Right? So ironic that that Brent moans about seeing hatred from the left, yet lionises this woman. Someone who couldn't make a living writing angry and hateful leftist content because no-one was interested, but who found an eager audience on the right for the exact same tone of screed and in just a few years has risen to the upper echelons of commentary for several major right wing news outlets.

You can't justify a statement of 'this is the way it should be' just by saying 'this is the way it is'. It's meaningless. And having a Federal government allowed them to lead the way on civil rights etc. They are currently better placed to lead the way on voting rights as well, since the states are currently showing themselves to be more than willing run roughshod over them in the pursuit of partisan power.
-
Except that the states are led by people who are part of a national party, and who have shown themselves quite willing to restrict or encourage voting purely in the ways in which it will help the prospects of that national party in elections to national government. Which is a godawful way to run a democracy.
-
I'm not sure how you can discuss just this issue in isolation, because the effort to restrict mail in voting is being led by the same people for the same reasons as part of a co-ordinated campaign to restrict all the other types of voting.

No surprise, you don't know enough about her to spell her name. Like the people hoping all Conservatives die in their sleep so liberal progress can be made? Do you think that is at all angry or hateful? Do you need help on understanding what 'objective' means? Being conservative isn't an objective qualification. If you think she is qualified because she's a conservative, please stop pretending your dismissal of Harris is based on anything other than her being a liberal. As for brave, well ok, I guess standing up in public and declaring that the southern strategy was a myth and never happened does take a certain kind of bravery. I'd be too embarassed to be able to lie like that. Independent thinking? OK, again I can see that. When she tried to defend Trump's nationalist policies by comparing them to the Nazi Party, and said the only thing Hitler ever did wrong was in trying to implement his ideas outside of Germany I very much doubt anyone else told her to say that. I am quite sure she came up with that all on her own. Author though? We both know you've never read anything she's written so you certainly can't claim she's somehow a good enough writer to be immediately suitable for high office. Again, the fact that you tried to think of qualified black women and the best you could come up with is a toxic right wing social media personality whose name you approximately know just further proves Joe's point

That is a very good point, especially when the flip side to the welcome suprise of having the police testify against Chauvin is that they depicted him as someone completely unrepresentative of the department as a whole. There were three other officers there and they all lacked either the morality or the courage to try and stop what was happening. How many police officers would have had to be in attendance before even one of them was able to stand up to the peer pressure coming from two veterans with a history of violence and thuggery, and display the same sense of justice and the same bravery shown by some random passers by on the street?

I hope that part goes ok. If they were federal charges I’d have put money on him being pardoned during the next Republican Presidential term though. He’d have fit right in with the parade of abhorrent and unrepentant scum that Trump chose to fete.
-
You weren’t parroting anyone else when an angry social media influencer was one of the two most qualified black women you could think of for the office of VP. Setting such a low bar for an entire race and gender sounds to me exactly like what Joe was just describing.
-
Ironic that legalised cannabis is probably one of the only worthwhile causes he supported during his political career, but he did it for corrupt reasons.
-
Guilty on all counts. Even as a white person from a different country, there’s a feeling of relief that finally such an obvious crime is not brushed off simply because the perpetrator was a cop. I can’t imagine what it must feel like for black people in America.
-
I should hope no one is posting in any of these forums while actually skydiving. I think at that point the topic of discussion is somewhat irrelevant, don’t you?
-
You agree that climate change is real, and EVs are good things which will be commercially successful?
-
But you're not dead?
-
True, but using the same basic system your total chance of dying from covid in the US is less than 0.2%, which can also be rounded down to zero. So why not then make the argument that the vaccine makes no difference
-
Haaahaha! This thread isn’t going the way you wanted, is it?
-
Yes, he wanted it to be higher. And what did they do? They didn’t make it higher, they continued using the real numbers. Congratulations, you’ve just demonstrated that CNN has a greater level of integrity than Project Veritas, the NYP and Fox News.
-
You do realise that whole story is about CNN telling the truth about a something that people are interested in, right? Not to mention the irony of you now quoting not just Project Veritas but also the NYP to support your claims if made up news!
-
Funny how your response to being accused of sexism is to be more sexist. Does this mean Pence was picked by a white man because he was a white man? Lol, right. Explain to me the achievements of Owens that make her objectively more qualified and prepared for office than Harris. Bonus point if you can learn enough about her to spell her name correctly.
-
That's fake news.
-
What is she an heiress to?
-
Absolutely, we have some seriously racist individuals and departments in the UK too. But at least in this case the victim isn't dead and the scumbag is in prison. Meanwhile the Chauvin defense is arguing that because he was in the general vicinity of a car exhaust it's more likely that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning than anything that scumbag did. Wow.
-
What did they say?
-
There it isn't. What did that video show that CNN made up? Having a bias isn't the same as lying. Can tell me what CNN has done over the past year that even remotely compares to Fox's 'Election Fraud' lies? Or does simply doing it not count if you haven't dug up someone on candid camera bragging about doing it?
-
Lol, Examiner.

You think Biden just found out about Keystone XL on his first day in office?
