally true that they are subjected to a fifteen minute teacher led gender discussion at the start of every class. But that’s absolutely not true, is it? They’re not subjected to a fifteen minute discussion in every class. They’re just subjected to a bit more than they’d otherwise like to hear. But how much is that? Fifteen minutes a day? Fifteen minutes a week? Fifteen minutes a month? How much are you actually saying is too much? Because it sure as hell isn’t what you claimed.
