Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
jakee replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I cannot imagine that this is the way it works. It makes sense that a lawyer should not submit statements that they definitively know are not true, but demanding that they can only submit sworn witness statements that they definitively know are true is an impossible standard. Say you’ve got a witness who says they were in the counting room and saw something and you’ve seen proof they weren’t even there, ok you can’t submit that. If they were in the room and tell you they saw aliens beam the ballots up, who’s to say that didn’t happen? If you want to submit it then it’s a matter for the courts (and your professional reputation) to decide on the validity. Unless the lawyers invented the poll worker and their statements out of whole cloth it’s not their responsibility to swear to the truth of it. (None of this is to say that their team wasn’t shockingly lax and unprofessional in the way they gathered and presented ‘evidence’ in this case.) -
Please explain to me how exactly this entire post is not just a defence of racist hiring practices? If it’s not, then I genuinely have no idea what you’re trying to say - which is no surprise, since it’s pretty obvious that the vague and rambling nature of your posts is intentionally designed to allow you to deny any meaning the reader takes from them.

You certainly know your way around a strawman. But again, if affirmative action exists and you end up working around certain people because of that, well that’s just the hand you’ve been dealt. Why do you feel the need to keep bitching about it?
-
So again, how do you think it makes you look that this entire thread is about you bitching about having once lost a job to a minority candidate?
-
And. Yet, despite the fact that it’s been pointed out many times, you persist in communicating poorly. Your argument was explicitly that there is no need for any kind of solution.
-
You're not kidding, but you're also obviously not telling the truth. People in protected classes can and do get fired. The defeat of the Nazis and Japanese was also largely at the hands of the USA. This means the USA is just as evil? So why are you engaging in them? You demand that no-one should mention that George Floyd's killing and others like it have roots in racism and discrimination, yet you start this entire thread solely so you could bitch about the employment discrimination you think you were once subject to. You stink of hypocrisy.

Ha ha ha! "They love sending rocket ships up. And I made it possible for them to do this. I actually said to my people, 'Let the private sector do it,' " Trump continued. "These guys want to come in with billions of dollars. Let's lease them facilities, because, you know, you need certain facilities to send up rockets, and we have those facilities. We have the greatest facilities." he added. "And now, because of what I did, we are leading the pack in space by far." Yep, it was so visionary of Trump to allow SpaceX to lease Vandenburg, Kennedy and Canaveral in 2009, 2011 and 2013. Whatever woud they have done without him?

Since we're not speaking in German, it's a safe bet that a different definiition of gender is what is being discussed. What's the point of writing such a long post when your very first paragraph shows you have no intention of discussing the subject honestly? Don't bullshit a bullshitter.
-
And yet you have no problem being next to those whose lack of diversity made it easier for them to be hired. Given your posting history I am not in the least bit surprised you think that.

I think that while he obviously didn’t write the thing he presented as his own idea, he didn’t even bother reading it either. Far from the first time he’s demonstrated his complete lack or original thought and it won’t be the last. But hey, he called it a ‘truth bomb’ so he should really be held to it.

For fuck's sake Brent, if you think that mass shootings are caused by the Ten Commandments not being on display in a courthouse how do you expect anyone to take you seriously?
-
"A man charged with participating in the Capitol insurrection, Fi Duong, allegedly told an undercover FBI agent that he'd dressed up on Jan. 6 to look like antifa and had been trying to start his own militia-type group" And how did he know what Antifa looked like? He was antifa, pretending to be a militiaman pretending to be antifa. It's the classic triple cross, sheeple!
-
"According to the book, Kelly, a former Marine Corps general, then told Trump that “you cannot ever say anything supportive of Adolf Hitler. You just can’t.”" Jeez, when did the Marine Corps start embracing cancel culture? No escaping the woke brigade these days.
-
It’s funny because it isn’t true.
-
I didn't realise so many in the South and Mid-West supported Antifa.
-
I am not in the least surprised that you think that. But I don't think it has anything to do with them.
-
No, that's wrong. It's nothing to do with double jeopardy. It's because he was induced to incriminate himself by a prosecutor who promised not to use those incriminating statements against him, then they were used. 5th Amendment violation. If he'd been convicted without his statements being used against him (and in hindsight it's hard to imagine that the rest of the case against him wouldn't have been strong enough to hold up at trial) then that conviction would have been solid.

I don't think it's to do with mosque vs church but majority vs minority, oppressors vs oppressed. For instance, if pro democracy activists burned down a mosque in Tehran I'd be cheering them on, if a nationalist group burned down a mosque in London or Bradford I'd be horrified.

Eh, I don’t really see it. Holdouts are already holdouts, right? So absent any action of some kind, what’s going to make them change their minds? If you’ve got 10 people who can’t be bothered and you do nothing, you’ve got 10 unvaccinated people. If you offer something and 5 take it but 5 hold out for something more, then you’ve got 5 unvaccinated people. Which one is better? I know it’s in the nature of US society to favour the stick over the carrot when trying to make people do what you want but it’s a real stretch to view this as a counterproductive move.

Couple recorded pulling weapons on protesters outside their St. Louis home
jakee replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, he has a point. IIRC every other house on that block that didn't have armed nutters standing outside was in fact completely destroyed..... right? -
Just like any other ordinary tourist.

Funny, it kinda seemed like you thought what Europe is doing meant something when you started this thread yesterday. If you’re now saying that what Europe does is irrelevant and therefore your OP is pointless then I guess the thread can end here.

Commercial car washes don't wash the same car 100+ times per day.
-
See, that's exactly it. You seem to need it to be proven that something has happened before you can countenance any possibility that it will happen. It is a frankly bizarre misunderstanding of the relationship between present and future. There is over 20 times more wind power in Europe now than there was in 2000 and it's being built at an increasing rate, yet the idea that there will be more of it in future seems to fill you with the same incredulity as if an elephant walked into your kitchen wearing a top hat, smoking a cigar and challenged you to a game of tennis.
-
Because there are enough coal powerplants sitting around and not enough wind and solar - yet. Time and again you appear completely baffled by the concept that if something doesn't exist now, it could exist in the future if we build it. Please let me know where it is in that thought process you get lost and I'll do my best to try and explain it to you.
