  1. And when your military left, they left the Taliban stronger and in more complete control of more of the country than they ever had before you turned up. That's got nothing to do with Biden. That's 20 years of abject political and military failure (though certainly more political) that was literally signed and sealed before Biden took office, he was just set up to be the one who delivered it.
  2. About as relevant as any other way you've tried to defend your original point. Honestly what were you thinking when you chose that as an example of gun use that no-one could possibly argue wasn't an amazing justification for having more guns?
  3. Who gives a fuck? You think I'm going to bother watching an entire film about a known racist calling me a racist? Dude you gotta get out more.
  4. Then I can say you. You see, in the language we supposedly both speak, you can either mean you specifically or you collectively, and you specifically are supposed to understand that something called context exists. So again, after you were briefly in Afghanistan in 2002, you held Afghanistan for 20 years, and when you left Afghanistan you left the Taliban stranger than ever with more complete control of more of the country than they ever had before you showed up.
  5. Does a question accurately describe me? No. I don't think there's any way that makes sense.
  6. If you're complaining that you didn't leave Afghanistan after 20 years why are you taking credit for holding it for 20 years?
  7. Well, that's a guy who complained that a black mermaid wasn't scientifically accurate so... I'm guessing the answer to his question is yes.
  8. You were there for 20 years in 2002?
  9. And after that 20 years was done you left with the Taliban stronger and in more complete control than when you arrived. I'm sure there are a lot of genuine personal reasons why it's unpleasant to acknowledge that, but unfortunately it is the reality. It is a tale of abject political and military failure that was more or less inevitable since Bush's original decisions on how to impose a brand new system of government on a very foreign country.
  10. Why are you calling MLK a racist? And figuring out ways to remove prejudice or bias against something IS NOT the same thing.
  11. Well, you have fun with that conversation that has nothing at all to do with anything that anyone else has said.
  12. I’ve recently realised that no one actually cares about corruption anymore. No one cares about any unethical or immoral behaviour in government or public life. They only care if they think it’s being kept secret and someone is getting away with something that is being hidden from them. So you get this weird situation where only the lies are taken seriously, and the stuff that’s actually happening doesn’t matter. So now Trump can say “Here’s Elon, he gave me a hundred million dollars and now he’s in charge of government funding to his own companies!” And people think ‘oh wow Elon’s so clever he’ll be great at this!’ But on the other hand Biden says “You know that Hunter pay to play stuff is all made up right?” And people think ‘you dodgy fucker I knew you were up to something!’
  13. A bad guy with a spoon can be stopped by a good guy with a spoon. Funnily enough there were plenty of spoons in that diner and they were no deterrent at all.
  14. Trying to make out that fear of being shot is effective at deterring Americans from committing gun crimes is going to take more than a massage.
  15. In what way do you want to achieve it if you refuse to allow people to take any steps towards it? Right - a checklist packed with subjective, gut feel criteria. And now hang on a minute - not quite perfect because you end up with people entirely unsuitable to perform the job at all? Just a second ago we were talking about hiring the people who were definitively, measurably the absolute best possible candidates available and nothing else will do. Now we find that the process is still so flawed that you’re still ending up with people who are just plain incompetent? With that in mind, how on earth do you think you are actually measuring your success at hiring the one single best candidate of all the people who applied in that round?
  16. You are confused. DEI is something that companies choose to do. You are falsely calling them racist for doing it and trying to prevent them from using it. You are trying to increase the rules that companies have to abide by. But at least we’ve clarified that everything you’ve said so far is a smokescreen for the real issue. You just don’t think people should be told not to be racist.
  17. The fact that you just went on to produce an enormous list of mostly subjective criteria including the need for multiple interviews would put the lie to that assertion. Again - you know your posts stay visible for more than 3 minutes, yeah? Sounds great and all… it’s just that you think it’s better for the racist hirers to continue with their racist hiring practices than for organisations to put any effort into trying to be less racist.
  18. First honest thing you've said since coming back.
  19. So you understand that this is literally what happens all the time, right? Because there is rarely any such thing as the definitive most qualified candidate. Again, if you have ten people with first class degrees from the top ranked universities in the country, one of them is gay and the boss doesn't like gays, 2 of them are black and the boss doesn't know how to relate to black people... are they getting hired?
  20. You know the posts you make here stay visible for longer than 3 minutes, yes?
  21. There you go now, people hire based on subjective criteria, they don't just hire the most qualified person. Follow that thought a step or two further down the road and you might just start to see the light. (Not the very bright covid light though, you remember how bad that made you look last time!)
  22. Hehehe ok, it's my fault you're talking bollocks. That's fine, at least we agree it's bollocks.
  23. There goes that thing about assuming a minority will be a 'meh' employee again. I think there's a word for that. I also love this idea that you always know who the most qualified applicant is. Like, why even bother interviewing, right? Hiring the best talent is easy! Like when the Mercedes F1 team announced a diversity initiative the trolls moaned about how they should always just pick the most qualified candidate. When they advertise for graduate positions they're probably going to have 50 applications from people with fesh first class degrees from Cambridge, Oxford, UCL and other top engineering schools throughout the country and the continent. Which one would be the most qualified?
  24. FYI, you're getting a bit wierd and creepy.
  25. You think violent criminals in the US don't already know they're in danger of a violent death? You think that just one more example will get the message through and the US will suddenly cease to have such a staggeringly massive rate of gun murders? There goes that thing about the right being addicted to simplistic solutions again.
