  1. Damn company that obviously knows nothing about energy use. http://www.treehugger.com/renewable-energy/teslas-gigafactory-will-produce-much-renewable-energy-it-uses-net-zero-energy.html quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  2. Damn company that doesn't know what's profitable or works. http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/05/10/apple-expands-renewable-energy-goal-to-cover-supply-chain/ quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  3. Damn liberal, commie rag. http://www.forbes.com/sites/morganstanley/2016/11/23/why-clean-energy-can-withstand-changing-political-winds/?sr_source=lift_facebook&nowelcome&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=morganstanley#8c43bf3ef3e1 quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  4. And you again admit it's simply a preference on your part. That's no basis for setting national policy. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  5. There are other forms of energy besides petroleum. They work just fine. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  6. But now you're admitting it's not about "energy independence " but instead something else entirely. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  7. The Obama administration was. Just not the flavor of you liked. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  8. Which benefits few (the people who own the extraction companies) and a cost to all (since all of the citizens own the land). Seems like a shitty deal for the US. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  9. I've noticed a trend lately of people who don't like what is being reported simply calling it "fake news." Let's make a distinction here and be honest about the term. Here's a guide. http://www.wnyc.org/story/breaking-news-consumer-handbook-fake-news-edition The TL;DR version in graphical form can be found attached. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  10. Brevity is the goal, you git. ;) quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  11. Were you ever in Los Angeles prior to the '80s? I was. I was born and raised here. It was awful. Bad enough where even just taking a breath hurt and it was difficult to see not just through, but because you're eyes would sting. Bad enough to actually kill people. If you've never lived in a place with bad smog like that, I can see where a person might take a cavalier attitude toward the EPA. Not me. Fuck that shit. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  12. I can't find where I said that anything gave me more credibility regarding an opinion on the election. Then why even bring up your writing? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  13. Agreed. Further, I think people should call them out on it. Fake news is fake news. Poor reporting or reporting a person doesn't agree with doesn't make it fake. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  14. He does, apparently. And he probably thinks his credibility is higher because he knows the word count of his posts. I'm curious if anyone knows the number of words cranked out by Ted Kaczynski? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  15. Hey, I'm still trying to figure out how any of it somehow gives him any more credibility WRT an opinion on the election. Essentially, who gives a F? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  16. Let's reserve the term "fake news" for stories which are actually fake. The headline wasn't "fake," just poorly written. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  17. No. This absolutely wasn't "fake news." Last night the GOP congress absolutely voted to do this. Today they backed off. That doesn't make it "fake news." quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  18. Source and more: http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/sean-hannity-julian-assange-fox-news-interview-1201951057/ Well, this ought to be interesting. Hannity has been chumming it up with Trump for quite some time now and Assange has been wanting to "burn it all down" Joker style for awhile. I think number one on the things to watch for is Assange being cagy in his wording about the trail of documents. Based on his history so far, he'll say WikiLeaks didn't get them from Russia, but that, of course, is meaningless. WikiLeaks can receive documents from anyone, but that doesn't mean the source of the hack wasn't Russia. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  19. I'm reasonably certain I have this sussed out. It makes sense Trump would want the existing ethics panel and rules to remain in place for Congress since that means individual Congress people can't make individual deals around whatever Trump would want to do. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  20. He's leaving persistent fingerprints that aren't consistent with a professional internet troll. I believe he's simply a hobbyist. Understand I have no intention of defending him, but also, let's not get carried away and give him some sort of "professional" status. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  21. Just like there is no doubt you get paid to post. I dunno. He's not all that good at it. I have my doubts. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  22. Okay, let's try a little experiment. Prove to me you exist. That is to say, you're one human individual living on the planet who hasn't been previously banned from this web site and has created a new account in violation of this site's terms of service. So far I've seen no evidence. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  23. Source and more: http://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/02/us/politics/with-no-warning-house-republicans-vote-to-hobble-independent-ethics-office.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=first-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news&_r=0 Well, I guess we know what is priority #1. Good god, have they no shame whatsoever? I mean, sure, politicians are going to violate ethics, but holy crap, at least have some shame about it and maintain the pretext. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  24. This has been the cause of a number of swooping accidents. Paint yourself into a corner and regardless of what you attempt to do you're going to end up having a very bad day. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  25. Any cypher can be broken given enough time and samples, and assuming the data doesn't self-destruct after N tries.[/I]. Hence the issue with the FBI and even an out-of-date iPhone. Yes, people being careless are the easiest way in. Couriers are also people which is why since ancient times their secret messages have also been encrypted. My entire point is, it makes no difference whatsoever if you send via a human courier or email it's still going to have to be encrypted and the best encryption is one that's not going to have any backdoors built into it either. Sending via human courier is just silly as it slows down the communication, is really no more secure, and also risks the life of an individual. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
