  1. Really? Airdvr looked at the syllabus and changed his mind. Have you looked at the syllabus. Which bit is indoctrination? Evidently the community voted these elected officials to represent the majority. Unless you think that the elected officials shouldn't represent the people that elected them. OK, so (leaving aside the idea that elected officials should do everything their constituents want) now I have two questions. 1) (Again) Have you looked at the syllabus and if so which bit is indoctrination? 2) How do you know the majority of Oklahomans don't want their kids to be able to take AP US History? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  2. I stopped listening after he said he was responding "apologists for Jihad" who talk about "justification for Jihad" so "lets stop talking about Jihad". Who are these people? Who espouses the argument that Jihad is OK because of the Crusades? Who is he arguing against? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

  4. What evidence do you have that AP writes it's courses with a liberal agenda? OTOH, we know that the people objecting to the course have a conservative agenda which they don't think is being fulfilled. Why should AP be railroaded into pushing a conservative agenda over historical accuracy? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  5. Umm, you might want to look up how advanced placement works before you get into who's ignoring facts, mmkay? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  6. Wow, it's a good thing you highlighted that, otherwise I don't think anyone would have noticed that the article was about AP history. Your detective skills are truly outstanding. Really? You going to back that up in some way, or just take it for granted? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  7. Benghazi didn't cause anything. Benghazi was nothing more than a symptom of the collapse of the Arab Spring. One event in a region wide descent into widespread violence. I don't think you'll find a person outside of the USA who thinks Benghazi was a turning point for anything. Yeah, because Carter invaded Iran, removed the government and left a huge power vacuum. Yeah. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  8. I think in more cases criminally charged. Take Sutterlin in this case - he admitted trying to put someone he knew was innocent in jail for 5 years. To me, that's worse than the beating. I would say it's on a par with kidnapping except that a kidnapping victim doesn't end up with a criminal record (and all of its consequences) for the rest of their life as well. And what happens to Sutterlin, he just retires. Great Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  9. There is a vast, vast gulf between 'two people' and 'everyone'. Similarly, a description of systemic corruption does not require every cop on the force to be corrupt, much less a violent thug.* Rather, it means that there is regular misconduct which has been accepted within the organisation as 'the way things are done' - whether that's the use of excessive force, or just looking out for a brother officer. And when even the Internal Affairs department can be described as scandal ridden, and has all its investigations taken away and officers reassigned then it is highly unlikely that there was nothing dodgy going on. * Which wouldn't even follow from a reasonable misunderstanding of Kallend's post, and you know it. 10. Which one is tumble dryer safe? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  11. Well yeah, that's one solution. Seems to me that it'd be easier just to remind the cops not to commit aggravated assault on people just because they don't speak english. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  12. What he probably means is that atheism wasn't the motivating factor in religious purges, but that they were politically motivated in removing any competition to the total authority of Marxism-Leninism / Stalinism. Let's face it, Soviet purges were hardly limited to religion. Of course, this means that atheism isn't a barrier to genocide and a predominantly atheist society wouldn't automatically be a utopia - luckily though no-one is claiming that there's a book of atheism which is the font of all morality. TWA 800

Usually I can't stand it when people say what I'm about to say, but in this case it is absolutely accurate - you're a sheep. You've swallowed what the conspiracy evangelists are peddling hook, line and sinker, and as I said already you're using their stock, predictable attacks to avoid having to question your acceptance of their paranoid fantasies. You are afraid of the truth. I don't need to dismiss 9/11 conspiracy theories in order to justify the War on Terror because I don't support the War on Terror. I dismiss 9/11 conspiracy theories because they're insane. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

    TWA 800

You do realise that you're not an original thinker, you're just a programmed drone of the conspiracy theorist sub-culture parroting overused, entirely predictable ad-hom arguments and strawman positions, right? The vast majority of the time, when people disagree with your pet conspiracy theory it's not because they're afraid of the truth, it's because your theory is insane. Just like when people dismiss your pet 'high level cover-up' theory it's hardly ever because they think everyone in government is squeaky clean and on the level, it's because your theory is insane. 21. BERLIN, Germany – Former UN chief Kofi Annan blamed the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq for the rise of the Islamic State (ISIS), warning that the Middle East must evolve and adapt for lasting peace. Annan, who was speaking Sunday at the Munich Security Conference where many world leaders and ministers have been discussing global issues that include the wars in Iraq and Syria, said he had always opposed the US invasion of Iraq. “The folly of that fateful decision was compounded by post-invasion decisions,” he said in a speech. “The wholesale disbandment of the security forces, among other measures poured hundreds of thousands of trained and disgruntled soldiers and policemen onto the streets,” he noted. “The ensuing chaos has proved an ideal breeding ground for the Sunni radical groups that have now coalesced around the Islamic State label,” he said. Not sure what you can say to someone who thinks ISIS (what does that stand for again?) has nothing to do with Iraq. Of course it does. Not just from the invasion, but from the ludicrous optimism and complete lack of contingency planning surrounding what would happen post-invasion. MR. RUSSERT: If your analysis is not correct, and we’re not treated as liberators, but as conquerors, and the Iraqis begin to resist, particularly in Baghdad, do you think the American people are prepared for a long, costly, and bloody battle with significant American casualties? VICE PRES. CHENEY: Well, I don’t think it’s likely to unfold that way, Tim, because I really do believe that we will be greeted as liberators. I’ve talked with a lot of Iraqis in the last several months myself, had them to the White House. The president and I have met with them, various groups and individuals, people who have devoted their lives from the outside to trying to change things inside Iraq. And like Kanan Makiya who’s a professor at Brandeis, but an Iraqi, he’s written great books about the subject, knows the country intimately, and is a part of the democratic opposition and resistance. The read we get on the people of Iraq is there is no question but what they want to the get rid of Saddam Hussein and they will welcome as liberators the United States when we come to do that.... MR. RUSSERT: The army’s top general said that we would have to have several hundred thousand troops there for several years in order to maintain stability. VICE PRES. CHENEY: I disagree. We need, obviously, a large force and we’ve deployed a large force. To prevail, from a military standpoint, to achieve our objectives, we will need a significant presence there until such time as we can turn things over to the Iraqis themselves. But to suggest that we need several hundred thousand troops there after military operations cease, after the conflict ends, I don’t think is accurate. I think that’s an overstatement. MR. RUSSERT: We have had 50,000 troops in Kosovo for several years, a country of just five million people. This is a country of 23 million people. It will take a lot in order to secure it. VICE PRES. CHENEY:... But the—again, I come back to this proposition—Is it cost-free? Absolutely not. But the cost is far less than it will be if we get hit, for example, with a weapon that Saddam Hussein might provide to al-Qaeda, the cost to the United States of what happened on 9/11 with billions and billions of dollars and 3,000 lives. And you can't say they weren't warned - they just looked for the intelligence they wanted to hear. Admiral Lord Boyce said he tried in vain to persuade defence officials in Washington that the coalition forces would not be greeted as liberators. He told the inquiry: "I could not get across to them the fact that the coalition would not be seen as a liberation force and that flowers would be stuck on the end of rifles and we would be welcomed and it would all be lovely... "This was absolutely not accepted. I think, as far as the Pentagon was concerned, both the civilians in the Pentagon and the uniforms, they just thought that Iraq would be fine on the day." 23. He posted on his facebook and social media that's not enough?? It's not enough - because what he said in those posts is not what you said he said. What Andy is getting at is that the parallel you are trying to draw between him and muslim criminals won't be very persuasive if you are distorting the facts in order to accentuate that parallel.
