    Lost the coin toss for designated driver that night, but hey, got to drink anything non-alcoholic for free all night in the bar! (Ok, one taste of champagne at midnight). And, I was able to go mountain biking the next day! (Maybe there are some advantages to this non-drinking thing....NAH!) Shawn _________________

    Michele, Sorry to hear about your Holiday trials, my GF's mother is 90, stroke, broken hip, one leg amputation, we've had several hospital bouts that sound like yours. As far as the flight, have you tried calling the airline? I know they used to be able to help arrange transportation for disabled/impaired folk, or at least they may be able to help you look in the right direction. There has to be some way of dealing with people flying who are lacking in mobility. Hang in there girl and a hug and vibes to you for the New Year!!! Shawn _________________

    Hey Hazzard, A a ray of hope on this thread, I managed to fully dislocate my right shoulder many years ago during a paraglider launch. Got it popped back in the the ER, did the PT, strength training, acupuncture, and made sure it was FULLY healed before really stressing it again, and have not had a single problem with it since. You definitely should have it evaluated before loading it again, make sure its healed! Speedy recovery, Shawn _________________

    Ok...what does it mean if you funnel an exit? _______________________________________________ It means you owe beer... Funnel means to take out or blow a manuever, "the formation funneled on exit", or " he\she docked too fast and funneled the formation". Shawn _________________

    Hey All, Well, on a beautiful day in Lodi, I got the honor of laying base on Stearman's first pin! After an interesting exit, he adjusted his fall rate nicely to allow me to come in and dock on him, then I backed up and let him fly to me. Nice approach, not too fast, never felt my life was in danger (and I was not wearing a helmet!) and made an excellent first pin! Congrats! It was a pleasure to meet and fly with you today!     Last student out of a 182 on S/L. After I got him out on the wheel, I told him GO! and he proceeded to jump off the wheel, but refused to let go of the strut!! After repeated attempts to get him to let go of the plane, and since I could not get him to get his feet back on the wheel, I finally had to climb out into the crotch of the strut, and proceed to play "0ne little piggy, two little piggys" prying his fingers off the strut to get him to go. I threw the bag back in the plane and followed him down where he landed without incident. He later told me that he WANTED to go, he just could'nt get his hands to obey! Shawn _________________
