Wow. You are very fortunate to have had such a great father and such a close relationship with him. Your kids are equally fortunate

It's nice to read about others who have recently had ACL reconstruction. I had mine 8 weeks ago. What a nightmare! I haven't had any problems with my calf muscles, so my only input would be to second the basic stretching like with the towel, or lowering your heel down while standing on a step. But, given who your husband is, I guess you guys know that much! I wish you a quick and full recovery. I never had so much appreciation for me knees until April 8th of this year. Aaah, ok. Thanks for the clarification. Within the "nurture" department, you must have some interesting input. I think 13 is an important time... I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

I don't understand this. Can you please clarify? I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

Yeah, me too! I'm starting to say things like "Oh, God, I'm becoming my mother" ... and I'm starting to be really proud of that.... I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

No, not really. I'm just curious. I sometimes wonder how things would be today if things were different yesterday. I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

There is a theory that the feeling an "asshole" gives is similar to attraction. It's the danger response. It's a bit of adrenaline, followed by a bit of comfort. I'm in trouble! I'm safe! It can be very powerful. I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

hey all, I'm sitting at home recovering from an ACL reconstruction. My total injury was much worse than just ACL, so I've been in and out of action for the past 3 months. This whole experience has been such an emotional roller coaster - devastation, relief that it wasn't worse, depression, elation, introspection, frustration, just to name a few of the more salient moments. Has anyone else had extended periods on the sidelines? Any advice? I've been thinking about this and have come up with the following: A partner provides 3 things (not mutually exclusive): 1) a family 2) financial support 3) companionship The degrees to which a person relies on someone else for the above is totally subjective. In my case, I don't want kids and have more than enough money. So companionship is the issue. Everyone is cool and annoying. But I haven't yet found someone for the companionship bit where the cool outweighs the annoying. (Or maybe I have, but they were already involved with their own stuff). Does that sound reasonable? I agree with JeepDiver. I love being single. I could not imagine a better life than the one I have now (except for the current knee injury), and for a guy to be in my life, that means my life has to be better with him in it than it is now. That's pretty difficult. I haven't seen such convoluted lines of conversation and such expert chronicling thereof since my days of all day bong marathons in college. ~ Lindercles

I started studying and flying last summer. I sort of gave it up because the theory was really difficult in German, but I intend to finish before my student license expires next summer. (Flying this summer is not possible due to a knee injury, sadly. But I am still working on the theory and getting ready for the time I can fly again).
