eeee. really? well good thing they wont be in until next week, i'll jump my new canopy with the clear to get used to it, and then next week see how the blue ones work. i've seen em before and they looked pretty sweet.

you know what, that kayak story reminded me of my absolute closest call yet. I was like 12-13 at the time and we were at the Guadalupe river, tubing. anyway, there's this chute that winds to the left and right and then dumps into a big opening that has a bunch of whirlpools in it, and then continues on with the normal river flow. If you're in a tube, you get spun around by the whirlpools and then continue on. Well, me being really stupid and daredevil-ish, i went through that chute without a tube, and immediately got sucked down into a whirlpool, and got shot back out, when i came up i took a huge breath of air and got sucked back under, and i remember being dragged along the river bottom, which sucked cuz it was all rugged and full of basketball size rocks. It must have been about a minute and a half because i was starting to run out of air and really started to worry about getting back up, i was just letting the water carry me and i was hoping i'd get spit out. Anyway, so i started to run out of air and started to get this panicky feeling in my chest, so i started fighting to get to the surface, made it up, and hit the wall on the other side so hard i got the air knocked out of me completely, and sank back down. i was REALLY worried by that point because i was starting to tire and was having a hard time swimming. i managed to claw myself up that wall until my head got out of the water and yelled help to the lifeguards who were sitting on top of that wall. the first time i yelled, they just kinda casually looked at me, and turned back around. the next time, i yelled again and this time a guy in a tube saw me holding onto the wall and he screamed at the lifeguards who then threw this PUNY, and i mean friggin PUNY little donut of a tube at me. I doubt even a midget could float on this little thing. So i grab it and let go of the wall and immediately sink as this thing is of course, worthless. At that point i was extremely worried as i had no strength left in my arms and the lifeguard was busy flirting with some chicks or something, i dunno. The guy that had screamed at the lifeguard jumped off his tube and swam over to me and grabbed me and pulled me over to the shallow end, by that time i was so weak i couldnt even stand up. lol. I thanked him and took a moment to get my air back and as soon as i did, i took that little frickin tube i still had and let all the air out of it and threw it into the woods as far as i could and flipped that life guard off. after that i just swam down river and that was it.

DUDE! i always wanted to be a crop duster pilot too. those guys have major balls flyin so low and close to powerlines and all that. looks like alot of fun. if i can ever finish up my flying time requirements i want to be a crop duster pilot.

VERY good advice. i've basically lived at the dz every weekend since i started out, and i've learned alot just hanging around talking to people. i dont know about the two stage flare but i was taught to go FLARE TWO THREE. like, start it out, then go to your chest, then to your knees and prepare to plf. *shrugs*

okay, i just gotta tell everybody about this. I ordered some items from them a week ago, including some blue tinted sorz goggles. i got them very quickly, but the goggles were clear instead of blue like i'd ordered. It wasnt that big of a deal, but i emailed them anyway to tell them to check their ordering set up to make sure that nothing was messed up, and they emailed me back a day later saying that they found the mistake, and that they were sending me a pair of blue tinted goggles free of charge!! WOW! i definitely wasnt expecting that, and now they have just gotten themselves another dedicated customer. It was actually surprising to get good customer service, after being abused by so many online businesses.

hahaha. eh. i knew somebody'd call me out eventually anyway. Actually, i'm gonna have to do an IOU at my dz because i am pretty much COMPLETELY broke. just doing a few jumps is gonna be murder on my wallet. lol.

hmmm.. my closest near death experience was definitely when i started losing control of my car at 160 mph on 290 coming back from austin. Came over a hill and a gust of wind got my car just right and started lifting the front end up and started fish tailing. Man i just knew i was fucked. still dont know how i managed to get out of that, but after swerving through all the lanes and both shoulders, and getting back in control, i went about 30 mph the rest of the way home. hahaha.

AHHH its fucking gorgeous!! it could use a cleaning but by god its one of the prettiest things i've ever seen. i cant stop grinning. 2000 javelin j3 with 170 spectre and pd 160 reserve. BEER!

i just looked at my balance on my credit card, and i have 5,760 bucks on it. starting to get close to maxing it out. i'm gonna have to put another grand on it to pay the bills because my fucking loan wont come in until next week. i'll still be able to pay off the credit card once the loan comes in but dayum. i only had about 1,500 on the card before i started skydiving. oh well, its worth it for me.

hmmm.. i went from a 260 on my first jump to a 240 on my second, to a 220 on my 3rd and 4th, to a 200 on my 5th and 6th, a 220 on my 7th and 8th (i was at eloy and the 220 was the smallest they had) and a 190 from 9 to like 17, and the 185 from 18 to 26. my next jump will be on my spectre 170. i've stood up every landing since my... 3rd? and i was in control of each and every one of those landings. i would have downsized to the 170 but they've been out of commission needing a cypress repair or reserve pack or whatever. If somebody told me that i was unsafe under canopy, or thought i would hurt myself, i would listen and act accordingly. you cant just judge everybody on a flat scale. people learn at different rates. i just got the hang of it quicker. *shrugs* do i think i'm cooler or more bad ass as a result? nope. doesnt really matter to me. could care less if you're flying a napkin or a chute the size of a house as long as you're safe and dont hurt yourself. (btw i'm about 190 out the door)

but the light is actually already on. if the light is off, and then flashes on, that will be alot easier to notice, then just a change in the color of the light.

We have been following the discussion on Dropzone.com and I am very sorry that we discontinued the development of the Light-Track accessory that should connect to the Pro-Dytter and Pro-Track. We have no more stock of the old model Dytter with the light-accessory. Hopefully, we will be ready around the beginning og 2005 with something you can use. I am really sorry that we have not put much energy into these needs for deaf skydivers... Best regards, Mads Larsen WAHHH!!!! guess now i'll have to look for one of those timeout things.
