  2. Not really sure what you're arguing about. You're not going to convert me into a lazy leader. Forty-two
  3. He never commanded a vessel. It's sad that hard-working men have all but vanished and the new breed of "leaders" are popping up everywhere. Forty-two
  4. I'm getting all misty-eyed. Cue the romance music. Forty-two
  5. Didn't know we had to agree with everything the poster had to say. I must have missed that meeting. Forty-two
  6. Of course not. Those rules are designed to help the non-grappler. When I'm in the guard, mount, side mount, etc... I am always positioned to not be prone to being bit, eye-gouged or fish-hooked. The fact is anyone whose in the know about martial arts will tell you grapplers dominate fights. Oh, another misconception I've seen from those "knowledgable" about fighting is that Royce Gracie and other BJJ stylists are "slow." By slow they are referring to not speed but the amount of time it takes to beat an opponent. This is such a misconception. THe opponents the Gracies fight in these NHB/MMA tournaments are world-class martial artists. It does take some time to defeat some of these fighters. In the real world, however, 99% of the bums you encounter are not anywhere near the skill of those fighters. Most opponents encountered by a BJJ stylist on the streets can easily be defeated in less than 15 seconds. There are many submissions that we practice that are based for stand-up aggression. 7. And a very good saying too. The sad thing is people feel that the higher they climb the ladder the less they have to do. Extremely backwards. When I was in the Navy one of my O-5s would often pick up a mop and scrub the floors right there next to us peons. It didn't just stop there. When handing out cleaning tasks he often assigned the harder, more dirty duties to himself. What did that do? It made us look up to him in a way few enlisted men looked at officers. He had the pulse of every man under him. He was a true leader. He lead from the front. And because of his leadership we would follow him anywhere. And he knew it. Forty-two
  8. Yeah, it would actually give them the impression that you're a leader who leads from the front, not the rear. It would show them that you are not above any one thing. It would show them that you see what they see, feel what they feel, smell what they smell, etc... Yeah...wouldn't want that to happen. Man. Where has all the hard working ethics gone? Is there any acheivers left in the world? Forty-two
  9. If I was getting paid and there was nothing for me to do I would find something. If that failed I would pick up a broom, mop, windex, etc... and cleaned something. Then again I'm just old-fashioned. It's the way I was raised and trained. Forty-two
  10. Yeah...shoot yourself in the head because it's all downhill after you stop eating thick, juicy, savory, marinated steaks and burgers mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Shhhhhhh...Dagny may be lurking. Forty-two
  11. Perfect example of a person I would not ever hire. Forty-two
  12. Great! We'll spar with no rules at all. The 3 rules were for your protection...not mine. Now would you be willing to fight in a dojo on tape after signing the proper legal waivers under those conditions (no rules)? Surly with your vast experience you could handle someone like me that is so limited in martial arts styles. Let me know if you change your mind. I would love for all the dz.com posters to see it on tape. Viking would have an easy time deciding what style to take. Forty-two
  13. Actually, eye-gouging, biting and fish-hooking are rules designed to help out non-grapplers. Allowing those in a real fight have little to no consequence. What many uneducated followers of martial arts do not realize is that allowing those would benifit the grappler that much more. It's funny to see people bring up the 3 basic rules in NHB fights as a reason why those fights aren't realistic. The more intelligent people know that allowing biting, eye-gouging and fish-hooking makes no difference at all to a grappler. Forty-two
  14. Not a threat whatsoever. I'm here to officially challenge you to a controlled 1 on 1 in a dojo/gym with witnesses while being video taped. Waiver papers will be signed and so forth. We'll fight until one of the four conditions are met... 1. Knockout 2. Tap out 3. Fighter can't defend himself intelligently 4. Disqualification Disqualification occurs by breaking one of the 3 rules... 1. No biting 2. No eye gouging 3. No fish-hooking Only 2 forms of protective gear may be used. 1. Cup 2. Mouth guard A certified instructor will be present to control the spar. So what do you say? This happens quite a bit. Nothing to be defensive about. When you're down here again PM and I'll set it all up. I'm sure someone on here will host the video. Afterall, actions speak louder than words. Forty-two
  15. Are you serious? I'll bet you a year's pay he has an endorsement in the next 2 years. Forty-two
  16. See who the first one is that can google...errrr.....guess these..... - Who is the player silhouetted on the NBA logo? - Who is the player silhouetted on the MLB logo? Forty-two

  19. That's because you know I'll take all your money in 7CS. Forty-two
  20. #1 - Correct. It's not the best idea to go to the ground when confronted with multiple opponents. That's something that's elementary. Everyone knows this. #2 - I have been in more than one fight where I was outnumbered. Forty-two
  21. When you gain the appropriate grappling experience you'll see what you're missing to be the complete fighter. What people like yourself don't realize is that you don't have to learn 37 different styles to be a complete fighter. Tell me again what ranking you hold in BJJ? If you're ever in Florida float me a PM and we'll hook up. I'll take you to one of the gyms here and we'll video tape a 1 on 1 and post it on these forums and let the people see for themselves which is a more dominent style. Forty-two
  22. Can anyone put up a video on this thread that is 11 mb? I can send it email or on AIM. Forty-two
  23. One of the more interesting questions I've ever read. I thought about this for a while. I would have to say no. Forty-two
  24. Ivan is a good one to ask. He's god-like with computers. Not "a" god, "the" god. Forty-two
