The Republican Party won enough moderates to win. What is your reason for believe the Tea Party made that happen for them? Trump's manufacturing and coal jobs promises won the states that gave him the EC, and Trump is not a Tea Partier. When those jobs prove to be so much pie in the sky the moderates there will rejoin the moderates in the rest of the country, voting for a non-crazy Blue candidate. ***No matter how much you whine and cry the score board says two to nothing Jefe, two to nothing. And no matter how hard you click your heels and wish you were in Kansas, the team on that scoreboard is the Republican party, not the "At Least We're Not Nazi" party, as you describe them. Wow, the Tea Party is so good at self policing that people no longer think they're Nazi's or racist terrorists. Which of the following options do you think best describes your statement; A) Ringing endorsement. B) Damning with the faintest of praise. Sez who? If Gerrymandering redistricting is the reason that the Democrats have currently lost the House and Senate, you have just successfully argued against your own assertion that Republican control of the House and Senate proves the Tea Party has won the moderates. I know you always think you're being clever with these twists and turns that you do, but mostly you're just demonstrating the shortness of your attention span. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

For the sake of clarity, will you also indicate that you understand the Tea Party is not the same thing as the Republican party? Seems to me it worked brilliantly for Trump. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Why would you think that? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Wow. He is, with a straight face, moaning that the Democrats are slowing down Trump's agenda in an unfair manner. You know, I guess Trump does have a point about the very very dishonest media Do you want to have an ideagasm?

What is the evidence that the Tea Party has won the centre? White House, Senate, House of Reps. Controlled by the Republican Party, yes (well, the White House is debatable on that one). What is the evidence that the Tea Party faction is responsible for that success? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Airworthiness directives - just more burdensome regulation

It's almost as if governing is a professional skill which needs study and experience to be able to execute well. Who knew? Seriously, who could possibly have predicted that if you put together an Administration almost entirely devoid of any experienced politicians, Washington insiders or career beaurocrats that they wouldn't have a clue what they were doing? No. That (as you well know) is one of the major differences between the two situations which make the comparison irrelevant. That's a very odd way of saying he simply declined to consent to their release. In any case, same as pretty much any other president. Same as he promised to release his tax returns and did, like any other presidential candidate. Same as Trump promised to release his tax returns like any other presidential candidate. The only thing that is not the same is Donald Trump reneging on his promise and not releasing his returns. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

As mentioned before, Trump has previousy stated under oath that he does not read the particulars of documents and contracts he signs. He has people for that. Great people. The best people! The documents they prepare are the most trustworthy. Everyone says so. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Which are words, I have examples of actual people that survived the method that was used to try to kill them. Or because these people were still attached by the umbilical cord, do you suggest nothing is being killed? Focus, Roy. Focus! You were talking about numbers. You said 'an alarming number of people'. Now, if it's alarming to you that even one person does it, then you could argue that you were being technically correct, but you know it would be disingenuous at best. Poll, how do you feel about Trump's entry ban on select nationals
jakee replied to gowlerk's topic in Speakers Corner
In any other circumstance this would be the funniest habit of Trump. In the position he's in now, it's unfathomable. He cannot disagree with someone without name calling or ad-hom. It just doesn't happen. This guy is a 'so-called' judge. Streep is 'the most overrated' actress and Megyn Kelly is 'the most overrated' woman on TV. John Lewis is 'all talk no action' and failing his district. Vanity Fair, the NYT and the WSJ are all 'failing' publications with tanking subscriberships, SNL is 'poorly written, boring and biased'... Sooner or later he's going to do this after a relatively small disagreement with a foreign power or head of a huge corporation holding tens of thousands of US jobs in their hands, they are going to take him both seriously and literally, and it is going to take an enormous diplomatic effort to try and dig your way out of the hole that he needlessly created. A group of procedures that are the safest and easiest. So what is the justifiation? How does it pass the Roe v Wade test? Spousal rape or incest is the question here. Women in abusive relationships may well have, or feel they have, very little control over their own lives or their own movements. They can't walk out the door to go and visit a friend without fear of violent reprisal, let alone walk out the door to go and have an abortion. It is not only possible, but entirely logical and plausible that it could take months for a victim of spousal rape to find both the courage and opportunity to go against the wishes of her husband. To leave open the chance that her abusive husband may be able to use the court system to take that opportunity away is, quite frankly, an unimaginable level of cruelty Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Either way, it is the message of the quote that is relevant. For sure. Case in point, Trump claims he's giving power back to the people, and they believe him! Crazy right? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Dude's got a point. Calming the situation down is Trump's core skillset. He's got a very soothing manner. Lot's of people say so. He'd have been the best nurse. You need a situation calming down? You call Trump. Always been that way. Between that and his deal making skills the NYPD used to call him into hostage negotiations. True story, believe me. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

It's magic! Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Sure. But in the entire thread I still have no idea who he thinks he's talking to. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

What is, Brent's post? Take that up with him, I'm not defending it. I think you're confused. This discussion started because Brent was blaming Obama for the recession getting worse before he even took office. Brent is also the only person in this thread to have even mentioned Bush's name. So to be honest, I really have no idea what you think you're replying to? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
-
So you're not only no longer supporting your earlier statement, you're actively arguing against it? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

And the hypocrisy. Yeah, apart from the hate and hypocrisy the rest of the statement was... wait, what was the rest of the statement? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Umm, do you actually remember the position that you're trying to defend, right? 'Cos I didn't see the word 'Obama' pop up anywhere in that article Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Not a bad article, but like all rants it got a bit rambly and could be improved by some judicious editing. Simply saying "You don't know me, but I'm the hypocritical asshole who stood silently while right wing crybabies undermined the legitimacy of a democratic president for 8 whole years" would have been enough to get his point across. The rest is just wasted bandwidth, tbh. Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

LOFL Conservatism ended slavery. You are still losing it. Bleeding heart progressive social justice warriors ended slavery. But talking of loosing it, are you willing to accept the photographic evidence you provided and admit that Trump's inauguration crowd was far smaller than Obama's yet? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
You realise that you're no longer talking about what we were just talking about, right? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Well no shit. If they've never voted why would pollsters pay any attention to them? Two words... President Trump You said they were oft ignored but had never voted. So the pollsters were absolutely right to ignore them every time up until now, and on this occasion were taken by suprise. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
