  1. Anthropologists would say religion was created as a result of primitive burial ceremonies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paleolithic_religion I get it. I would have thought we'd grown out of it, but I can see where it's helpful for some people. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  2. Maybe. I guess the only way for us to confirm this is to see some photos. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  3. Oh no! Dat's da work of da Debil. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  4. I did indeed. Thanks for the clarification. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  5. Its always important to understand the source of information and the qualifications of that source. Before the interwebs and breitbart news. People got detailed scientific knowledge from books and scientific journals. Scientific American magazine comes to mind. In order to get a book published or a study published in a magazine like Scientific American. You had to have a degree from a recognized university and peer support. Today anyone with a keyboard and access to the internet can publish. Set up websites and fill them with anything. With a basis in fact or with non-facts skillfully designed to mislead. Mislead those with already preconceived ideologies. Or mislead those who can't or lack the skills of inquiring minds to vet their sources of information. Unfortunately the biased, ignorant and those with minds disabled. By a lack of analytical or inquisitiveness of thought. Are everywhere, even here. You did see the links from the USGS; yes? I'm reasonably certain they're not simply a fly-by-night web site set up by random internet kooks. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  6. Everything ever published online is archived. Remember that. I want to say this is both true and untrue. It's true in that it was almost certainly backed up somewhere. It's untrue in that in a lot of cases those back ups can become increasingly more difficult to have access to as time goes on. Some back ups may in fact be destroyed over time. Nothing lasts forever. I'm sure my AOL home page from 1990 was archived. I seriously doubt anyone could ever find it today. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  7. Imma gonna file that one under both bathing and sex or at least a prelude to it. . Same goes for naked hot tub or sauna. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  8. I've followed this thread since it first went up. I've been trying to think of the best response. I've come to the conclusion that unless you're either bathing (or showering), getting a massage or other healthcare, in bed (or otherwise having sex), pretty much anything else is pretty stupid. I won't rule out some activities that might lead up to sex like for instance greeting a partner at the door, but generic life running around naked seems incredibly fraught with danger. My further guess is for the most part, most of us probably can't pull off the look. There are exceptions, but easily 90% of us are just not people anyone else really would want to see naked. So, besides the physical injury, there's also the danger of some psychological trauma. If not to you, then possibly others. There is no eraser for what can't be unseen. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  9. Science says otherwise. https://pubs.usgs.gov/fs/1995/fs216-95/ http://www.nature.com/news/humans-have-tripled-mercury-levels-in-upper-ocean-1.15680 http://www.environmentalhealthnews.org/ehs/news/ocean-mercury-increasing https://toxics.usgs.gov/highlights/pacific_mercury.html Please show us the science that says increasing mercury levels are not due to human made pollution. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  10. Anyone who has done any math on the issue knows the wall, as described by Trump, is fiscally stupid. https://www.viatechnik.com/blog/insane-math-behind-trump-wall/ Any engineer who has looked at the issue knows it's simply ridiculous to even consider. http://www.nationalmemo.com/an-engineer-explains-why-trumps-wall-is-so-implausible/ The literal wall, as described by Trump, will not be built. Some version of a wall might be started and that might be enough to satisfy his idiot supporters for a 2020 re-election bid, but it will never be finished as originally described. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  11. Be prepared for Trump's meaning of "pay" to shift from literal money to metaphorical retribution, so even if they do not pay in cash, they will pay with being treated poorly. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  12. Let me try this another way. Rush, what action by Trump could convince you the US has significantly changed? Not a minor change like the previous back and forth, give and take between the Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, Obama, but something fundamentally different which attacks the core beliefs of the US? Where is your line (just for future reference)? Fundamental changes/abuses of the US Constitution by Executive Order? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  13. No comrade Rush, it is you who lost it several months ago. In your absolute hate for Hillary (see you post two back from this), you've lost the ability to tell the difference between winning over her and handing over the US to a puppet of Russia. A number of us have been talking about that very point for months while you've somehow completely ignored it. All you've ever cared about in this entire election cycle was "winning" over Hillary. Okay, battle won, but you've lost the country. Proud of yourself? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  14. You'vl be wery happy under rule of comrade Trumputin number one USA. What a country. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  15. You'd have to be mad as a hatter to say there is "ZERO benefit" to reducing mercury. A 1% delta in anything on a global scale is huge. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  16. The vast majority of the population of the US doesn't either, but it's mostly about . . . wait for it . . . money . . . as in campaign contributions by a small, but extremely vocal and willing to donate segment of the population. That's really it. They have an organization that whips up their members, the members donate and vote, the organization has the power to make or break politicians. Cross the organization (by which I mean simply try to begin a conversation with them) and they'll attack like rabid monkeys. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  17. Reasonably certain that was his point. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

  20. And its a classic move according to "The Dictator's Handbook." Keep the populace just educated enough for your purposes and no more. Source: https://www.amazon.com/Dictators-Handbook-Behavior-Almost-Politics/dp/1610391845 quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  21. Really ought to be called "Copy and Paste Magazine" though. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  22. Yeah, we've talked about his volume of tweets and statements before. As for monitoring twitter 24/7, I'm not surprised and it's easy enough to do automatically. Any company ought to be doing it and pretty much always should have. Back in the day, I worked for a company that had a guy who went through about 20 different newspapers a day and made a news clip briefing book for the execs. Smart move really for the time. But as I said, all of that typical publicity office work you'd normally give to the new kid, well, that pretty much ought to all be automated now. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  23. Wait you uh, you thought he was serious? Don't be the Charlie Brown to his Lucy, he's always going to pull the football away... Whether he's to be taken serious or not, whether he pulls the football away or not, he needs to be held accountable for every word he utters or tweets. I don't really care what his intention is, it should not now nor ever be acceptable for politicians to blatantly lie to the American public. A misstatement or slip, sure, I can forgive almost anyone that (I'll still make fun of professionals who do it though), but it is a breach of trust and ought to be criminal for politicians to outright lie in statements to the public. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  24. So, uh . . . what day is it? http://shareblue.com/trump-breaks-promise-to-reveal-secret-intel-on-russian-hacking-by-wednesday/ quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
  25. More importantly, it was also scheduled on the same day as the Congressional vote-a-thon. That's the day early in a Congressional session where they vote pretty much non-stop to pass a bajillion little amendments and whatnot regarding how they're going to operate that session. What that means is, Tillerson's hearing will most likely be pretty brief and superficial regardless of Trump activity. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
