Snivel, snivel, snivel (Spectre question)

okay well. i have a spectre 170 and i do NOT roll the nose at all, i usually push in the nose a little, but not alot, and thats about it. it usually opens within like 4-5 seconds, the longest snivel i've had was like 6-7 seconds. *shrugs* just tell your packer not to roll the nose. -
bwahahah. thats pretty old, actually. about a month and a half ago, i think. i'm in the last pic kneeling in the background looking off to the side. heh. the pilot was trying to avoid one of the huge water puddles on the runway, and went off into the grass and walla, stuck plane. didnt take too long to pull it out with the tractor.

really? the pair of sorz that i bought have worked GREAT for me. they look cool and work well.. the only problem is that i hear that the foam padding tends to come off after a while.. i've put about.. 40 something jumps on mine and i dont see any signs of the foam coming off anytime soon. BUT, i do notice that at the end of the day, my face is black where the goggles sat, from the foam or whatever, it leaves a residue. Not that it matters at all anyway. I'm thinking about buying a pair of Gatorz, but i dunno. i dont think they'll block enough air, but we'll see.

hey thats GREAT!! but how did the aff instructors hold on? I've got a mental picture of a student falling super fast with two instructors head down holding on for dear life ofc i dont think it happened like that for real, but how did they manage to keep up? Glad to hear you made it into the sky, best of luck with completing AFF bro!

oh boy. Yeah, we try to put pier right by the door so that when he drops ass (which is inevitable, at least at SDH ) we can just open the door a little to get some air. once, after he dropped a real bomb on us, we opened the door all the way and pier was clutching his seatbelt, probably thought we were gonna throw him out (and i was thinking about it)

well for safety's sake, and so that the camera guy can get some good pics, we'll be up high around 8-10 grand. that should give me more then plenty time to deal with any problems if i have any. -
if its who i think you're talking about, he's been having to repeat the same level over and over and over and never remembers to pull. *shrugs* but thats all i know.

Yep.. sure have. today i was actually goofing around flying my canopy backwards. i have a 170 spectre loaded at about 1:1.14, what i was doing was just stalling the canopy until the pilot chute goes over to the front, it does seem to start dropping quickly and it's pretty tricky to control, its not exactly really stable. its easy to recover from, just slowly let the toggles up. i got bored after a while, and went backwards, then let the toggles up VERY fast, and the canopy turned into a ball of shit for about 500 feet, and took its time reinflating, then took me through about 5 360s VERY fast. it was quite a ride! *btw next weekend i'll have one of my friends tape me and take some pics, so yall can see it for yourself. :) -
had a FANTASTIC weekend! the weather was friggin' perfect! oh man. best weekend in quite some time. made 5 jumps on saturday, 6 on sunday. some freefly, some belly, and 2 crw jumps, made my first biplane and downplane today. Also found that yes, a 170 Spectre WILL fly backwards, and that when you release the toggles fast, it WILL collapse into a ball of shit. aaaaaahahaha (i suggest trying this at a high altitude)

to me, i'm not worried about pissing the other rw guys off. i know that they know i'm a noobie and am most likely gonna suck anyway. I'm just the type of person that has a very hard time dealing with failure. with rw, you are either IN the slot, or you are OUT. one or the other. with freeflying, there's no such IN or OUT unless you are really horrible and go back sliding about 5 miles away. but anyway i feel that with freeflying the criteria for a sucessful jump are much more flexible and easier to accomplish, especially for a fledging skydiver such as myself. However, this weekend i will be doing mostly belly flying as today i got my RW suit in!! HOORAY!

so who all's goin to the Houston Rodeo? i just finally got my cowboy hat reformed, so i'm all ready to rock maybe we could get a group of skydivers together and go out there and check it out. i live about 20-30 mins away from the stadiums so if you're coming from out of town you could crash at my place if needed.

hmm. personally, i just like the freedom of being able to just go out and have fun. for me, being a newbie and due to the fact that i suck, i do not have any fun trying to do RW. for the most part, the other people are usually VERY understanding and say that i did really well, yadda yadda. but its a personal thing. i get mad at myself when i cannot do a simple thing, and you know what, after a long hard week at school, thats the last thing i want to be doing, getting all frustrated at myself and freaking out about some stupid shit that DOES NOT MATTER. therefore, i just do freeflying for the most part, because even if you screw up, it doesnt really matter as long as you are being safe and having fun.
