Man, would you look at all that counterweight?
-
Well, you already have many more votes than posts. But you get a 1:1 from me.

Wow. It's a wonder we aren't calling you sansac. Anyway, congratulations on your f-f-four h-hundredth. Hearing about your exploits does bring about the whuffo in me, though. So, whuffo you jump out of them airplanes naked?

Not exactly guests - but I have 'enjoyed' house-shares with some pretty unsavoury people, petty criminals among them. It's no fun living with thieves and I'm glad I'll never have to do it again.

May we know which DZ it is?
-
Yeah, until they needed to use our air bases. Then they came crawling back! Editied to add: Happy Independence Day, you lot.

Like a lot of things that go viral, I wondered how 'real' this was when I saw it. You just can't tell any more...

"Never will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villany" - Obi-wan Kenobi Yeah, that too!

I actually think this is even cooler. Assume it doesn't kill him the second he untethers it.

I agree with those who say don't get involved if you don't have to. DZs, especially ones where the staff are resident and living under each others' feet, are often festering pools of politics and drama. I think it's especially bad off-season, when there's less jumping and so more time for petty disputes. I've always been surprised by the weekend jumpers who feel the need to get involved in that. Me, I turn up, laugh at the gossip about who's been poking or punching who, and then happily leave it behind me. :)

I don't have either rating, and I only have a couple of thousand jumps. But I'm guessing 10,000 or 20,000 feels much like 2,000. I think if there's a point where it starts to feel 'natural' then it happens way before you get thousands of jumps under your belt. You're probably a lot closer to it than you realise. As for boring - well, the novelty of sitting around waiting and riding in planes and packing soon wears off. But the jumping? Not in my experience - after all, while some people's freefall total can be counted in months, it only happens a minute at a time. And if you get tired of one discipline there are always plenty more to try.

I think all-white is pretty much the default on most skydives, isn't it? But that's a whole different topic...

This seems to me a bizzare outlook. Even if you favour the theory of nurture over nature, then I'd still argue that 'choices' around sexuality in particular are largely made for us long before we have the capacity to make them ourselves. If God told you tomorrow that he wanted you to be a homosexual, do you think you could suddenly become attracted to men?

Well, not everyone likes to go dancing. I'd assume that gay rodeos = gay competitors and spectators = increased potential for romantic implications. Add to that the spectacle of tough guys in cowboy gear astride wildly bucking animals... sorry, where was the mystery again? I understand that you're saying there shouldn't be a distinction, but we all do this all the time - it's fun to spend time with your peers, in every sense of the word.

I have to admit, it tickles me that each of those urls starts 'assets...'.

Very sorry to hear this, Bry. I know you and your family will be the biggest comfort to one another, but I hope it helps to know that there's a huge community here thinking of you too.

Wild, isn't it? You are Superman - right up to the point when the ground comes up and smacks you at over a hundred miles an hour. Like most 'new' things when you're a student, seeing someone fly relative to you for the first time is a distraction. Obviously as you get accustomed to it then that distraction diminishes. Meanwhile, take extra care to concentrate on your drills. I remember tracking off from an FS dive into a dense cloud (hey, it shouldn't happen but it did on this occasion). Suddenly having no reference at all made everything feel slightly unreal - I had the strangely relaxing sense of being wrapped up in a white sheet, not falling at all, and not even being in the air. I had very little compulsion to save my life - just wanted to 'lie there' and fall asleep in that cotton wool world. Very odd and unnerving in retrospect.

When I jumped at Tecumseh years back, they had a tree on the DZ from which was hung quite a number of odd shoes. I was told that whenever someone lost a shoe in freefall they added the other (now useless) one to the collection. Not sure how true that was, but it was a nice idea.

So long as she didn't come out with a flame job!

"Faw Cues". See what you did there.
-
Is that from his bubble perm period?
-
Sorry you didn't get to jump, but well done for still having a life outside the sport.
-
OK. But what does she wear?
