Indeed, why is it a double standard?
-
Exactly. All that anyone on the extreme right is going to remember is that antifa planned a flag burning in Gettysburg and some good ol' boys with guns stopped them. Hoax, what hoax?
-
What is the 'numbers bullshit', and which bits of it aren't real?
-
Sure. But if it turned out that one person associated with BLM lived there, why do you think it would discredit the entire BLM movement?
-
Right. Well, let's gloss over the unbelievable offensiveness of comparing losing a family member with winning the lottery because I'm quite sure you'll just claim to be misunderstood. If you're just worried about the Floyd family blowing all their money, why did you bring up their choice of coffin as an problem with the BLM movement in the first place?
-
I don't know that, because you wont give any straight answers. You have a problem with George Floyd's gold coffin and you said it's because of their social status. If there's no problem with them choosing a gold coffin, what's the problem with the gold coffin?
-
Yes. If you also quote the first paragraph of that post it is quite clearly about the gold plating, as you well know. But hey, anything that allows you to evade a question, right? "What does that matter? His family should have to choose a humble coffin to reflect his lowly life? They're not allowed to use a high status colour?"
-
Out of the two of us that is evident, yes. Beyond that what basis do you have to make the claim? I know damn well I haven't backtracked. The only thing I've been asking you in this thread is why you have a problem with Floyd's coffin being gold. So again, why do you think Floyd's social status means his family shouldn't be free to bury him in a gold coffin if they want to?
-
I did both at the same time. He was judged on skin colour while he was alive, and you're judging him on coffin colour now that he's dead. Are you so obtuse you didn't get that, or are you simply being dishonestly evasive again? And yet again the question, so what? Why should the social status of George Floyd mean his family don't get to use that if they want to? Mirror mirror on the wall...
-
In a post which also did not contain any other form of answer. Therefore it was also an evasion - and as I said a transparent and stupid one. As an observation, in a post that also contained direct questioning about precicely the topic we were talking about. You dont think it's funny that you're judging the colour of the coffin of a man whose death sparked months of protests against people being judged on colour? I guess you believe you're the only person allowed to make puns. Explain how that is a switch? Gold is a colour, and your judgement of him because of the use of that colour on his cofin is exactly what I have been asking you about from the start. So again, let's see if you can stop being dishonest and evasive and give a straight answer - why do you think Floyd's social status should have stopped his family from deciding to use gold on his coffin?
-
I asked you what your problem is with Floyd's gold coffin. You said his social status. I'm now asking you why his social status should stop his family deciding to use a gold coffin. That is not a goal post change, that is a direct line on inquiry consistent from start to finish. You asked why I'm condescending? It's because you say ridiculously stupid things like that and think that other people can't see through your bullshit. Why not stop the dishonesty and evasion and just engage in a real discussion with straight answers?
-
??? Gold is a colour. Why should his social status have prevented his family from using it?
-
Indeed. There's nothing to stop you from supplying some.
-
Turtle may be annoying but it's a bit off to call him a flea.
-
What does that matter? His family should have to choose a humble coffin to reflect his lowly life? They're not allowed to use a high status colour? You know, while I'm sure he was used to being judged on colour while he was alive and even while he died, I bet he never thought he'd still be getting judged on colour when he was being buried.
-
Why are you incredulous about it (I already showed you it's neither unique nor even particularly unusual), and why does that private decision of his family reflect badly on the whole BLM movement?
-
It sure seemed important to you, right up until the point you were asked why. So again, why?

Our new Secret Police and more renditions, lovely

Again, when was the last time in your entire life that you didn't think SHTF was just around the corner? -
The difference of finding out if you ever approach a discussion here with the intention of being honest, upfront and clear or if you're always trying to set up an angle. By the way, did you figure out why Floyd's coffin made you so angry yet?
-
And illegal. At least for Ivanka. Seems like 50 years after Nixon your system still doesn;t know for sure if it's possible for a President to commit a crime. Then why didn't it say that? Why was it a direct response to a quote about Trump with no indication that you weren't talking about what you were replying to?
-
Yep. Jair Bolsonaro is a terrible person to be in charge of a country in pretty much every respect. Here in the UK BoJo decided to follow the most optimistic scientific advice they were given and allowed the virus to spread like wildfire and put us massively on the back foot before they reversed course. But they did reverse course and take serious measures when they realised they had to. I don't think you'll ever see a reversal like that from Trump in any crisis. He's simply not capable.
-
Give me a reason to start there. When you quote and reply to a post talking specifically and only about Trump's actions with the words "That's what you get from..." and then claim you weren't referring to Trump, what is that if it isnt a lie?
-
You were directly replying to a post that was commenting on and only commenting on the Trump breaching ethics rules by endorsing commercial products in the oval office. Yoink said Trump was breaching ethics rules and demeaning the office. You quoted that and said "That's what you get from the cancel culture". Why do you bother lying about this stuff when it's right there in black and white? Or maybe you've just forgotten the thread again. Seen that doctor yet?
-
You said it came from the cancel culture. It didn't, it came from the Trumps. What does the CFA boycott have to do with the Trumps turning the WH into an advertising studio?

Couple recorded pulling weapons on protesters outside their St. Louis home
jakee replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Maybe in that one still, but remember it's a still taken from a video which shows them both moving about on the porch. Sometime's he's in front, sometimes she is, and inbetween there are at the very least transient moments where he is pointing the gun directly at her. Also, bizarrely, one point at which he appears to be attempting to untangle his own arm from the rifle sling while the muzze is pointing towards the crowd. Good stuff.
