It's always 'what about China / India / Sub-Saharan Africa / any other developing region or nation!' I thought a non-Eurocentric approach was what you wanted. You're getting that whole fact/opinion thing mixed up again. Because I'm a nice guy I'll walk you through it in the baby steps you need. This "Biden’s stupidity is a threat to western civilization" is not a fact, it is an opinion. An opinion not quoted but given by a Sky Australia host. When it is the opinion of the messenger you want to discuss, the identity of the messenger matters. Picture a CNN anchor saying "I think Trump is destroying America" and see if you can make the connection.

Disclaimer, many adult children in CA walk around on their own without guns, mace or a taser. And you referenced needing confidence in the president during a crisis. That’s what your preferred president did during the last terror attack on the government of the USA. Watched Fox News and refused to take any calls. Just because you didn’t mention it that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I see no reason why anyone wouldn’t prefer Biden by comparison.

Is it the black thing or the woman thing? Disclaimer: people in CA literally can and do let their adult children out of their sight. The last tense moment in Trump's reign he couldn't be pried away from Fox News and refused to answer any phone calls for hours. So yes, isn't it a relief to know Biden's in charge now?

Again - you said when someone is about to murdered. If you're going to insist that this is completely relevant to this specific situation and shouldn't be questioned then I've changed my mind. You are making a massive assumption over what was about to happen. How many times do you know you only have one shot? How many times do you only have one shot because you decided you needed to shoot? Surely you see the problem? That is definitely not what you said.

Not you, the cop. You said when someone is about to be murdered. But we don’t know that, and if you always use deadly force based on the worst case assessment of a scenario then at what point do the consequences of using deadly force outweigh the consequences of not using it?

That assumes a level of foresight that rarely exists. Like in this case, a confrontation has been going on long enough for 911 to be called and the police to arrive and the people involved are still uninsured.... but at that moment it has definitely just escalated to murder? It’s a heck of an assumption.

Chauvin has no priors because police generally don't get convicted of things. He did have a long history of use of force complaints and official reprimands though. To use a parlance that no right winger could possibly object to, Chauvin is no angel. He is a bad hombre and no one should lose any sleep if he gets the maximum possible sentence, no matter whether it' justified or not.

When you’re standing here declaring that you have no need to know what evidence was produced in Chauvin’s trial because you have already made up your mind that he wasn’t guilty of murder you really shouldn’t be making such stunningly hypocritical statements.

IMO if you are a cop worried you will end up in Chauvin’s position you should resign, and the good cops you leave behind will be thankful for it.

I don’t understand what that means. The only way I can make sense of it is that you are simply not interested in checking the available information to check if your viewpoint is correct. And sure, you can do that if you want - but I don’t see how you can justify starting this thread to stand on a soapbox and declare to everybody the injustice that Chauvin is facing when you neither know nor care if your opinion matches reality. This was not the OJ trial. The medical testimony presented by the prosecution was clear, meticulous and overwhelming. Overwhelming enough to convince a jury to convict a police officer, and to convince even the police themselves that the conviction was right. What are you afraid will happen if you look at it for yourself?

If that troubles you then you should start advocating for prison reform. Did you pay attention to the trial? Did the (IMO) overwhelming case made by the prosecution change your mind?
