  1. Explain why your negative, critical objections are true. For instance, shared mediocrity. Under the previous paradigm, State laws had developed to stop municipalities from doing this " Local governments in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Wilson, North Carolina, have built their own fast networks... [Chatanooga] is one of the only places on Earth with internet as fast as 1 gigabit per second – about 50 times faster than the US average." Now the FCC has opened the door for a municipality in any State to do the same, breaking free of the mediocrity (or worse) on offer from the 'Big Cable' monopoly. How does that fit your narrative, Ron? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  2. Oh sure, they're saying it. But are they saying how it does those things? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  3. Unfortunately that shows a lack of both knowledge and imagination. Without even needing to open the history books, just look up 'necklacing' as an example of horrific gangland execution methods being used today. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  4. Well, you're calling for the death of anyone who might be a terrorist and you think all muslims could be terrorists so... following your logic if you'd be kind enough to eradicate yourself I think the world will be a more peaceful place. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  5. Either you're being deliberately obtuse or you have some kind of autism that stops you from being able to relate to other people's thought processes. For the vast, vast majority of muslims it doesn't matter a tinker's cuss what's in the Koran, they are just normal people who have no intention of cutting anyone's head off. There are not one billion muslims ready to cut your head off and there never will be. It is a fantasy designed to justify your desire to see millions of innocent people burn. It's sick. So your saying the vast majority of Muslims do not believe in the Koran? I am sure that is news to them. Do you think it helps your case when you pretend to be a moron? Seriously, I don't get why you want people to think you don't understand the difference between believing in Allah and being willing to kill someone just because an Imam says so. Unless your entire SC persona is a long term trolling expedition. Your views are certainly absurd and evil enough to be satire, but I just don't detect any edge of irony Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  6. Yes, because the post of yours I just replied to was so positive, constructive and complimentary! You just keep seeing what you want to see Ron. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  7. My post from another thread. Yeah, but no. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

  9. Do you think it is literall true? Adam and Eve were real people, The serpent and the apple were true events, not allegorical? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  10. OK but, serious question, do you think the story of Adam and Eve is literally true? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  11. Yeah, they're much nicer than you. No, you don't. Make believe is exactly what it is. There are not billions of muslims ready to fight a religious war and there never will be. It is a fantasy that you need to believe in order to justify your own fanatical bloodlust. Just like the ISIS fighters and Al Qaeda members who believe that the whole US is the Great Satan and wants to annihilate Islam. You are the reverse of that coin. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  12. Excuse me while I don't quake in my boots. So they've been able to spread through the already massively destabilised areas of the Middle East. Big whoop, that doesn't mean you can extrapolate that success to taking over real countries. Hey, I just learned to play tennis. After two lessons I can serve and play a double handed backhand. If I keep improving at this rate I'll be beating Roger Federer by summer. Because that's how it works, apparently. Well first, no-one knew what was happening/going to happen at places like Belsen and Dachau. Second, people were still tired from the Great War. No one wanted another crippling, all consuming conflict. Which brings us back to today - it's been 13 years of conflict, 12 years of occupation in Iraq - and it's worked out so damn well that you think we have to intervene in Iraq all over again to stop shit from getting worse than it was before we were there in the first place. Great success, huh? Just a thought - if you get your new campaign and it lasts even half as long as the last one then you will be sending troops to fight in Iraq who weren't even born on 9/11. Who said something about a quagmire? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  13. Hmmm so the US was wrong to drop the bombs on japan? That's a very complicated question. But if you don't understand that fighting a nation state vs fighting disparate groups of cross border militants are very different things then you don't have a snowballs chance in hell of understanding the answer. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  14. Ah yes, the latest 2 cents from the local would be genocidal maniac Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  15. Ahh, I see. Earlier you were talking very specifically about beheadings, which was what I replied to. I was wondering why you were fixating on that. Anyway, current estimate of civilian deaths from violence in Iraq since 2003 is 150,000. When do you say enough? You mean, when do we say "too many people are being killed and we must stop it, no matter how many people are killed as a result"? Well, never. Any hope for the success of such a plan is mere wishful thinking - it's deeply flawed on both moral and practical grounds. And the two events are completely unrelated. No-one declared war on Germany because of the concentration camps. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  16. Hang on a minute, untold? According to what you told us in the OP its somewhere around 115. Ok it's gruesome and evil, but more people get killed in spoon related accidents. Because it matters as to what happens next and what sort of backlash you will face. And if you really do want to help people and save lives you absolutely have to think about it. OTOH, if you just want to kill some bad guys and feel good about having done something, then you can ignore it. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  17. Now that's something we can agree on!
  18. With all the talk of 'playing' politics it's important to note that the decision to deploy troops is always political. That's how it works. Deciding whether to fight is not a military decision, it's a political decision. The army doesn't choose its wars. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  19. Wow. I just don't know what to say. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  20. 2 would definitely be better... If it were a remotely realistic option. Iraq is broken, and you're not going to fix it by hanging around for another few years. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  21. Different enough that invading Baghdad didn't create a quagmire? Uhhh, don't think so Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  22. Yeah... I guess it might make more sense to me if I was really drunk But no matter what my state, it's too confusing to have this conversation with two people who disagree on what your side is. You and Ron get together and figure out whether or not babies are sinners and why God cares and then I'll rebut it. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  23. Sure - expansion of the Afghan war into Pakistan, wanton use of drone strikes, lack of promised transparency in any area, but withdrawal from Iraq... not really. a) It was the hand he was dealt. b) You've got to leave sometime. There is no length of time that you can stay in Iraq, and nothing that you can do so that when you leave things will be ok. And no matter how many times you go back in, every time you leave again things will go to hell behind you. That is the Iraq we have spent the last dozen years creating. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  24. I think the point is that it's not "times have changed" it's that you live somewhere else. But hey, everyone loves to look on the past with rose tinted glasses... Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  25. It wasn't the logical extension, the logical extension of having a plan that didn't account for a situation that wasn't identified at the inception of the plan would be to alter the plan, which Obama simply didn't do. Nope, instead he disregarded the advice of many and pulled us out anyway...if you are looking for dumb fuck actions, there it is. You're confused about which situation I'm talking about. The logical extension of your remarks about planning is that you should blame Bush for not having any plans in place pre-invasion to deal with a long term post-invasion insurgency. Get it yet? And as for Obama, you have yet to answer or even acknowledge my remarks about the legal nature of the Bush SOFA. You make it sound like it was simply an in-house timetable so that the US military could get their logistics in order. In reality it was a bilateral treaty between two nation states. It looks bad for you when you pretend not to notice that. You don't see a problem with invading a middle eastern country and not planning for an Islamic fundamentalist insurgency? That's like performing major surgery and not planning for the possibility of infection. It's like designing an ocean liner and not planning for the possibility of waves. Then you must be blinded by partisanship, because everything else you had said suggests that is exactly why you should think Bush is a dumb fuck. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
