  7. I know we have discussed the Phi at length BUT a few more weeks down the line the only extra little bit of info i can find on the whole WWW is that photo collage by Scott Campos at WFFC of the Phi suit in action.... Having bought one a few weeks ago and waiting on delivery is there anyone out there who could help ease the anticipation by telling us what it was like if you have demo'ed it....pretty please with sugar icing and cherries ... ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  8. yeah sorry should hav made it clearer the ~ i was lacking the metal housing within the risers... just thinkiing back ... i was VERY surprised how hard i had to pull to get that thing to cut-away ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  9. I had my first cut away yesterday - was doing a solo wingsuit jump on a gti suit + 150sq eliptical hurricane canopy on jump 350. I ended up with very bad line twists and a flat spinning canopy. I reached for my handles and couldnt cut away with one hand, I had to use BOTH my hands to finally get the cut away cable free. The reason why i struggeled so much to cut away was due to the extra pressure on the actual cut away cable, I strongly advise people to check and correct that they have a hard housing for the cut away cable. That would assure that you have a nice and easy cut away at the right time ... believe me thats worth a lot... ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  10. not my intention to stir up the hornets nest but can anyone illuminate what the story is at JII-Wings with Jules (the Sugarglider/GS1 test pilot) leaving the team? Who is doing the testing now? ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~

  15. I have a related question that might fit in here ... which suit would be the best option for your first 40 jumps or as a beginner suit ? TOP 3? ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  16. I had a discussion with some of my freefly coaches this weekend after a full day of jumping. Two much more experienced jumpers gave the advice that during a high speed mal where the main risers are still tucked in it is advisable to rather not cut away (because there is nothing to cut-away) before pulling the reserve handle. This would lower the risk of the main bag / lines / canopy getting tangled in the reserve. Is this sound advice? Would you do the same? It does seem logical but I think making those kind of disicions only come once you have more malfunction experience. stywe lyne dfl. ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
