  1. Okay, this is the part that I focused on. I leapt to react to this, because it goes some way toward saying, "Oh well, when a victim forgives his attacker, he can go free." -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  2. So if a guy is clearly a murderer and/or attempted murderer, you don't mind him being let out into society again -- a risk to you and yours -- just because his victims' family and/or would-be victim FORGIVES him? -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  3. So you're acknowledging that he tried to kill the Pope, and he was a murderer ALREADY... Here's a guy who really should be let out of prison. What the FUCK, people?! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  4. Someone wanna do something about the stalker who keeps trying to start shit by posting nasty bait in every thread I start or visit? How pathetic. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  5. "Bird Flu Spreads Across Turkey?" I can't be the only one who thinks that this must be a lot of fun for the copy editors writing these headlines. How about, "Turkey Has Bird Flu"? "Turkey Stuffed with Bird Flu"? "Bird Flu Spreads from Turkey to Sandwich Islands"? If it reaches the U.S., and gets real bad, we may see, "Phoenix Burns Body to Fight Bird Flu"... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  6. They're gonna release the guy who shot the pope" Unbelievable. It's not unlike allowing John Hinckley Jr. out of prison to visit his folks, after his conviction for attempting to assassinate Ronald Reagan. If you can attempt to murder a head of state and still be allowed to leave prison before your corpse stiffens, there is something wrong with the way our society dispenses justice. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  7. To me, it just shows that your drunkards and other miscreants have your society by the balls, and it's, "Kiss our asses and appease us or we'll run riot through your towns every night when the bars close, because we're just socially maladjusted animals who can't behave in a civil, lawful manner." I mean what the fuck, dude. Why can't you just EXPECT MORE OF YOUR CITIZENS?! IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE THAT THE NORM OF BEHAVIOR IS TO GET ROWDY AND DESTRUCTIVE just because the bars have closed! And your society is handing out fucking CANDY BARS?! This sounds to me like if Europe had figured out that they could have kept the Nazis from machine-gunning them by handing out pasties and fish-n-chips, they would have been served well to hold the aggressors at bay in that manner. Absurd. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  8. and our bad teeth I'll leave it to The Simpsons to do that. It's toooo easy! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  9. Bush doesn't write laws. If this law is enacted, thank the members of the House and Senate. Without them, Bush would have a blank piece of paper before him to sign. Your continued blaming of Bush is absurd. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  10. Holy shit, how could you not include the Adam Sandler remake of "The Longest Yard"?! I laughed my ass off at that movie!! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  11. I love matzo brie, but I have never made it. Ironically, just last week I bought a box of matzo for exactly that purpose! I'll let you know how it turns out. And whether I gag. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  12. i need to move to the States our jump tickets just went to £20 each thats about $35+ i think . i'm pretty new to the sport and feel privalijed to be part of it , and hope to see it develop more ..... Hey, one of your own just had a thread where he wished our fuel costs to be like yours are, because we're so spoiled. When I pointed out that that would ruin the U.S. for U.K. expatriate (or visitor) skydivers, I was told that there's always Spain and a few other places. But they're not the U.S. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  13. Anyone who doesn't get a bit of a thrill when stepping to the door and looking down really should just quit jumping and watch it on videos. I'm with you, Hambone. Hanging off and letting go is a huge part of the fun. My stomach doesn't leap as I head on down the hill anymore, but it's still a blast!! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  14. I've been doing the math here on my diamond-and-ruby-studded Louis Vuitton calculator, and danged if the Anvil isn't right! -Jeffrey edit: How did I spell "calculator" wrong?! -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  15. Actually there's a fair bit of research that says that you drive better when your stoned due to your increased concentration. Oh, and one of my "drugged out of his mind" mates who smokes a hell of alot of pot just got his Phd in physics after getting a 1st class honours degree in physics too. Bloody useless stoners. Exceptions prove the rule. One of my stoned-out druggie friends just lost his wife due to his prescription drug habit -- and his job, and most of the custody of his daughter, and his right to keep and bear arms... But he was an A /B student in high school and college, and one of the most intelligent people I know. A stoned-out druggie kid got his friend killed right at the corner of my street a few years ago. He was stoned and drunk, and reaching under his seat for a CD player, and asked his friend to hold the wheel. His friend veered to the right and they struck a concrete light pole and spun around. The right side of the car was mashed real good, and so was the kid. I arrived home to my block that night (around 2 a.m.) as they were loading the boy's body into the ambulance. Just recently, the driver pleaded guilty to something related to it -- maybe it was vehicular manslaughter or something. Not sure. I just remember thinking, "Wow, the kid 'manned-up' and copped to a guilty plea!" At least he can be responsible now, if not then. Or the hispanic woman who was driving without a license and pulled into traffic (also about a block from my house) on U.S. 1. She got in the way of a motorcycle cop -- husband and father -- and he was killed in the accident. She was given a slap on the wrist -- no prison, just something like community service. And a year or so later she was re-arrested for... guess what... AGAIN driving without a license! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  16. Did you check to verify this or are you just a bigot? Let me let you in on a little secret... Florida has LOT of illegal immigrants living here! Observing that no more makes me a bigot than observing that Sweden has a lot of blond people. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  17. No, buthow did you like my clever, elaborate ruse to get you to admit that that's what you had been being? Get back to me when you figure out what really happened. I got it! I got it! You didn't stop being a bitch!! What do I win?! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  18. To borrow a phrase from the Duke boys... "YEEEEE-HAAAAAAA!!!!" -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  19. Oh, geez, that reminds me of the story of this guy down here in Florida who was standing on the side of the road trying to get his bicycle chain back on the sprocket. The problem was, it was all rusty and... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  20. No, buthow did you like my clever, elaborate ruse to get you to admit that that's what you had been being? (and how's that for a weird sentence?!) -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  21. I mostly don't worry about falling under the axe of this kind of zero-tolerance, since I don't abuse women. But I know very well that an accusation of domestic violence can be hurled at a VERY undeserving person without a shred of evidence and it can dog him for a long time and also cost him thousands of dollars -- and even cost him his right to keep and bear arms. It was my brother who suffered this kind of false accusation by a boozing girlfriend. My brother is about the gentlest 6'2" 200 pounder I know, a sweetie to his girlfriends (and now his wife), and would never in a thousand years be a domestic abuser -- not even emotionally or verbally. But this drunk accused him of some sort of grabbing thing -- because she was keeping his cellular phone from him and he took her wrist to get it from the lush. "Friends" of theirs advised her to call the police. When they got there, she wanted the police NOT to arrest him, but they did anyway. Took this gentle guy away in handcuffs. A few grand later, the charges were not sustained and he has a clear record -- except for having been arrested for domestic assault or whatever the fascists in MA call it when a guy tries to get his phone back from a psychotic alcoholic loser woman. The fact that women can accuse men of a variety of crimes and have their words taken as gospel regardless of their being completely false is a major problem I have with the state of the law in this country today. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  22. Maybe I'm keen on killing the planet -- did ya ever think of that?? -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  23. Do you dispute, though, that the scenario I laid out ("Heh heh, he said 'laid'!") makes the law about sexual consent seem really stupid? A guy dates a girl from 15-18, and they have sex with no illegality about it. He turns 18, and suddenly he is statutorily rapind his now-17-year-old girlfriend. That's just fuckin' dumb. She can give consent to a minor who's 17, but not to an adult who's 18 and one day?! Fuckin' moronic. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  24. That's why some say "gun control" means " 'sensible laws' like banning handguns and 'assault weapons,' " and I say it's "hitting your target." -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
