I agree. The Trump camp has this down to a tea now. Fuck the facts and drown the opposition in bullshit. Just keep on piling on the bullshit faster than anyone can keep up with. From a game theory standpoint it's sound strategy (regardless of how fucked up it is ethically). A lie only takes a couple of seconds to tell, but might take several minutes to debunk. Just keep telling people what they want to hear and don't care if they call you a liar. You'll be a rich liar and if that's all that matters to you, you're "winning" like Charlie Sheen. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Well, you're simply wrong about that. There is ample evidence to suggest Russian involvement. This is similar to say, the pieces of a surface to air missile of Russian origin being found in the wreckage of a downed Ukranian airliner. While there is no proof Russia ordered the pulling the trigger, they were absolutely involved in the design and deployment of the weapon into the area of operation. To say they weren't involved is silly. Back to the DNC hacking scandal, what has not been made public is ample evidence the average person could understand that absolutely proves Russian ordered the pulling of the trigger, but there is so much inference to be drawn from their involvement the point is actually moot. I remain open to the possibility some yet-to-be-named 3rd party hired the Russian hacker teams to do this as mercenaries as opposed to being ordered by Putin himself. Let's, just for the sake of ease, call that 3rd party, "Blofeld." Does it really let Russia off the hook? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Source and more: http://www.thejournal.ie/trump-computers-3166341-Jan2017/ I wonder if Trump knows why or when encryption was invented? I wonder if he knows what a Caesar Cypher is? Clearly Trump has somebody on his staff who has ensured Trump's twitter account in reasonably locked down (which is more than we can say for some high level tech CEO's like Zuckerberg), but still, Trump seems to be completely unaware of how life in 2017 relies on encryption and how the US would essentially have to go back to the Stone Age if they followed his recommendations. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Done. Negative. The report does exactly what it was intended to do, it is an explanation to system operators of what's going on and what to look for. It's not for general consumption, and it's not intended to convince anyone of anything in terms of the type of evidence that would be required in a court. It's not perfect. No document is. There will always be critics who think any document could be improved in this or that way. There will always be critics who will find an error or point out something they believe is an error but it should be obvious to others it's simply data. For instance, Gamblin goes on to make a bit of a show to point out about 25% of the IPs being TOR exit points. Well, no fucking duh. I'm surprised the number isn't higher. Lee, on the other hand, in his first few paragraphs gives the report good marks. He does spend the remainder of his analysis critiquing how it could be better, but so what? BTW, I have some notes on Rogue One I think would have made it a better film. Who cares? So do a bajillion other people, yet the film is a valid film as is. All of the above said, I really wanted to read YOUR thoughts on the report, not the thoughts of others. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Source and more: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/31/us/politics/donald-trump-russia-hacking.html?_r=0 It will be interesting to see what things his experts (I assume he doesn't do his own computer forensics) have uncovered that counter the official US intelligence agencies analysis of this. In fact, I'll be very curious to see how his experts have even been able to look at the data. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

The document itself is not really an issue. It is just a discussion document and it clearly states so at the beginning. There are no facts pointing to any wrong doings of the Russian government, and the document is worded in such a way that it should not be taken literally. It is all just opinion. I'm reasonably certain you've either not read the document or not understood it. It is absolutely not "just a discussion document." It is absolutely intended to "be taken literally." quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Why do you distrust the DOCUMENT? Please point to specific things in it you disagree with. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

The issue is, as I see it, is you have to separate the lies made for the right reasons from the lies made for the wrong reasons. ALL governments lie. Period. To a certain extent they have to. I doubt you tell 100% of the truth 100% of the time either. If you did, you'd be risking alienation by your cohort. You'd risk getting your face slapped from your wife when she asks you if her jeans make her ass look fat. The main difference between a person and an organization though is organizations can last for much longer and are rarely forgiven for past untruths. A person might forgive a spouse for lying about being at work when they're really out at a bar carousing with friends. People tend to not forgive organizations for similar things. Regardless of past indiscretions by various individuals or single organizations in the past, why do you distrust this particular[/I] document I've posted? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

And I'm still unclear what any of that has to do with the topic at hand. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

No great loss since, based on your posts, that was never your intention to begin with. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

It should be noted that being "successful as an author" (which apparently means being published and selling on Amazon), says nothing whatsoever to the quality of the writing. Not saying yours is, but the fact remains, there is a lot of shit writing being peddled on Amazon by hack writers. No writer should ever think they're all that just because they're being sold in the same establishment as "Fifty Shades of Grey." quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Are you allowed to yell the words, "Fuck Dubai" in public where you are right now? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

I'm sorry? If that's what you want, then why did YOU move off it and stop discussing "Grizzly Steppe"? Why did YOU shift the conversation? Sorry pal, you don't get to have it both ways. Oh, and fuck Dubai. https://youtu.be/TlMdYpnVOGQ quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Ad hominem attack? At you? Hmmm. What are you saying? Are you admitting you're being a complete hypocrite? Nobody asked you to do that. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

I'm OK with Jesus Christ filling that position. I also believe He is coming much sooner than most folks believe. Keep watching Israel. You should move to the UAE and see how your logic plays out. I am not sure what you mean. Logic is not foremost in my mental processing. Obviously. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Hard to say how much of that will be paid out. Supposedly they had finished Fisher's scenes on episode 8. I love how the article says Disney didn't comment. Well, there's a good reason for that; all of the studio suits are on holiday as is tradition in Hollywood between Christmas and New Year. About the only people on the lots are security and fire guys. Well, and the occasional person taking their out of town guests for a tour of their "glamorous" workplace. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

While this article is specifically about the surveillance state being built in the UAE, understand this can apply to any nation or any individual with enough money and desire to track and fuck with whoever they want. Yeah, it's like those total douche bags that live in oppressive countries and think it's fine to do so as long as they personally aren't affected. Hmmm... quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
