First, that is the exact opposite argument to the one you just made about civil rights acts. Make your mind up. Second, the ICCPR would have been written with input from many countries without a BoR. Third, the BoR happily coexisted with slavery for nearly a century. It should be fairly obvious that it's not a magic panacea that immediately makes everything better.

You are mistaken. You absolutely can have civil rights acts without the Bill of Rights. Any suggestion otherwise is absurd - the Bill of Rights does not give the government permission to write laws which protect civil rights. It does not stop the government from protecting civil rights beyond the scope of the Bill of Rights. In reality, the very fact that civil rights acts were necessary means that the Bill of Rights on its own was not capable of protecting civil rights to a satisfactory degree.

Funny, For as long as I can remember the american right wing has had nothing to say about any branch of the liberal arts in any unversity or college except that it's all run and taught by tenured ivory tower elitists, completely disconnected from normal people, who've never worked a real day in their lives and who do nothing but brainwash the nation's youth into their liberal pinko new world order great society fantasy world under the guise of their classroom authority. Now one black university decides to close its classics department and suddenly it's a terrible loss to society. I wonder what could be going on there.

I think Mr Hogan-Howe misses the point. If police are increasingly viewed as suspect in the UK when they shoot someone, it's because even with the small number of people killed by police in the UK too many of them turn out to be wrongly killed. The Jean-Charles de Menezes murder is the perfect example. A clusterfuck of an operation, a wrongful death, and a Metropolitan Police department who immediately and repeatedly lied about what happened until video evidence proved that they were lying.

Ron, I'm sure you'll be overjoyed to here that the Chauvin conviction hasn't lessened the work ethic of the American police. It took them one day to do the same thing all over again. One. Day. Body-camera video shows officer kneeling on man for five minutes before he dies But hey - the dude was sitting alone on a park bench with some booze they thought he maybe possibly might have shoplifted because why not? Clearly it was imperative to subdue this menace to society!

Both sides are repsonsible for some false narratives, one side is responsible for many more than the other one is. Remember when the Acorn 'gotcha' dickhead was trying to shop a fake accuser to the press during Kavanaugh's confirmation to discredit the others by association? He only ended up proving that the mainstream 'liberal' print media's ethics and fact checking were easily strong enough to catch his plant in the act before they printed anything. Then on the flip side, you have this. In the mainstream media, reporters caught faking stories are fired. In the right wing media, reporters resign after being ordered by editors and owners to write fake stories.

Rich agreed, and said that the thing which made her so impressive is her ongoing feud with a rapper and criticism of a song. So do you agree with Rich? Is it her trying to cancel Cardi B that makes you think she should be considered for VP? Because so far the only things you’ve come up with are that she’s conservative and literate.

Defunding the police means giving the money they spend on doing things that aren’t police work to people who are trained to do those jobs. Currently the police has to do those jobs because there is no one else to do them, because the police have all the money which they need because they have to do it. And because they’re not very well trained to do those jobs that aren’t really their job, they spend more money to do it worse than dedicated professionals would. For a really simple example check out the last vid of the 8(?) year old girl who was maced in the back of a police car after her family called the cops to report a mental health emergency. There were like 6 squad cars and 20 cops on the scene. Like, how the fuck much does that cost vs one trained and knowledgable on call social worker?

Ok, so from what I can see Candace went on Fox to call the Grammies performance ‘the end of the American empire’ (lol, I can see why you like her so much) and then threatened to sue when Cardi made fun of her on Twitter in response? Look, I get that you republicans love trying to force PC behaviour on others. I get that trying to cancel people you disagree with has been the rights favourite tactic as far back as McCarthy. But do you really agree with Rich that Candace Owens is a prime candidate for VP purely because she tried to cancel a rapper in response to a stage show at an awards ceremony?

Her motives and message are toxic. Face it - if she was still a liberal insulting conservatives you'd be holding her up as the poster child for all that's wrong with the liberal MSM. Because she's now a conservative insulting libs Brent wants her to be the Vice President! Because she goes on Newsmax and Twitter and insults libs, that alone makes her qualified for one of the highest offices in the land.
