Missouri to execute old man missing part of his brain
jakee replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah, 'cos the one thing everyone knows about partial lobotomies is that eventually you get better. Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Yes, that certainly clarifies it. Indeed. As we should expect from Rush it was a wonderfully witty, en pointe jest and not even close to being a jarring non-sequitur. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

I heard they now dominate most of Persia. Their rampant expansionism must be stopped! Do you want to have an ideagasm?

That really is the opposite perspective. I find it fascinating that a discussion that began with whether doctors should be allowed to speak about a particular topic has since been framed almost entirely around whether they or others should have to talk about a range of topics. To the point where, honestly, I have no idea what any of you guys are even trying to accomplish right now. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Fox News is the most trusted television outlet for news.

Uhhh, no. That's not how it works. Not even close. Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
So how long ago did your wife run off with a doctor? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

I'm pretty sure Lego is like sheep (stay with me) - no matter how many sheep you have, they're not sheeps. Likewise whether you have one piece of Lego or many pieces of Lego, they're all Lego. To be honest though, it's probably not important. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

No idea. I doubt many kids are strong enough to topple a refridgerator, so I'd guess that's not a problem. An angry adult could, but they'd need to make sure the victim was standing right in front of it which could prove difficult. What am I rationalizing? Well, I'm glad you're here to set us straight on that! I might never have noticed otherwise. I was unaware a fridge had been equated with a firearm at any point. I thought I was using irony to make a point about the neccessity of general vs specific regulations. Wait a moment though, maybe I misremembered. Nope, that was definitely what I was doing*. I think you should review the advice I gave to Rushmc a little earlier. * Unless I got 'Irony' wrong. I'm like Alanis Morissette there sometimes. (No Alanis, it's not ironic! All those things are just unfortunate, that's all!) Do you want to have an ideagasm?

You bastard, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! Although, don't they get offered loads of bribe er, ahem, freebies? Ok, we're all good Do you want to have an ideagasm?

The point is that it's probably redundant. Any reasonable healthcare service should already have general regulations covering such instances instead of needing a specific provisions for any object you could care to name. Otherwise you'd end up with a countless number of [Insert Item] Owners' Privacy Acts. Unless you agree with a doctor being able to refuse treatment if a patient refuses to answer questions about what brand of refridgerator they use? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
-
From the link you posted, one patient was told she would have to find another doctor when she refused to answer her doctor's question about guns. Do you agree with a doctor being able to refuse treatment if a patient refuses to answer? That sucks. I would hope and expect that there were already regulations in place regarding arbitrary refusal of care that would cover such a situation. But I'm not american, and you guys tend to view healthcare very differently to the rest of the world Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Learn to read, Rush. It'll make all our lives easier. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

I think you're wrong, you're looking at it in the wrong way and that's why there's a disagreement. A cop can ask you questions about pretty much anything, he needs cause to hold you and compell an answer. That's where I think you guys are getting fuzzy, the difference between asking and demanding. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
-
No. As you well know he did not 'simply suggest' that someone take a ride along, and you're being deliberately disingenuous by describing his post as such. He stated that no-one had any foundation to criticize the cops unless they had one a ride along.* So it does follow that no-one should be able to defend the cops unless they've seen and experienced the bad side as well. Right, because the experience of one shift with one officer should be axtrapolated to cover all behaviour by all officers. Maybe you haven't heard this one before, but the plural of anecdote is not data. *(he also said that anyone who hadn't was a coward, but that's not really relevant) Do you want to have an ideagasm?

So do you think there should be a law regarding when and how doctors can talk to patients about cribs? Do you think there should be a law regarding when and how doctors can talk to patients about bicycles? Clearly. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

So what were you, Rush? Right or wrong? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Iran wants to ban vasectomies and cut access to contraceptives
jakee replied to Driver1's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you insinuating they want to grow a larger population to support a larger standing army to then project their power over the region? Then, Iran's policy of population restriction over the last few decades should have been seen as a reason not to be worried about them, yet we still kept hearing about them as a threat. Which seems to make this a kind of 'boy who cried wolf' situation, doesn't it? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Hell no! That's odd, since you seemed to concede that you were completely wrong. You need the Evelyn Woodhead Speed Reading course People in glass vocabularies shouldn't throw insults So are you saying you were correct, and that UK politicians are planning to 'ban' climate change opponents? Take the course You need it Oh, you might want to see if you can find a reference to this course Oh Rush, you are too cute for words. It's actually quite amusing that you've taken the effort to make sure that post contained correct spelling and passable grammar (if not punctuation). Though it just highlights how lazy and feckless you usually are, doesn't it? Back to topic though, are you now refusing to say whether you were right or wrong over your politician claim? Hoping that it can go unchallenged if you keep it in some kind of limbo? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

So that's your way of saying "I'm sorry, I was completely wrong" is it? Charming Do you want to have an ideagasm?

By that token, until you've done a ride along with a corrupt, racist or physically abusive cop then you have no further use defending them. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

That's because the police are good and trustworthy, and it's offensive to suggest otherwise. The people that police the police are biased, politically motivated and dishonest, as any reasonable person can see. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
