Three PASA Wingsuit instructors (Tonto, Pierre and Bernard) headed to KZN for 5 days to convert some verticals to the flock. We had no idea how much enthusiasm lay between the Drakensberg and the Durban, but we were about to find out! We planned on two first jump wingsuit classes followed by the required progression jumps with an instructor. Our program consists basically of a 5 jump program each with its own set of progressions with the idea being that the flyer should be comfortable to start being a part of 4 – 6 way flocks when they have completed the program. Jumpers with less more than 500 jumps are not required by PASA to go through training or briefing but nearly all the people we encountered were hungry for information on advance flying and flocking skills. Without fail every single student performed on the button and performed exceptionally well – most students started with decent rates of 100-115 mph on jump one followed by an 85-95mph decent rate followed by a jump 3 and 4 with a very comfortable 65-75mph (flocking speed in smaller suit) decent rate with nice sideways, forward, up and down movement. Congrats to the following students who are now fully fledged! We shall be back for more soon guys! 1. Stuart Taylor (GTi) 2. Gavin Morrison (GTi) 3. Vernon Kloppers (Phi) 4. Jodi Horning (GTi) 5. Tamsyn Souchon (GTi) 6. Ralph Loggenberg (GTi) 7. Pierre Loubser (Phi) 8. Rogan Brent (GTi) 9. Francois Barnard (GTi) Once again congrats and welcome to the flock

hi there KZN birds ! i flocked off to cape town after our weekend together so havent been able to post! 5. yeah will do - will be travelling abit in the next 2 weeks but will get on video and try and get it to you ! would be sick to get it on your site. I tried the gavitron flip 2twice this weekend... one ended with a bit of a flat spin the second was sketchy but i think i can call it the second try was initiated from a belly down (which i found easier since its the way your rotation is going already... pls explain the: Rotor (dynamic roll) Cork screw Roller coaster Passenger Transfer ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  6. cool by the pool ! checking your site now, just though of something which we could also try (ill do solo first though - mid gavitron (so in the head down part) doing a front flip and then continue with the carve out... im stoked it FRI ps nothing is impossible ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  7. yep i pay the slot !
  8. yeah true - id like to watch though, but ur right u dont HAVE 2. ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  9. NO grippers !!! especially not when learning its way too bumpy and we might just tear each other suits apart which would leave me without anyone too fly with ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  10. eagle and flower it is...impossible ... nothing is impossible (as i post this i hear a voice saying FAMOUS LAST WORDS) haha i must be honest that move is feeling pretty impossible 4 & 5 ill go with piece moves i dont know any RW names or moves only done feeflying and WS up to this point of my skydiving career ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  11. The tracking exercise is like that, you dont have to do it but im trying to get the new instructors (like me too) to do that jump once before they actually do it in a suit...just for peace of mind... problem is though who covers the slot! i dont mind paying my own slot (looove tracking) but some instructors might not want to pay for their slot... ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  12. In South Africa the rule is actually 300 jumps in 24m with a instructor doing the full briefing or 500 jumps in total with no instructor. Waiting longer is a little better from an awarness point of view but i suppose if your mind is in the right place and you furfill the minimum requirement you should be able to join the flock. My opinion is that the best pre first WS jump training you can do is to do your briefed jump in a full track with practice touches and turns (avoiding the jump run obviously as far as possible). ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  13. hi all ~ me and my friends have been working on some acrobatic stuff and was wondering what everybody else is up too and what they call the moves 1 - backfly to head down for 3 sec to belly carve out / second flyer does opposite in proximity (ie. belly to HD to back) 2- one back flyer hand gripped with one belly flyer both barrel roll to original position gripped. 3- belly down both flyers hand gripped, both flyers perform front flip holding the grip, insanely tough since both wings have to be closed (flying into the sunset
  14. assembly and cabling aside this looks exactly like the outline of a V1 ? can u post some close up pics please....ciao ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~

  18. hello - I've started doing back fly exits and alot more back flying, with the aim to be able to get below shots on flocking dives. I do need some advice though - I jump a s3s for starters, with my legs semi open I can back fly at flocking pace and have good up/down levels movement but im trying to figure out how to speed up and slow down horizontally ... any advice ?it feels like I tend to dive steeper the wider my legs are open which on your belly gives you more drive... ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  19. nothing yet on skydivingmovies?? should b super kool ! ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~

  21. Got my new S3s - man what a machine ! incredible forward speed and lift coupled with easiness to fly, the whole thing just works really well ~ I have a question for guys / girls whom have got a bit more experience on the suit (I have only done about 10 jumps on it)- what is your general leg position when flying for best decent rate (or longest time in the air) in the suit? That would be for the duration of a whole flight, not just when you dive and flare. I started out with pointing my toes out but im starting to get better times locking my knees as wide as possible while pointing them inwards so that the max stretch is on the top section of the leg wing. ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  22. oh my word!!! got my liquisky cosmo suit 2day !!! all i can say is amazing - i love everything about it - really good quality and materrials - i also took the ipod pocked option - they even give you an ipod head set with for free - as far as service goes - THANKS JULIO! im very happy ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
  23. hey guys - does anyone have an idea what the going rate per hour is for freefly coaching at bedford?? that would be excluding the actual tunnel time. many thanks. ~ time is ~ time was ~ times past ~
