GWB State of the Union Speech #6: Your Opinions Please
sioux replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
He said the US needs to end its reliance on Persian Gulf oil. The US only gets about 20% of its oil from the Persian Gulf. The rest comes from Mexico, Canada and South America. So reducing 20% by 75% is not quite as ambitious as I think he hoped it would sound. Do you really think much more is discussed than some of the stuff that comes out in the women's forum? People look for alliances, but seriously. The women's forum is pretty direct... BTW, I haven't liked some of your posts, but I certainly appreciate your honesty and directness. Sometimes honesty needs to sting to make one take notice. You've made me think about some stuff that I should think about... I thought these were fun at first, but I must admit that now I am lost and don't even know what most of them mean anymore. I am happy with (and a couple extra if something is really funny). I know, I'm probably an acronym loser, but I have other strengths

I worked with a girl named Carmella DiCandia. I always that that was an awesome name. I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

If the baby really turns around and is a bit shy, then it's probably a girl. If it just has its little hands over its little genitals, it's probably a boy. "So, uh, Honey, was it as wonderful for you as it was for me?" "Mooooooooooooooooo!!!" Walt and... ***yes, airtwardo is really the main man in that department. He's got the best pictures too! I'm sorry to bring this all to a new low, but now I'm wondering where the pictures are.... Of course. I know much better than to even think of a story-telling competition with either you or airtwardo

WOW! I should have known that you would trump my doe-eyed cow BASE story with a raging bull one Thanks for the tip about snapping a stick, though. I hope I never need that knowledge, but one never knows... I'll keep that in mind. Especially since the canopy I would jump is red. Is there any truth to that ... ummmm .... saying (myth? belief? fact?) that red makes a bull mad? I did my first and only ('til now) jump from a 180 ft. bridge in St. Gallen, Switzerland. We arrived to see a huge landing field, which became filled with cows by the time we reached the top of the bridge. An hour later, the cows had grazed their way enough to the top of the field to allow us to land safely, and it was my turn to jump. Yeeeaaahhhh!!! As soon as I landed, all the cows picked up their big, fuzzy heads and charged me! I grabbed everything as fast as I could all the while imagining my obit: "after an uneventful jump from a 55 metre bridge, jumper was summarily trampled by 20 otherwise docile bovine" (They didn't trample, though. Just stopped about 2 feet away and stared. Every time I moved an inch, they moved an inch to maintain the 2 ft distance until I backed out of the field) I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

Wow, thanks! The ice bar is something I would love to visit. We are working on a similar concept, but reduced in size -- ice sculptures, ice plates and glasses, etc. Hopefully a cool effect. I meant to stuff my bag with drug store stuff, but sadly, the Jiff peanut butter and Reeses took up too much space. No room left for Tylonol Pm. Beer I have. It's 5:52 am and I am drinking a beer hoping to get some sleep before I meet a friend in 12 hours. Ugh. ok, fine. forget it. I see that it is Friday night for most of you and you are out doing way cooler stuff than pacing an empty apartment while being both sleep deprived and unable to sleep. Grrr. I heard that, too. My brother sent me the pic with the skydiver story. He is a race car driver, so maybe I'll get back to him with the Snopes motorcycle explanation -- motorcycle, race car ... kinda similar.
