Miller's declaration of war to the population ... ?
jakee replied to christelsabine's topic in Speakers Corner
You're so crazy it's hilarious. Just how Wendy thought it was unlike you to be a rampant hypocrite over morals and ethics for different people in the same situations I have no idea, but thanks for demonstrating it again Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Hey Ron, have you seen that Trump now claims Flynn was a great guy who was simply a victim of the unfair fake news inventing a conspiracy theory against him? I look forward to you explaining that actually what leaders do is protect their people - even when that means never admitting fault, blaming other people for their team's failures and trying to cover it all up Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Right, that's what happens when you don't hire any experienced diplomats and politicians and instead rely purely on iconoclasts, ideologues, cronies, industry shills and a few token ex-military guys to fill an entire administration. The problem with outright rejection of all the 'beltway insiders' is that governing is a professional skill like any other that requires knowledge, training and experience. I find it entirely plausible that there is a huge amount of law that Trump and his immediate circle are utterly oblivious to, and are too arrogant to check on with their underlings. The other option, or potentially a combination of the two, is that Flynn and the team knew it was illegal, knew the call would be recorded, but we're arrogant enough to think they had enough control to stop the contents of the call from ever being reported. Hang on a minute, only yesterday you were talking about how unethical business practices were totally fine because of the profit motive. Why are you now bringing ethical business practices into it? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Outside of right-wing conspiracy theories the Clinton Foundation doesn't exist for the direct monetary benefit of Hillary Clinton. Trump's businesses exist solely for the monetary benefit of Trump and his family. (And remember, out of the two candidates it was Trump who was shown to have lined his pockets by stealing from his own charity.) Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Yeah? Sounds like something Stringer Bell would say in 'The Wire'. Which raises the other question, where do the boundaries lie in the pursuit of profit? If it is ok to act in an unfair, immoral, illegal fashion in business dealings, how bad do you have to be and which laws do you have to break before it's not ok? Is it ok to be a confidence trickster? Is it ok to be a pickpocket or shoplifter? Is it ok to be a drug dealer? All these people are just trying to win the game and make more money. Why is there a difference? If it is in the best interest of the retailer to scam his customers out of their money why should he not do that? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Yes, and Trump has repeatedly shown his willingness to break the law, steal from people and trample all over the little guy in order to win that game. He has also repeatedly talked about how much he likes playing that game. So I assume that you agree with me (that Trump will continue to be Trump and try and make money from being President) and disagree with Airdvr (who thinks Trump will completely change the pattern and priorities of his entire life thusfar, and not try and take advantage of the financial opportunities presented by his new office). Yep, that's a pretty much perfect summation of my point. Seems like a lot of your fellow right wingers are absolutely determined to be patsies Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

It is unfortunate that not only do you believe that, but also willingly promote that myopic opinion. Maybe you are the one exception. Most of what I read is disparaging. You on the other hand tend to be more upbeat overall. But most of what you've written for the past 8 years has been disparaging of America. Trump's whole campaign was based on disparaging America? Why is it that you like Trump for agreeing with you, but dislike foreigners for agreeing with you? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Only by his own estimate. Which he says is really more of a feeling. Not warm enough that he doesn't steal from his contractors as often as possible. Not warm enough that he hasn't just doubled the membership fee of his club for all the people looking to sit in on his national security phone calls. Not warm enough that Mrs Trump hasn't stated to a court that she wants to leverage her own increased publicity to the tune of at least $150M over her husband's first term in office. Trump's entire business career has involved screwing over whoever he can in order to scrape a bit more profit from a deal. Yet you think because he's been elected he's suddenly stopped aring about making money - even as he refuses to cut ties with his businesses or make any concrete steps to avoid conflicts of interest? Even as he wilfully creates conflicts of interest with his children and the foreign governments involved in their pending and ongoing projects? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Courts have been legislating from the bench for years. So what are the possible flags that you think the Judiciary might be flying? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
Ummm, I think what's just happened with Flynn was a textbook example of covering something up until it couldn't be covered up any longer, then blaming someone else. Flynn was doing what Trump wanted him to do, Pence was put out as a smokescreen because he wasn't in the loop, then eventually Flynn was sacrificed to save Trump's face when it was obvious the situation was out of the bottle. Well, neither Hillary nor Trump has ever killed anyone, but when it comes to compulsive liars, and the kind of kleptomaniac evil that routinely steals enough money from small businesses to drive them to bankruptcy despite already enough personal wealth to last multiple lifetimes then Trump is in a league of his own. No shit Sherlock. But when you find a policy that is divisive, because it isn't the way the liberals want to go then you say "that means it's a great idea so we must do it!" After years of whining and bitching and moaning about the divide in the country under Obama, divisiveness is now your primary measure of success in a policy. You are asking for divisiveness for the sake of the divisiveness. And you can find post after post after post from the right wingers on this site saying 'if it pisses off the left it must be a good idea!' Can you dig up the same from the left wingers here? I honestly don't think you can. He promised a muslim ban. He has (so far) delivered something which he is adamant is not a muslim ban, and delivered that so incompetently that it only lasted a week before being blocked by one of those other branches of government. You really think he's the guy that's going to get things done right in the long term? Yeah, the ones you just asked Trump to try and destroy. By the way, what are the possible flags that you think the Judiciary might be flying? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

I'm thinking he already knows the answer to that question. And attempting to destroy your opponent has long been in the playbook that is politics in the US. You sound shocked. You think the court system is Trump's opponent, you're looking forward to him trying to destroy it, and you think that's normal for US politics? Ok, listen up kid, there are 3 branches of US government... Do you want to have an ideagasm? -

Unbelievable. The tendency of the right wingers on here to judge whether a policy is beneficial or not solely by whether it pisses off liberals would alone be one of their most juvenile traits. The fact they've mostly spent the last 8 years whinging and moaning about the country being divided, and are now cheering loudest for the most divisive policies without a hint of irony - that puts it way ahead in the pre-school stakes What does that even mean? Do you want to have an ideagasm? -
The fucking bastards are even lying through his resignation letter. He 'inadvertently briefed' Pence with incorrect information about the phone call because of the fast pace of events. And then, for the next month events continued to move too quickly for him to rebrief the Vice-President? A whole month that he just sat there letting the White House lie to the public because he was too busy to set the record straight? How gullible do they think people are? Outstanding quotatation! Didn't realise you guys knew about the Ministry for Administrative Affairs BTW I don't know if this commercial was shown over there, but I got a chuckle when I recognized one of the actors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwOCOm9Z0YE Both of them! That's PM Jim Hacker meets PM Francis Urquhart (AKA Frank Underwood) Do you want to have an ideagasm?

And when all other attempts at misderection and obfuscation fail, and when it becomes obvious even to you that you cannot provide any support for you assertions, we get this. At least you're predictable Brent. At least you're predictable Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Hillary isn't going to prison, Mexico isn't paying for the wall, Muslims are not being banned, the swamp is not being drained (but filled with lobbyists, donors, party faithful and other cronies), and the secret plan to defeat ISIS never existed. Though he is shooting people in Yemen and setting the scene for hobbling the EPA, so yay for that Do you want to have an ideagasm?

OK, if you get rid of the groups mentioned (apart from socialists - everyone is a socialist to some degree) who is left? The vast majority of the Left and the vast majority of Democrat party members. Ok? Now, let's get back to the issue of you not knowing the difference between the Republicans and the Tea Party. It's fascinating. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
